AHH I KNEW IT!!! CONGRATULATIONS!
That is just so sweet! I'm sitting here tearing up over my morning coffee. I wish DF could have proposed to me in Disney. How sweet!! :lovestruc I will definitely head over and check out your PJ.

I knew it! =) Congrats!!! What a wonderful way to spend your first day at Disney World and how romantic to be proposed at CRT. I love the glass slipper. Have fun planning!!

Congrats to you both! That is a fantastic story and so cool that Josh proposed at the Castle. Didn't take him long to figure it out.

Congrats again!

Thank you!

I just love the story!

I am so glad I found someone who gets Disney!

What a great trip report! I love the introduction, and of course the proposal. The picture of your parents looking on is so sweet. Congratulations to you and Josh. I can't wait to hear the rest!

Thank yOU!

I love that picture!

Coming up soon!

I already commented on the other thread, but I wanted to also say that the proposal was ADORABLE! I loved reading it. What a surprise!!! How did you know he was going to propose that day?

Thank you!

I knew he was going to propose but I wasn't sure what day. Since he was so adamant he wasn't leaving the plane after the issues and said it would mess up the proposal coming a day later I figured it out

Wow, so far behind already... "time to do the m-" Uhh, I mean catch-up! ;)

Oh wow, so early for a trip that truly doesn't begin until 7 hours away, but I can totally relate. Though my last two trips, I've had to get up early for long drives off to the airports with flights just at the crack of dawn, but I'm pretty sure I stayed up all night. The things that Disney does to you, so very magical

I know! I am so upset we got to the airport so early! It is magical although I would appreciate more rest!

Oh gosh, definitely doesn't look like a great start to the trip. I can't believe that dress had been broken at the seams, not torn, but broken, cheap! More reason to throw it away. And I can't believe your flight got delayed two hours and then the flight was just as awful. I guess that's why people dub it as air-sucky-tran. :/ But at least you got an extra night in Disney in return! Love the pictures of the magical gates and the lovely ME buses

It wasn't but it turned around quickly! I know I was so upset about my dress! AirTran usually isn't that bad but this time around it was. I do love that they have XM Radio on their flights though! I always listen to Radio Disney

Oh wow... BIG update! I love all your pictures, you really do get pictures of everything. I'm sorry you didn't find your Penguin Vinylmation, well, always next trip! And yeah, Josh does have a "Situation" look, in that pose. And I can't believe you can't take pictures of the paintings and portraits and stuff inside Art of Disney I was so hoping to show off the first few additions to the gallery in the mansion I would soon own :p Definitely got to make note of the hands in World of Disney (btw, where is Mickey and Minnie on their little flying machine, I'm a hundred percent sure they were there in February!) and the Mashed Potatoes at Wolfgang Puck's

Yep  I am notorious for taking way too many pictures! I am hoping I find it next trip or that I get some vinylmations for Christmas or my birthday :thumbsup2 Someone commented on Facebook looking like the Situation so I had to post about it! You can take pictures of the stuff just don't let anyone catch you! I think Mickey and Minnie are in the main room :confused3

On to the next time...

That's awesome you got ADRs at CRT, such a great place then to add in Josh's first monorail ride (<3333 MONORAIL!) and then to see the train preparing for Rope Drop with all the characters waving at you, so sweet It definitely looks like a great start to a great day. Love the Photopass!

He loved the monorail! It wasn't our last trip on it either! It was a great start to the day!

Oh, that's awesome to hear Caitlin got to do the flag ceremony with Josh. Coolness! I can't wait to see pictures of them doing that. Love the castle pictures, by the way (:

I actually didn't get to do it with him but we went to sign up together :thumbsup2 Thank you! I love them too!

Sorry to hear you didn't get to do the immediate Cinderella picture, hopefully at the end. Oooo... the food looks great. I'm really eyeing those sausages and the stuffed french toast, heard a lot of good things about that (: And then the princesses come along! Poor rudely-awoken-by-true-love's-first-kiss Aurora Haha @ the comment on Josh's flounder-y hair Oh, I wonder what was inside the covered tray...

It all made sense after the proposal though! It was so good! I loved the french toast!

Oh. My. Gosh! He proposed! I was so clueless then, probably because this is the first time reading your TRs, but wow, what a creative way to propose. And if you had said no, I'm pretty sure I'd be leaving this TR right now and I love how the whole moment was captured on camera. Such a magical way to get proposed. The ring is beautiful, by the way. I had a feeling by your mom's update, there was something VERY suspicious going on haha And that was awesome you got more pictures with Belle and got to keep the Wine flutes. Oh, what an update, what. an. UPDATE! Congratulations you two! (: Totally following your PTR now...

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

I think a lot of people were surprised! I know my grandpa was  I think Josh loved the comment about you leaving the TR  Thank you!

Congrats on the proposal!!:

Thank you!

that was so awesome!

