HEADS UP....Dream/Magic Itinerary Change Fall of 2014

I looked on the website and there is no Nov. 10 showing.

I don't think it is completely updated yet.....My TA thought maybe within a week all of the modified dates would be put in.....

I wonder if those sailing on the Magic out of Miami have gotten notification emails as to the changes on their end?

Since this will affect a bunch of people I have renamed the title of this thread to give a heads up to people (sorry OP).

I was booked on Nov 13 and it looks like my reservation will be moved to Oct 23. I guess we will most likely lose our room assignment too, which I was excited about. I booked on day 1 so I would have the best choice of room (as well as lowest price, although the prices have been holding). Now I need to see if the new date will work for me, and what room I end up with.

I am booked then, too- why is it you think we would lose our cabins? It's the same ship- just changed dates. :confused3

ETA: Oh I see- because it's consolidated. I didn't realize this was already a cruise. Hmmm..... wonder what they'll be doing about that-

ETA AGAIN! It was what I originally thought- the 3 night 10/23 peeps are being moved to another sailing- so there should not be a cabin change for any of us switching to the 23rd from Nov 13th. Can't say what will happen to those 10/23 3 night cruisers who will now be switched to the 16th-

Can you add the Dream to the title -- because that was the OPs ship as well as mine (my post was moved here) -- so I figure other Dream cruisers will be looking for info, too.

Thanks! :goodvibes

I hope this isn't to dumb of a question...I saw multiple post about airfare, how can people already have airfare for dates that are over a year away? We are sailing 10/27/13 and recently purchased our airfare. We usually drive so I'm not super familiar with airlines....thanks

I know most people are not happy with being moved around, but a double dip on October 23 could really work for us! I'm thinking about booking it, but it's not coming up on DCL's website. Any idea why not?

This sucks royally for NJ folks planning on using teacher's convention days...

That's us... we may have to cancel now as the girls were already missing 3 days of school (Mon-Wed) and I don't want to add an additional day now that the cruise returns on a Monday as opposed to Sunday.

We can always "just" do the parks, but the cruise was a special surprise for them... at least they won't know what they are missing...

I thought I was doing us a favor by booking SO FAR in advance, now it's just causing me a headache...

For those concerned about folks who purchased airfare, this should not be a problem. These are Oct/Nov 2014 sailings...airfare typically is posted a year in advance, and I'm making a guess no one has purchased it already this far in advance. ;)

Total bummer. What about spring instead?

Total bummer. What about spring instead?

We are doing WDW first and prefer to go around Christmas for the deocrations.

Also, I just got this email from my TA:

"However, we should do nothing now and check back on June 11 because my sales rep tells me there may be more changes to itineraries before then."

We are booked on the Thanksgiving Magic cruise in 2014. I wouldn't care sailing out of PC instead since we were planning to pair it with WDW, but I will be bummed if we on,y go to Nassau instead of Cozumel.

We received an email for DCL stating that they are relocating the Magic and they are changing the Sunday and Thursday sailings to Monday and Friday sailings for the Dream. What was weird is that every other sailing on the email only changed by one day (from Thursday to Friday) but ours changed from Nov. 13 to Oct 23rd.

Disney has done similar things in the past when a corporation reserves the ship for weeks they have already sold to passengers, or they decide to have a strictly DVC cruise. Many threads on here about how it throws everybody's timing into turmoil. For the life of me, I will never understand how a cruise line can just "assume" that someone can reposition their vacation dates! The better customer service move would have been to contact you personally (via a live person on the phone) and offer you a choice of dates! :sad2:

I agree. mmouse37, please oh please include Dream in the title.

Because they are still realigning it.

Seems the cruises scheduled are moving all around, and hoping they keep our rooms assigned to us even while moving, they can't take NEW bookings while doing that.

I am SO glad I checked this thread (well, clicked on a moved thread that was merged into this), and I really hope the moderator gives the Dream info in the subject line as well because that double dip is important to those of us who have it booked!

And after seeing this thread I checked my emails, and there it is. I cannot believe they tell us to wait until the 11th to call with questions. Rude!

Based on what I just saw, I would recommend NOT looking in your cruise accounts right now. Right now my account shows me booked in January 2015, in a room on deck 9. With checking starting in October 2014.

Yeah...not correct.

Trying to remember that Disney is really really REALLY bad at creating proper things to look at while they are fixing problems, that it will be OK, etc, and that to get in the middle of the process and do something manually by way of a CM would be a BAD idea, but wow, it's hard.

Back to sitting on my hands...

As if this has not be confusing enough I did just receive and second DCL email with all the info about our cruise and like the previous poster my reservation info was all off with us sailing in Jan of 2015. My only concern now is that the random cruise cost more and so the deposit is higher. Since this is the wrong cruise and I don't want to do anything until it gets resolved will my not making another payment (to match the new deposit) cause me to lose my reservation? I am most likely going to have to change my cruise but don't want to do anything until after the 11th but also don't want to lose my OBB benefits.

Don't take anything that shows in your account right now as the truth. Mine says I need to make a payment too. Don't. The email says to contact them after the 11th, and I imagine that is to give them time to make it all correct.

Hmm... You'd think they would have gotten all of these logistics worked out prior to releasing the dates!

This isn't the first time DCL has done this, and it probably won't be the last. The good thing is that it is more than a year in advance, which is much better notice than what past cruisers have received. DCL has a reputation for revising cruise itineraries at the last minute now. At least no one has booked hotels or airfare that isn't refundable, like on that last med cruise with just a few months notice because a company chartered the ship. Then there was the time DCL cancelled the MR cruises and moved the Wonder to Galveston. Of course, those cruises didn't sell well and DCL changed them multiple times.

Sorry about that....I have added Dream to the title. I did not read the whole thread, just some posts....are the Fall Magic cruises affected too? If not I will delete Magic from the title.
