hcg diet

Weight Watchers! You can eat real food and it can work for a lifetime. They just revamped their program. It is now called Freestyle and involves a lot less counting. It is now focusing more on eating lean proteins and more fruits and vegetables which just makes sense. It is also much easier to stick to because if you want a cookie or dessert, etc., you can have it. You just need to plan for it.

This is what I eat on a typical day when doing the plan.

Breakfast....Scrambled eggs with some sautéed spinach or veggies and a couple turkey sausages, coffee with Premier Protein as a creamer

Snack. Greek yogurt and some fruit

Lunch...soup, salad, or tuna or turkey sandwich in light bread with some chips and veggies with homemade ranch dip using Greek yogurt

Snack. Air popped popcorn sprayed with a little Olive Oil cooking spray and salt

Dinner...Baked Potato with Greek Yogurt on top, grilled chicken, and some vegetable

Dessert. Bowl of wild blueberries microwaved with a little sweetener and some Redi Whip topping

It is real food. Nothing is off limits. And most importantly, it works.

To me it just doesn't make sense to starve yourself to lose weight fast. It has been proven time and time again that when you do that, you gain it back just as quickly once you start to eat normal again. Weight Watchers teaches you to make good choices while eating normal all along.

Best of luck to you no matter what you choose!

That's a pretty nice nutrition plan you've got. Premier Protein as creamer...do you use the vanilla flavor? How does it taste? My daily breakfast is greek yogurt. I use non-fat plain, but put in one scoop of protein powder and some Splenda (I can't stand the taste of greek yogurt, have to make it tolerable).

My nutrition plan is very similar in concept...I don't use Weight Watchers or anything like that, just what I've learned over the years from reading and research...

Pre-workout - one scoop of protein powder. Sometimes I'll eat a few crackers, but not always.

Post-workout - three scoop protein shake.

Breakfast - greek yogurt as described above...6oz of yogurt, to be exact

Lunch - 4oz of lunch meat in a high fiber, high protein, low carb wrap. One piece of fruit (yeah, I know lunch meat has some downsides, but it's still high protein, low/no fat...turkey mostly)

Dinner - 6 to 8oz of lean meat, 2 or 2.5 servings of veggies

Snack - depends if I'm trying to bulk or maintain. Could be as simple as some fruit, like strawberries. Could be a peanut butter sandwich on low cal/high fiber bread...could be both.

Bedtime - I love ice pops, so we buy the zero sugar, 15 calories ice pops, I usually have 2.

I would suggest a crossfit gym. I attend crossfit with my 14 year old daughter. She is in better shape than me and I am the old woman in the class. I do what I can and they are very supportive. Let's just say the first day (and I am retired military but 100% disable upon retirement) I had to step to the bathroom to vomit, but then returned to finish the class. LOL.

I also did a fitness boot camp before joining the cross fit called Samantha Taylor Fitness. The bootcamp is reasonable priced but the regular membership is way more than I want to spend. They also are heavy on the KETO diet and when you join the boot camp they help you with meal planning to even provide KETO recipes that are approved by the fitness instructors as tasty. LOL. I did their KETO diet the first 4 of the 6 weeks before my body just didn't feed full and started eating normal again.

Diet is one thing, but I would join some sort of local fitness group that fits your needs. The HCG diet was more restrictive than the KETO diet as the HCG pretty much all I ate was bland chicken and green beans the entire time in extremely small portions. I am also a picky eater so that limits my choices even more.
I love CrossFit. The first week I threw up three times, but you keep going. By the end of the month, I was exercising like I never had before, and I have never felt stronger in my life. I unfortunately had to stop. I got preggo and put on bed rest, and then ended up having another baby about a year later, same story. Im going to look up a CrossFit class today and try to get back in one Thanks for inspiring me.

As an actual registered dietitian with NUTRUTION SCIENCE degree ALL quick fix miracle cure diets crud. Period. And doctors may-may- get a single nutrition class through their training. In other words- they are just as easily swayed by articles on popular fluff media as anyone else.

