Health Symptom Question

Ok, I was talking to my friend, and she was saying how her husband hasn't been feeling well lately...he has gone to the dr, got an antibiotic, and going back again, but still doesn't feel right. I thought maybe someone here may have gone thru this. It may just be a virus, not sure yet. Anyway, his blood pressure is slightly high, he says his arms have been bugging him, kindof tingly, and cold and heavy, and once in awhile his chest feels like he just coughed hard (her words) and once in awhile lightheaded. Dr. is going to run bloodwork tomorrow, but figured I'd see if anyone here had any ideas for them. I know no one here is a doctor, but with all the people here, someone may have an idea before their appt tomorrow.

Sorry I can't help you with a diagnosis, but I did want to mention that this is a perfect example of the missuse of an antibiotic.. If they don't know what's wrong with him, why would they just write a script for an antibiotic? Lots of doctors do it and that's why people are building up immunities to antibiotics and then when they really need them, they're up the creek..

Hope they get to the bottom of the situation.. Scary when someone is sick and they don't know why..

It sounds like he needs a thorough checkup with bloodwork and possibly a stress test. I would be concerned about his heart with the symptoms you describe.

Since chest pain and tingly arms are classic signs of heart attacks, if he were my DH, I'd at least call the doctor. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with him (how the heck would I know?), or that I know more than the doctor who has his chart and examined him - I'm sure I don't. But I'd call the doc.

i'm with the consensus-when i read your post, my first thought was that your friend's DH might be on the verge of a heart attack. PLEASE suggest he have an EKG and stress test. my dad had a heart catheterization in september, 2004, and was in such bad shape (3 blockages), he wasn't allowed to leave the hospital afterward and had heart bypass surgery first thing the next morning. i hope all his well w/ your friend's husband, and it turns out to be nothing
