Heading back to Princess Josie's Castle-An AKV May 22-29 PTR-TR Started 6/3!

Hi everyone! Hope everyone had wonderful Thanksgivings with lots of good food and family. :goodvibes Since Josie has been sick things became far less rushed. We were able to get our tree up, most of the outside decor up and Joe has built our parade float. I just have to decorate it and finish the girls' cosumes. :thumbsup2 I've also had more time to work on my homework. So all in all it's worked out just fine. I've found some cool stuff on family.com and wanted to share with my readers with little ones. Here is a link to some really cool Disney Christmas printables and crafts! My kids love this kind of stuff and I hope you find something fun for your kids to do also. It works wonders on cold winter days indoors. Hope you enjoy! :goodvibes

Thanks for the link Leanne!! My girls will have fun with this for sure!! :goodvibes Glad to hear you had a nice Thanksgiving and got a lot accomplished!! :goodvibes

Hi May buddy! Just wanted to let you know I made it over here, but gosh, you have a lot of pages already! I'll be leaving work soon, and probably won't be able to finish your PTR until tomorrow. ;)

We heard all about that record drowning rain last year--we were there from May 30 - June 7. Can't wait to read more of your PTR!!

So glad everyone is doing better! Jeff seems to be fine and Cayley's cough has broken up and is on it's way out. Thanks for the link to the coloring pages etc. I will check it out when Av gets home.

Thanks! Leanne
we printed out a bunch of pages today...
so far, we have done the mickey and friends countdown calendar and a color page...tomorrow we are doing the color in ornaments
lots of fun!!

:wave2:

You are always :welcome: come on over anytime!!! :upsidedow
the more the merrier and I bet Josie and Chloe would get along wonderfully (Ashton loves to make new friends--he is just rough; like a little boy)
I would so love a craft day. I'm sure Josie would get along just fine with Chloe and Ashton. She is daycare girl, she's a tough cookie. I'm sure they would all have a big time playing together. :goodvibes

Hi to you too! :welcome: Glad you came over. :goodvibes More DIS buddies to plan with! How exciting! :woohoo:

The rain did make it a little more difficult to navigate but overall we had a great time. I've got my fingers crossed that we get much better weather in 2010. :goodvibes

Excellent news Mary! I'm glad they are feeling better. So far so good here too!

Hope you find some fun activities to do with the girls on family.com.

How fun Connie!!1 I like the countdown calendar too. Be sure to post some pics of all of your beautiful creations.

Tonight, we had our last Girl Scout meeting before the parade on Saturday. We finished all of the girls' costumes. They look so cute. Despite it being 38° on Saturday it should be a lot of fun. Joe and I will be working on the float almost nonstop on Thursday and Friday since they are calling for a rain/snow mix Wednesday and Thursday morning. I will be sure to post some pics of the final product. It probably won't happen until Sunday though because Joe and I will be going to his work's adult Christmas party...I'm so excited that we are going on another date so soon. :woohoo: Joe works for a great company. This weekend is the adult party and next weekend is the kids party. They go all out for both. :cool2: Lots of fun distractions coming up!

on a side note, this year Joe and I are trying out the Elf on the Shelf. i have to say that I am pleasantly surprised. We are having a big time with the girls. Every morning I awake to one of the girls telling me where they found Alvin. (That's what they decided to name their elf). It's so cute to see the excitement on their faces.

Hope everyone is having a great week! Talk to you soon!!! :goodvibes

How fun! and busy...
that is wonderful that they do an adult and kid party!! Danny's party (or should I say dinner)is next Friday...I wish it were this Friday!
sounds cold hope the girls' costumes are warm...
Have a great day! tomorrow and careful in that weather (everything closes down w/weather like that here :upsidedow )

Busy week but HOPEFULLY things will slow down a little after that. I will still have two classes and the troop to attend to but i won't be working on a float every evening. The kids party is pretty cute. They have a clown or a magician come in and then they have snacks and drinks. Finally, Santa arrives and brings every child there a toy that's valued at $20-$30 each. They have photographers taking pictures, etc. It's really fun. The girls get a huge kick out of it.