Real weight loss and fitness requires work. Actual planning meals with real food, cooking said food, and regular physicals activity-strength training, flexibility and cardio. Period. That's it.
:thumbsup2
Or as my doctor said, "eat less, do more." That is step one.
Thank you for your reply. But my doctor insisted to lose weight as I am obese with 220 pounds.
Can anyone suggest me an alternative to lose weight?
I did weight watchers. Like you I was obese. I've lost 50 pounds, and still going.
Find a different doctor.
Exactly. I wouldn't trust a doctor that went with the latest fad.

I lost 65 pounds.

1) Track your calories in MyFitnessPal
2) Walk at least 2 miles a day
3) Eat mostly vegetables and lean protein

Once I got some weight I started running and that helped me so much. I can't run anymore due to foot pain but I walk at least 2 miles every day.

I've known people that have done HCG and they gained the weight back. My naturopathic doctor recommended it for me also, I said no thanks.

Klayfish...I actually do like the taste...but only in coffee. I am not a fan of protein drinks and powders though. But I started using the Caramel flavored Premier Protein in my coffee and now I love it. One container is only 160 calories and 30 grams of protein. One container usually lasts me three days as coffee creamer.

I also use nonfat plain Greek yogurt. I mix a packet of Stevia or Truvia in it along with some real vanilla extract. It is my go to snack to fill me up quick and keep me full.

Thanks for the awesome suggestion, I think I might just try that.

I use the protein shakes because it's hard for me to get enough protein through things like meats, etc...I take in about 250-300g of protein/day...that would be so much chicken that I'd burp feathers. :D DW and I use giant bags of Muscle Milk protein that we get at Costco. But I do use Premier Protein when I travel for race weekends, as I don't want to bring the powder, my shaker bottle, etc...with me. I like Premier Proteins' taste anyway...I'll have to try that in my coffee to see what I think. Do you also add a sweetener (Splenda, Stevia, etc...) or does the Premier Protein help?

I know it's an old thread, but as others have said, calories in need to be less than calories burned, however you plan to do it.

I started Noom (calorie counter/coaching) in mid September 2017 at 305 pounds, morbidly obese. I also got a FitBit at the same time. So far, I've lost 54 pounds, with just under 100 more to go.

I'm not doing anything fad, nor do I really weigh anything other than potato chips or meats because I have portion problems with them.

I do walk about 15,000 steps per day (okay, only 10,000/day on weekends), and have recently added strength training to it twice a week.

If you listen to podcasts, I love "Losing 100 pounds with Phit and Phat." It's a great no-nonsense take on weight loss. She recommends "eating between the 2's." Thinking of a scale from -10 to +10, with -10 being as hungry as you can be and +10 being as full as you can possibly be, she recommends eating when you feel a slight whisper of hunger (-2) and only until you're a bit satisfied (+2). It's a great visual for me.

Getting fat didn't happen to me overnight, and I understand it's not going to go away overnight, as much as I'd like it to. Baby steps. The tortoise beats the hare every time.

Klayfish..I don't use any sweetener in my coffee. But I also never used sugar in it anyway so I don't feel like it needs to be sweet. I have used the vanilla but prefer the caramel more. It's not necessarily sweeter or taste like caramel, but for some reason I prefer it. Give it a shot...if you already like Premier Protein alone it will probably be an easy switch for your coffee.

Do not do the hcg diet! I only did it for a month and ended up having to have my gallbladder removed. It's common when your body goes into starvation that stones form in your gallbladder.

Hate this time of year! Every other commercial is for weight loss program or supplement.

Sure people might lose 15 pounds in 21 days doing this but think closely - you first cleanse which means a quick loss of weight and water, then 500 calories a day! You think once you're done with this hcg stuff you will continue on the restrictions for the rest of your life! No way for most and that quick weight loss will come back faster and with added pounds.

Best way is sensible diet and exercise(source). Drink plenty of water. Simple changes. It didn't take you a month to put on a bunch of weight so don't expect it to come off quickly and stay off. Write down honestly what you eat and measure and weigh food-what you think is a portion is probably more like 2-3 portions, especially in restaurants.

Also those pushing these quick loss things don't care about you. They want your money and will claim how fantastic it is, tell you what you want to hear.

Thanks for sharing the steps that need to be followed while we are on HCG Diet.
