Heath Ledger has passed away :MEMORIAL PICS POSTED

can someone find a link the the Britney thread. I swear there was a similar comment on there and I couldn't believe it.

When people commit suicide, they have their reasons. I tend to leave them alone after that.

But I do like it when the celebs die from drug overdoses. It gives DH and I the opportunity to talk to the kids about drugs without actually doing it. You lecture, it generally goes in one ear and out the other.

Something like this, though, would be an excellent opportunity. I'll say, "Did you hear another of those Hollywood morons did himself in?" He'll say, "No!" Then I'll say, "Heath Ledger. You know who he was, Mindy?" and DD will say that she does and she likes him, he was in this or that. And I'll add, "Well, now he's nowhere. He's dead. Idiot." And I'll turn back to DH and say, "Will those people NEVER LEARN?! You take drugs, you might die!" And he'll add that they won't learn because they're stupid. We'll laught at him and then move on to some other topic.

It sounds mean, but it is how we drive it home to our kids. Taking drugs is stupid and can kill you. If you do it, you are stupid and risking your life.

I don't personally care about this guy or mean him any harm. But I take my opportunities where I can grab them. So, I'm kind of hoping - if he has to be dead, anyway - that it was drugs.

Why am I not suprised!!:sad2: :sad2:

Disgusting, just Disgusting.

The media speculation is nauseating to me. It seems they're always trying to create a scandal out of everything. I wish they would just leave the poor guy alone, and wait to report the "facts" of what has happened until they do actually know the truth. Unfortunately the media seemingly thrives on creating and reporting controversy where there may not actually be any.
This is such a sad situation.

And of course message boards thrive on exactly the same thing. On this thread alone we've already virtually descerated the man's corpse.

I'm not singling you out in thsi statement AT ALL BuckyFan04, but we could all profit in a bit of self awareness here on issues such as this. The CB is different from Access Hollywood how exactly?

Take this for what its worth.

TMZ has learned what types of pills were discovered in the apartment where Heath Ledger was found dead.

NYPD sources tell TMZ that nearly full pill bottles containing the anti-anxiety medications Alprazolam (Xanax), Diazepam (Valium), Lorazepam (Ativan) were found in the apartment. The sleeping medication Zoplicone (Lunesta) and the sedative Temazepam (Restoril) -- which is used by people with "debilitating insomnia" -- were also found.

All of the drugs were prescribed to Ledger.

I find it interesting that Ambien isn't on the list, but Lunesta AND Restoril are. I can't believe he would be prescribed ALL of this from the same doctor.

I believe they said the ambien wasn't working..They may have been trying to find something that would, hence the nearly full bottles. I know ambien didn't work for Ed when he came home from the hospital and we tried a few things...Some of the failed meds of different types sat by the bed for a while.

That makes a lot of sense. Thanks!

Exactly, It really doesn't matter how many bottles or different kinds. he could easily been prescribed new drugs, as the others did not work.

That's true, we do speculate here on the board as well. That's a good question to think about. I don't really have an answer for it right now though.

The media's speculation and certain people on the news channels who seem so conviced that Heath Ledger was a drug abuser and committed suicide without really knowing the truth is just getting to me. I think maybe it's people saying these things as "facts" rather than just plain old speculating that bothers me the most. Maybe because the media has an influence over or reaches a much larger number of people than message boards is why the media's speculation bothers me more? I'm not really sure. I might have been a little harsh in that post because Heath Ledger's death is upsetting to me.

ETA: I'm sorry if I'm not explaining myself well; I feel like I've been living in the Twilight Zone lately, so my brain's kind of in a fog at the moment.

It is quite possible the prescriptions were from different doctors. I had read that some of the prescriptions were from Europe. And if I remember correctly, he had been filming his latest film in London. What I find interesting is that the bottles were "nearly full". If he were trying to commit suicide like the media has been speculating, wouldn't some of those bottles be empty or nearly empty?

It's odd.....I'm still totally in shock over this death.....it doesn't seem like it could be real.

Will someone please explain to me just why it is that hoping the cause of death was drugs as opposed to, say, a heart attack is so evil?

Either way, the guy is dead. Why does me hoping I can use it to teach my kids a lesson make me evil?

Why does hoping it was a stroke (or whatever) make you a good person and me hoping it was drugs make me a bad one?

I cannot believe what I am reading. Who hopes for someone to be dead because of drugs? We are talking about a person here. A person who is DEAD!!! No one should be "hoping" it was drugs. I am in disgust over this post.

Again, I ask why it is worse to hope it was one cause of death over another.

I honestly consider other viewpoints. If someone can explain to me why it is better to hope the guy had a pulmonary embolism instead of ODing, then maybe I'll understand why everyone is so up in arms over me wanting to use it to drive home the "drugs are bad" thing.

Maybe I'm wrong, but don't see why hoping for one COD over another makes one person an angel and another the devil incarnate.

I get that everyone thinks I'm evil and disgusting. I'd just like the explanation of why.

Go to the tiger thread and post - that you are glad the teenagers were mauled and one killed by the tiger, and you wish you had pushed the others in the cage......you will totally redeem yourself.....

;) ;)

Seriously, I get your point and I don't think you are evil or disgusting. I don't even care about the whole fiasco, so I'm probably sure to burn in hell beside you.

Cool Beans, in my case it's because I'd much rather his daughter have the knowledge that her father died of something like an embolism than a drug overdose....it's going to be hard enough on her as she grows up. His family is the most important thing right now.

I guess I'll try and explain it.

It is heartless because you would like someone to die in a certain way for the sole purpose of teaching your kids a lesson. Did you not say I hope it is a drug overdose?

That's sick and frankly very creepy.