Thank you!

What a great story! Congratulations!

Thank you!

I've been lurking for this trip report, but I had to come out of lurkdome after your last update.

Congratulations! Everything about your proposal story looked picture perfect and straight out of a fairytale. Josh did such an amazing job. I read your update while at work yesterday and it made me a bit teary eyed while working.

I can't wait to hear all about your wedding plans on your other pretrip report.

I feel like that update brought out a lot of lurkers

Thank you! It was definitely amazing! Aw

Just updated on the other report!

Aw

Yeah I think it was sped up some since we knew if we got married next year this would be our last trip until then. I told him I wanted a Disney proposal so I am so happy I got one!

I knew it! =) Congrats!!! What a wonderful way to spend your first day at Disney World and how romantic to be proposed at CRT. I love the glass slipper. Have fun planning!!

Thank you!

It was a great first day and it had only just begun!

I loved the proposal!

It is gorgeous and we have it out in my bedroom :lovestruc

I will!

Going to jump in here like everyone else to say Congrats!!!

I told my sisters about the proposal and we all agreed that it was so sweet and adorable. I think my youngest sister is hoping for a proposal like that one day, but she's almost 19 so maybe it'll happen sooner than she thinks.

How precious of a way to start out your lives together than in Cindrella's castle!! I love that picture of your mom and dad! I would love to be sitting there like that with my husband one day for my daughter! Can't wait to read all about you wedding! :lovestruc

Well, I picked a bad weekend to miss out on the DIS. Awesome update. Even though I knew it was coming, it was so lovely. What a great surprise. Love the ring. Love the slipper. Love the pictures. Awesome surprise!!!!! Just tell me this - did you actually eat your dessert or where you way too excited?princess:

Congrats! Some reason I thought that would happen this TR! I dunno why, maybe cause I'm getting married this week I could sense the wedding vibe! lol! I love how you explained how time doesn't matter when it's true love by relating to the princesses! So sweet. It is a fairytale, you were proposed to in a castle!!!

The rocks on the tray are representative of my favorite animals mating ritual. Penguins give each other rocks and if one penguin accepts they are together for life!

Funny, I just quoted some penguin facts on another TR. I did not know that about the rocks, though. Did Josh remember that and do it on his own? Or had you mentioned something like, "Wouldn't it be romantic if..."? Either way, I love it! :goodvibes

Love this photo. That's a moment that usually doesn't get captured and it's such a wonderful moment.

...I know it might be a little bit soon for us to get engaged so let's look at some fuzzy Disney math. All of the great Disney couples didn't know each other for very long. Cinderella danced once with her Prince took off and made him search for her and after she was found got married. Ariel fell in love with Eric while he was unconscious and hung out with him for a few days then got married. Aurora met her Prince once, fell asleep and when she woke up got married. Then my favorite couple Belle and Beast is probably the worst sort of meeting up. Beast took Belle hostage which is probably domestic abuse and then they got married. Long story short all of the Disney couples lasted forever without knowing each other very long

I used to shake my head at people who got married after knowing each other for only a short time. But after seeing so many marriages fail after long relationships while others thrive after short relationships... :confused3 You just know when it's right and you take a deep breath and take the plunge. If you're lucky and you work hard at it, the marriage holds. I'm stepping off my soap box now. Go ask your mom! :rotfl:

So then I said no and everyone in the restaurant looked super embarassed and our vacation ended there

Okay! Well thanks for the TR and I hope you guys go again real soon.

Whew!

I of course said "YES!!!!!!!!!!!!" The whole restaurant erupted in applause and it was marvelous!

That is so wonderful! What an amazing memory to have!

And here is my parent's reaction

Photo0090FourBySix.jpg

I love this picture. I love the way your Dad is lending strength to your Mom and how your Mom is barely keeping it together. A really powerful representation of two people with a strong yet tender relationship. Absolutely terrific. :goodvibes

Tell Josh to smile! You'll be easy to support until you're done with school 'cause you can eat off the kid's menu! :rotfl:

After a bit the initial shock had worn off and I realized I am in Disney with my fiance who has never been here before and we are wasting precious park time!

Ah, a true DISer. "Engagement, shmagement! There's touring to be done!"

Needless to say this was an amazing morning that I will never forget the day I turned into a Princess :bride:

Once again, congratulations to the both of you. I think you're off to a great start and I wish you well.

Penguins are pretty awesome! Josh just remembered to do that. I think I had mentioned it before when we were talking about our favorite animals but never when we talked about getting engaged. I was very impressed!

Love this photo. That's a moment that usually doesn't get captured and it's such a wonderful moment.

It was so much fun to see all of the pictures and be able to see my expression!

I agree! If two people love each other and are willing to work at a relationship then it doesn't matter how soon they get married.

Okay! Well thanks for the TR and I hope you guys go again real soon.

 That would have been so awkward!