It's going to be cold for sure during the Christmas parade. I think we will probably try to rotate girls into the truck if they are getting too cold. I asked the Mom's and Dad's to dress them really warm but only time will tell if they listened or not. I have some great parents and I have some not so great parents. I am making plans to be able to accommodate all. Don't need a troop full of sick little girls.

OOOOH! Have fun with the parade and all this weekend! The party seems nice as well. Those are some nice gifts!

Your weekend sure does sound cold. We may hit 60 this weekend - upper 50s forecast. I can caount on one hand the number of times it has snowed let alone had snow mix here in S. LA.

Can someone take some winter snow pictures for me? I have seen actual snow on the ground once in my life.

Sixty would be great for this parade! You are so lucky!

I have some snow pics I can share. We rarely get snow here in KY. Almost two years ago, I took the girls back home (to Michigan) for a weekend. There was 12 inches on the ground and more falling when we got there. It was so fun!!! I will post some pics from that trip if you'd like to see them.

Hope you are having a great day (and the weathers not too bad)!

wanted to share our fluke snow storm last year...
Megan I wish I had the one of the table on the patio on the computer to share (we got hit the hardest last year--took almost a week for it all to melt)... I remember Dayne waking me up telling me he could not go to school and I was so upset with him--than he said WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A SNOW STORM, MOM! we had a total of 9" on most of the area; the table on the patio measured 12" it was awesome to have a Louisiana snow storm :yay:
this was the beginning of December (I think Megan and I live a total of about 60 miles from one another--if that if you draw a straight line and not go by road ways) by Christmas day I think it was in the 60's again:confused3:rotfl2:
probably won't happen again for many-a-years...

Thanks Leanne! It's funny that I mention the whole snow issue now. We have a cold front stalled over us right now, and for the second year in a row, the stars may align and give us a little bit of snow this weekend. They are saying right now, though, that it is likely to skip New Orleans and the areas south of the city. Hi, that would be me! The rest of the state is forecast to receive either snow or winter mix. I'd love to see the pics!

Connie - That is unbelievable. I am posting the picture of what I assuming is the same one day last December that we had snow. It snowed here for a total of 15 minutes. Notice nothing on the ground. I was the only one out there in my jacket because I am like a big ice cube during this time of year. I was FREEZING I guess I live in the right spot. Are you forecast for snow this weekend?

CasieIinthesnow.jpg

too funny, Megan! yes that would have been the same day...
it started snowing at my house at 5:30 am and did not stop until 12 noon...and it actually looked like a blizzard. Danny was at work (he works out of Avondale shipyard for a heavy const company)...he could not believe the snow we had. Everyone had snow from the southshore, along I55, and when he got about 5 mi from home he said it really starting piling up...the front had stalled right on top of us:confused3:

and yes we are forecasted for the winter mix; but, I think we are at the very bottom of the forecast so HOPEFULLY it skips us...it was fun and nice to see and play in. But, losing power and knowing that Dayne has to work is not my idea of fun this year...

:rotfl2:Oh you Southern Belles are so funny!!!:lmao:You have to experience a Blizzard !!!!:scared1: Like when you can't see your neighbors house and it only a few feet away!!!:lmao:

Hey! we live on the tropical belt...we're not suppose to get white stuff:lmao::rotfl2: we don't know what to do, how to drive...we deal with the rain, floods and hurricanes.... (hope not anytime soon)
:rotfl2::rotfl2: we are currently in preps to batten down for the 1"-3" we were just forcasted for tomorrow night and through noon on Saturday...:rotfl2::rotfl2:

was caught in a real blizzard in CO once while driving through the Rocky's not fun:eek:...would not want to deal with that on a regular yearly basis...

Believe me I don't want to deal with it either !!!!!:lmao:But 1 to 3 " is NOTHING ! It's when it's FEET!!!:scared1:
