Heat, Headaches but So Much Fun! My June Birthday TR (Trip Wrap-Up 10/12)

I got a pin for free dining a few weeks ago and I had asked DH prior to that if we did happen to get one could we go in Dec. for Claire's b-day. He said no with out even a thought. But we usually go in March, and it would just be a few months earlier and we would save so much more money. He's clueless on that part. It makes me so mad. LOL!
MIL told me yesterday I should push it, but I don't think I will. He's always grumpy at Christmas time anyways. He hates that I actually have to spend money top buy gifts for people. Bh Humbug there! LOL!

So sorry to hear that. Free dining saves SO much money!

I know what you mean! We started calling my dh "The Grinch" last Christmas. He was a total sourpuss. We were in the car and Christmas music came on the radio, he reached out and turned it off. He complained about everything we had to do for the Christmas party -- for his family! And he really does almost nothing for Christmas -- he shops for my presents and wraps them, and cooks Christmas breakfast and dinner. I do everything else -- planning, decorating, cards, family letter, mailings, presents, wrapping, baking, stockings, costumes for pageants -- you get it!

He is awesome and I adore him, but I don't get why makes him so

I don't know how anyone could not like Christmas. It's my favorite holiday! My DH enjoys putting up the tree and decorating, so I guess I'm lucky!

I love the dancing photos, my cousin used to do the same!!

I just love Irish dancing. It's so much fun to watch.

I'm so jealous that you're leaving in 5 days!!! I can't seem to stop myself from looking at all of the different rates for fall/winter (room only, free dining). Of course, it's just not going to happen, but a girl can dream, right? You just HAVE to pre-order the photopass cd. It's one of the best things Disney has ever invented.

Day Two
June 25th
10:30ish in the Morning

After we made our way to the exit, we had to weave our way over to the resort monorail.

I just had to take a pic of the Grand Floridian!

I really love the Mickey balloons on the monorail windows. They were not there back in January

I asked if we could sit up front with the driver, but the CM told me they weren't seating anyone in the front right now. Bummer! Anyways.....we took a lovely ride on the monorail over to the Contemporary. I haven't been inside that resort in years! They've made so many changes. We were a bit early, but we were allowed to check-in for our 11:25am breakfast at Chef Mickey's. We took our plate picture and had a seat (around 11:15am). We ended up waiting awhile, but nothing too bad. We pulled out Madison's Guide to the Magic book and took a few pics.

We were seated in the seating area off to the left of the entrance. It was just perfect, but I felt a little close to the people on either side of us. I noticed that Donald and Pluto were making their rounds, but I figured they would be back later to greet us. I was wrong! We had just gotten settled with our camera ready and autograph book opened when Donald came over for a visit.

Pluto came over right as Donald moved on to the next table.

We were told the other characters would be around shortly, so we should help ourselves to the food.

My first plate of food. I could really go for a Mickey waffle right about now.

As we were eating, all of the characters came out and it was time for napkin twirling. Well, Madison wasn't into at all and I'll admit it, neither was I. I was too busy eating! While all of the excitement was happening, our lovely waitress brought this out for me.

A delicious chocolate cupcake with a candle!!!! I was so excited.

After the twirling of napkins ended, the other characters came around to say hello.

After our delicious and filling breakfast (more like a brunch), we took the monorail back to the MK. As we made our way to the bus stop, we noticed that a Pop bus had just pulled up. After I took this picture,

we started running to catch it. Luckily, there were seats available so we were able to catch our breath and cool off. When we got back to Pop (around 1:15pm), Tony and Madison headed back to the room to get on their swimsuits while I looked around the store. I was so happy to see that they had the "Wishes" cd! So, I bought it with my birthday fun card. Yippee!!! When I got back to the room, I saw this on the bed waiting for me.

On the back of the photopass card, it said that I was able to get 20% off any photopass purchase. Even though we had already preordered the cd, I thought it was pretty cool. While Tony and Maddie went for a swim, I took a nap. My headache was still there and I really needed a rest. We were headed to Epcot that night and we were all very excited.

I am glad that you enjoyed Chef Mickey's breakfast. Was it really good or just okay? Is it comparable to Crystal Palace food wise? We did CM for Supper in January and are thinking of trying it for breakfast next time!

Thanks Kim! We did miss out on a lot of stuff decoration wise back in January. Chef Mickey's breakfast is very good. In my opinion, Chef Mickey's and CP are pretty even food wise for breakfast. I really enjoyed both places and would definately go back again.

I don't think I've ever seen yeti slippers, but I love the stuffed yetis that they have at AK. They're so adorable! We had such a wonderful time at Chef Mickey's that morning. I can't wait to go back (someday).

The headache was quite bothersome, but I tried not to let it ruin my day. CM's was awesome!

I didn't get a ride photo, but we used that photopass card for all of our pictures for the rest of the trip.