Whew!

You made my mom tear up with this comment :cutie: I always told them I was waiting for someone I could have a relationship like theirs with. I grew up with a great role model of a loving relationship and knew I couldn't settle for less!

Tell Josh to smile! You'll be easy to support until you're done with school 'cause you can eat off the kid's menu! :rotfl:

 He always makes fun of me for looking so young!

Ah, a true DISer. "Engagement, shmagement! There's touring to be done!"

Hey! It was our first park we couldn't just sit there and soak in the moment! :sad2:

Once again, congratulations to the both of you. I think you're off to a great start and I wish you well.

Thank you!!

OMG, just got caught up. Congratulations!!!! How very romantic, you two are so lucky to have found each other.

I kind of had a feeling, so can I say that I was first when I suggested a new thread title for this trip report on your last trip report :)? Congrats, You See, some days are better than others! ;)

You can take the bragging rights for being first :thumbsup2 especially since you aren't on of the Facebook people

Yep some days are amazing!

Thank you! He was very nervous he didn't sleep well the night before! I know that's what we keep telling him! I told him no one will believe you were happy about it!

Since the proposal was such a momentous event for us as a family, not to mention a HUGE part of the magic of our vacation, we thought it would be good if each of the 4 of us shared our memories of that morning.

Here is my story......

A few weeks before our trip Josh came to Dale and I asking our blessing. To be honest, I didn't even know young men still did that. Dale didn't ask my dad and my dad didn't ask my mom's dad. Anyway, it certainly did not come as a surprise that he wanted to marry her. I'd known it would happen since their very first date. You see, when he walked into my mom's home that first night I heard a little voice. (PKONDZ I am giving you some great material here ) Now I do not hear voices on a regular basis, just special occasions :rotfl: All kidding aside.... The voice said, "This is it"

So when that kind, earnest and handsome young man asked for our blessing it was not a surprise. It also wasn't hard to know what to say. It is quite obvious to see just how much he loves her. It is visible in his words and actions and simply by the way he looks at her :lovestruc It is also apparent in the way that he fit in with our whole family from the start. I never thought Caitlin would find someone that her grandparents deemed worthy of her afterall, her grandpa was holding out for Justin Verlander :lmao: (he's a Detroit Tiger for you non-baseball fans) but even her very protective grandparents love him. Like Cinderella's slipper, Josh is a perfect fit.

Now onto the proposal day...

I'm sure you parents can understand how emotional that day was for me. As Dale and I approached the castle that morning I could already feel the tears welling up and I knew I'd have to work really hard to hold it together.

During breakfast as the princesses visited our table I kept remembering Caitlin as a little girl.....her first visit to WDW at 2......dressing like Belle or Jasmine for various Halloweens....pulling the sword out of the stone at age 5. You understand.

Finally breakfast finished and I saw the waitress with the tray. I was seated next to Josh so I gave him a little kick under the table because I didn't think he saw her. He didn't seem to react so I ended up kicking him 4 or 5 times

Being present at the proposal and seeing Caitlin's surprise and joy was an incredible gift that Josh gave Dale and me. It ws a beautiful morning and I'm so thankful I was there. It was also sort of surreal as I looked around and saw everyone watching our table. There were a couple college aged girls looking on with expressions like it was the most romantic thing they had ever seen. Little girls were watching and looking at Caitlin like she was one of the princesses. Then I noticed a woman who reminded me of my mom. She looked so happy for Josh and Caitlin. Then I saw her watching me cry and she gave me a comforting, knowing look. It helped.

The last thing I remember most about that morning is how gracious and wonderful everyone was to us. The Photopass photographer was wonderful! He took over 30 pictures of the ring alone! Then he took another 30+ during the proposal. Our server was also wonderful and she announced to the whole restaurant they had just become engaged. This prompted the rest of the guests, CRT staff and the princesses to treat them as celebrities. All the princesses came back to congratulate them and guests and staff all stopped to share good wishes as well. It was magic. The kind of magic you only get through Disney. The kind of magic that keeps us all going back year after year.

Thank you for letting me share with you. After the guys post later this week we will move on with the rest of that day. We still have so much more magic to share with you :goodvibes

You have me crying like a little baby! Mostly because as a mother of a quickly growing girl I understand where you are coming from! I think it is so wonderful that he is such a great fit and it has to be comforting seeing how much he loves Caitlin! What a perfectly magical day! And how wonderful that the wedding gets to happen at WDW!! :goodvibes

Awwww... it is so great to hear about how all of this played out for you, being the mother. When you say on the first date, you knew, that's pretty amazing, usually from what I hear (and I'm only 15, of course), relationships take months/years to really be relationships, not dates, or to convince people, but based on this, it is proven possible (Pixie dust...). The way you explain all this, it is only fitting the proposal and wedding happen in Disney. But what a magical way to start off your first day in the parks! (:
