I have a group of 8 adults going on our usual October trip and decided to do the Grand 1 instead of the Illuminations Cruise this time. Obviously, I assumed since the booking date would be 90 days out as stated. Well....I called 2 days ahead of time to get some info about times, etc. I had to leave a message and the next day I received a call and was told that the day I wanted was already booked. Of course, I say that the 90 window is not until the following day so how could it be booked. I am informed that they are more "casual" about the booking dates for the Grand and the day of the month....say the 26th of July, you can book the 26th of October. This was not a major deal to me this time, but it did change my plans considerably.

So....if you really want a specific date, be sure to call ahead of time to confirm the booking window.

And......since my cruise is now on night of MNSSHP (another problem with the date since I was hoping to see Wishes...some 1st timers in my group)....and someone has stated there will be will some changes in the fireworks......I am now wondering if I should try to change my cruise to a night that there will be a Wishes display. :confused3

I think the fireworks during the parties are much more similar to the old Fantasy in the Sky, although I think I read they may be tweaking them. There are a few moments of perimeter fireworks during the parties. I would book for a Wishes night, since the Grand One is so expensive.

I read on another board that there is a special "hallo-wishes" being prepared.

This cruise is priced hourly @ $400 per hour and you choose how long you want to cruise. You can also call GF dining and they will email you a menu of items that you can have onboard. The Grand 1 is a 45ft yacht instead of the pontoon boats that do Illuminations. We really enjoyed our Illuminations cruise last year, but the guys were drinking beer and would have really appreciated a restroom.

If you would like, I can email you the menu that GF sent to me.

Thanks for the offer of further assistance. We're going to pass, since my youngest son isn't too into fireworks yet.

melanieerwr, could you please e-mail me with the menu (amyathome@comcast.net)? I am looking into booking this for our December cruise through the CR concierge (hopefully, they will be able to get it) and am wondering what sort of options/cost is involved in the food.

Thanks so much!
