Heath Ledger's funeral to be protested

I saw the documentary on that family too, actually I only got about halfway through it before I was sick enough to not continue.
I am REALLY shocked no one has sent them on their merry way to hell yet, I mean hate is the only things these people have. You can see it, it's really very ugly.

I hope his family and friends are not disturbed by them

Back when I was in high school I was in a production of the play, "The Laramie Project." The play about the boy in Laramie, Wyoming who was beaten to death because he was gay.

Sure enough, those guys protested at our high school. Seeing them was one of the most surreal moments of my life to this day. They were screaming such vile things, and their SIGNS. I'm pretty sure any well-respected Christian would think those signs were sinful. My favorite sign, and perhaps the only appropriate one to say on these boards, said "You Eat Your Children." WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN? We couldn't help but laugh at that one.

If there IS a god up there, I hope when they die he shows them great mercy. He WOULD be the one to have created their sick twisted minds anyway... Perhaps he will show them the love they could never accept in their own hearts.

Rest in Peace, Heath. And don't mind those Westboro fellas. Nobody takes 'em seriously.

no, the lawsuit hasn't stopped them. They are due in our area tomorrow to protest at the funeral of a fallen soldier. Our area paper stated a quote from them, something to the effect that " God is a terrorist". These people are sick!!!!!!

(side note since it was mentioned: I finally rented "Laramie Project" a couple months ago - very powerful and moving!)

Is this protest going to be at the Frank Campbell funeral home? I know that's where he was brought. It always gets my attention as that's the same one my family uses. Grandparents/aunts/uncles have all had their funerals there. It's in the middle of NYC. Who exactly do they think is going to pay them any attention in the City? Gee, strange people picketing in NYC. They'll be lucky if the pigeons give them a second glance. What a bunch of idiots.

When we did "Laramie Project" in college they were supposed to show up for a protest but didn't. Apparently our campus was not going to let them get onto the campus as a security risk and it wasn't going to be worth it for them.

They will get what they deserve in the end. It is so sad that people can be filled with so much blind hate.

I doubt that it will be very many picketing. I've haven't seen them out in large groups in a couple of years now. It's usually around 4-6 adults and abuot 5 children usually under the age of 10. I think that's the saddest part is the children being brainwashed to hate. I worry about the violence they may encounter one day due to their parents teaching them this uglyness.

I just wanted to tell you to please don't go out there in a silent protest. Just let them be. It bothers them even more when they are ignored. It used to be they would show up at least once a month outside our army post and for the longest time it was a big standoff with riot police and people ready to throw down. That just made them come back more often for the publicity. After the last time and no one came out to heckle them, they haven't been back.

Although something I saw happen that was hilarious was the driving by shooting of the group........with a super soaker

I've been to two funerals where the Phelps group has protested and seen them around KC protesting on a number of occassions. Our local law enforcement is great at keeping them at a distance. Our media hasn't covered the Phelps at all in years. That's exactly what they are looking for. Their ideas are so far out there. Everyone here just thinks they are crazy.

It looks like they'll be showing their butts in NYC and not traveling to Australia. Are they too chicken to be such publicity-loving hate-mongers in other countries? I wonder what the Aussies will make of these 'people'.

I find these protesting very troubling.

What ever a person did or said in his or her life doesn't matter any more. The family is grieving, let them grieve in peace. Even the press should back-off.

Tina's right-they want the publicity. In their idiot minds, the best thing that could happen is that someone takes a swing at them or something-then they get to charge assault and sue-bringing more publicity.
