Wow, I'm surprised after all the times I've been to Disney, I've never seen nor heard of the flag ceremony. I am looking forward to reading what it entails....
but.....
of course.....
I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing what is on that tray!

I can tell you a bit about the flag ceremony.....the tray...well not so much
The flag ceremony is held at 5pm everyday and a "veteran of the day" is chosen to assist. The veteran can be currently enlisted or a past member of the military from the United States or another country.

With 2 boys and 1 girl in our crew, we usually hear lots of groans when we talk of Princess Meals so we'll see how it goes...

So what was under the cover and on the tray?I know you all have been waiting for this so I won't hold you in suspense it was this!!!

The rocks on the tray are representative of my favorite animals mating ritual. Penguins give each other rocks and if one penguin accepts they are together for life! So in this case I had five rocks the ones on the plate and the one in the ring Also the glass slipper has our names engraved in it with the date and love, integrity, trust and faith because those are the things Josh promises me

I knew that he was going to propose this trip but I had no idea when or where and I know it might be a little bit soon for us to get engaged so let's look at some fuzzy Disney math. All of the great Disney couples didn't know each other for very long. Cinderella danced once with her Prince took off and made him search for her and after she was found got married. Ariel fell in love with Eric while he was unconscious and hung out with him for a few days then got married. Aurora met her Prince once, fell asleep and when she woke up got married. Then my favorite couple Belle and Beast is probably the worst sort of meeting up. Beast took Belle hostage which is probably domestic abuse and then they got married. Long story short all of the Disney couples lasted forever without knowing each other very long Mickey and Minnie have been together forever and aren't married. I am thinking Minnie won't sign a pre-nup

Anyway there I was sitting in Cinderella's Castle looking at this beautiful ring! We had our own Photopass person and while Josh got on one knee he was busy snapping away.

Josh said to me "You make me the happiest I have ever been. Would you make me the happiest man alive and be my wife?"

So then I said no and everyone in the restaurant looked super embarassed and our vacation ended there JK

I of course said "YES!!!!!!!!!!!!" The whole restaurant erupted in applause and it was marvelous!

And here is my parent's reaction

We were then told to stand for pictures

Our waitress came over with sparkling apple cider in champagne flutes

Josh looks super tired in all of these I guess he didn't get much sleep the night before


After the initial pictures my parents had ordered us these desserts

So beautiful and yummy!

I inspected the glass slipper then went back to hug Josh

Then one family picture

We sat down to eat some but the Photopass Photog Donovan knew Belle was my favorite Princess so he sent her back over for pictures with us

We then sat down to eat our desserts and Donovan said to come see Cinderella when we were ready

After a bit the initial shock had worn off and I realized I am in Disney with my fiance who has never been here before and we are wasting precious park time!

Josh and I headed down to see Cinderella

Then we headed back up to wait for our pictures to be printed


Josh got fancy with the rose petals and glass slipper

Donovan came over and gave us our booklet. Now for those of you familiar with CRT you get a package with a picture of the Castle, a picture of your family and Cinderella then 5x7s of your family and Cinderella. Well ours was special!

We had this picture of the glass slipper instead of the Castle

Then we had the regular picture of Cinderella and us

But our 5x7s were half Cinderella and half us with Belle


We thanked him profusely and after he left our waitress came back with free champagne flutes from CRT Yes we will be using these as our wedding toast champagne flutes

What an awesome and beautiful story! I knew what was coming and still got teary eyed! Congratulations!! And BTW...my DH and I got engaged 3 weeks after our 1st date and married 4 months later. We are very happily married and we are about to celebrate our 10 year anniversary! You know when it's real!!

Thank you! Dress shopping is the most fun. There is a great store in Plymouth called "I Do Too Bridal" inside Plymouth Manor. You should check it out. I was pleasantly surprised and that is where I ended up buying my dress from.
