Disney will perform a reservation-system enhancement beginning at 4 p.m. Eastern time (1 p.m. Pacific) on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010, and lasting until Thursday morning, Oct. 14

During this time, our systems will not be fully functional and we will not be able to process room-only or vacation-package reservations for the Walt Disney World Resort by phone or online. This includes making new resort reservations, making modifications to existing resort reservations, providing confirmations or taking payments.

We also will be unable to process reservations for dining, dinner shows, tours, recreation and children's activity centers at the Walt Disney World Resort, as well as for Cirque du Soleil La Nouba, and Clients temporarily will be unable to access Disney's Online Check-In Service.

Please note that this enhancement project also will affect our systems between 6 p.m. Eastern time (3 p.m. Pacific) on Oct. 19, 2010, and morning on Oct. 20, 2010. This overnight system impact will be repeated three additional times through November and December. These dates and times are subject to change, so please check..

In case anyone has those dates circled for any reason!:)

Question: we are scheduled to arrive at Disney just as this is taking effect. In the unlikely event that we are extremely unhappy with our reserved accommodation, are we stuck with it for the duration of the outage?

I am sure they would endeavour to resolve any issues? How they function internally at times such as this I can't say? :confused3

Disney always aim to please so I would presume they would work with you.

I imagine that this might include adding the next year's DCL into the reservation system. Finally will be able to book into 2012! :D

Disney starts assigning rooms approx 10 days before your arrival date so you should have your requests by then assigned. If you aren't happy when you get there, they will try to accomodate you right there, which from what I understand, has nothing to do with the reservation system.

Remember, requests aren't guarenteed unless you've paid for them (preferred room).

Their system will likely show what other rooms are available and clean in case of wanting to move within that Resort, but I am sure your room will be perfect KB!:thumbsup2

Thanks, just trying to be prepared here. We're at OKW and the reviews on that place are either fantastic or horrible. There aren't many bad ones, but the bad ones that are out there are pretty bad, and all of them have something to do with very dirty rooms. I'm sure ours will be fine, but I've been deep in the throes of Disney-planning for like a month now. It's like every detail that could possibly be overlooked must be pounced on. :)

Oh they will be able to even call Housekeeping for clean & ready to go room availablity if you have an issue.

:thumbsup2
