Praline, that is so cool about your brother and SIL. I have heard of that happening a lot!:rotfl: You're right...God must have a sense of humor.:lmao:

I am going to have to run that VIP thing by my disfunctional family. :rotfl: I called the GF concierge(s) tonight and now have all my ADRs for July booked....I booked some good stuff.:thumbsup2 Also, Jojo wanted the Adventures in Cooking so that's done and then Lucy decided she is too old so I need to get her out of it. :sad2: I want Kelly to go in July and split the Grand 1 with me.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Do you think we can talk her into that???:rotfl: It'd be a DEAL if it were split in two.:thumbsup2 I hope she's having a fun time. I'd rather do the Grand 1 than the VIP thing becuase I don't plan on much park time - mostly R&R by the pools.

Johnsonet - that is so great you get to go for Mothers Day! You are having my trip!!!!!!:rotfl: YOu'll have to come back and report on all the fun and beautiful weather.:) I ran the quick weekend getaway by DH and he didn't bite:rolleyes: ...and then my washing machine died yesterday and that was THAT.:guilty: The YC is my second favorite resort. It is VERY like the Gf. For relaxing it's nice....the pool area is gorgeous and lush and it's nice to lounge and sip fluffy drinks. :goodvibes My kids love to swim, so SAB is wonderful. THey show movies on the beach at night on a large screen. We love strolling around the boardwalk in the evenings, too, or renting the cute little surrey bikes. It's a fun area, but I know if you're devotedly a MK girl, it might feel like a different vacation being on the Epcot side. I used to not feel like I was at WDW until I had that castle view but I've been there and seen it so many times and now the kids are older so I enjoy the BW area, too...especially since we go during super busy times of the year and hving the walking power helps w/exit crowds. Over summer I booked a YC/GF RPC split. That's my summer standard.:thumbsup2 Have a great time!:goodvibes

Mare,
those Mush are wonderful!!!! I live in them all summer here and down in FL.:)

Fishy - I LOVE margaritas!!! You have me intrigued. I am going to check it out!!!!! Sounds wonderful.:goodvibes

Good evening, ladies!

Love the pics of the podcast crew! Had to Google them myself a few months ago, so I could see if the pictures in my head matched. I'm with you, Mare - I would NOT have expected Pete and Kevin to look like that! I'm very curious about John.

Mandy - I'm going to be in WDW during the podcast taping. I'd love to go, just trying to figure out what my mom might think about it! I wish they were doing it on property, rather than at the Gaylord. I'll have a rental car, but I still don't like to get outside those Disney gates until I leave for the airport! I'll let you know if I decide to go, so we can try to say "hi"!

Kristin - don't feel bad about your planning notebook. ;) I used to make charts, but just write out notes on a legal pad at this point, and tear off the sheets and put it in a folder to take with me. Now, my folder does have a "place for everything, and everything in its place", but it's a system I devised for work, and it also happens to work for planning WDW trips! Good luck finding your shorts!

Channing - the BM faux tan is like another face color that you apply - it's just a tint for that day - not like true self-tanner. I bought some a couple of weeks ago, and really like it! I use that instead of warmth - it gives me better color, and looks more natural. I only have to use a teeny bit, too, so I'm thinking the canister is a lifetime supply!

That rock thing sounds interesting - what could you possibly do with it? Guess I'll be setting the DVR for QVC on Friday!

Johnsonet - if it were me, I'd probably do the CR/GF split, and keep hoping that one day opens up at the GF. I'm in the minority on this thread, but the YC just didn't do a bunch for me. I preferred the BC or the BWI for that area. But I'm like you - nothing beats the MK! :thumbsup2

Praline - good luck with the VIP planning! I'm glad you're enjoying working with them so far. PM me your guide's name - I know names/reputations of a few, and would be interested to know who you got! I'm sure it will be a fabulous time. Got to love that ADR access! :thumbsup2 We didn't have ADR's for lunch when we initially booked, and they booked us a lunch at CP (that wasn't available - and we had a party of 10!) "just in case", but we could have changed it. I didn't know if we'd want to spend our valuable time sitting down for lunch, but it was so worth it. The guides are awesome! :thumbsup2 My parents have said we'll do a park with one every year once I have kids and we start touring with them - I can only imagine what the rate is going to be by then, though! :scared:

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH Carly just got knocked off AI..I am not watching anymore :furious:
I am soo PO'd at that show! What a crock of SH**

Fishy~thanks for the info on your margarita maker...I am asking for one of those for Mothers Day ;) Do you think the others from other stores are just as good? or only at Williams Sonoma?

Channing~sounds good huh?:drinking1

I am so excited! DH just agreed to Mother's Day weekend trip to WDW. We are able to drive down... GF does not have availability for Thursday night, only Fri. and Sat.
We could stay at YC all 3 nights, or at CR for 1st nite, followed by 2 nights at GF which is where I really want to be. Should I go for the latter and try out a new room at CR for the first time plus get my GF fix? Or since it is such a short trip should we go with YC, which we have never tried? I have stayed twice at BC and liked it fine, especially the proximity to Epcot, but I'm pretty neautral on the actual resort.
OPINIONS PLEASE!

Congrats!! I would either book the YC for all three days or keep trying for the GF. You have a few weeks yet and things change all the time. I just would not want to move if I was staying only 3 days. It is Mother's Day, relax and enjoy! Hope you have a great trip!

Well...I talked to my hubby about the private guide thing last night. He thought it sounded great and then asked me what it cost. I told him $75.00 hour:rolleyes1 (that will be my cost so I was not lying but did not want him to totally freak!)

Hope everyone has a good day. Rain is in our forecast.:sad2:

Brook- Did you book your guide for 2 consecutive days or did you break this up a little?? I am starting to put my days together and just wondering how you were going to do this.

Tink, I sent you the pm of her name. I think it will take a lot of stress off of me for those 2 days :goodvibes

Channing~ I can see how your family would like the Grand 1 better than the guide. Your kids are a lot older and have been to Disney many more times than Savannah. This is only Savannah's 4th time going and I really think the first 2 times she was too young to get much out of it :lmao:
First time she was a year old and the second she had JUST turned 3 the week before. We had a nightmare trip staying at the AKL and didn't go back to Disney for a few years.
I also grew up in Orlando and spent EVERY weekend at Disney as a child (when it was a 1 park attraction... ) and have been more times than I can possibly count. :rotfl:
If I was going alone or with DH I would not get the guide. The whole point is to make sure Savannah gets lots of ride time and has just as magical of a time as I did when I was a kid. I remember when waiting 10 minutes for a ride was a LONG wait :rotfl:
I would much rather a day at the spa than spending it in a hot park sweating my tail end off. Using the guide, I will be able to get more resort pool time and she will have more fun with shorter lines :woohoo:

Dining this trip is with the same idea. She picked the places she wanted to eat at. Not my favs but she likes them :rotfl:
Our adrs are for:
1900 Park fare (okay so this is a good dinner)
Yak and Yeti's (yes, she picked this place and really liked it last time)
Garden Grill
Ohana's
CRT for breakfast
LTT
50's prime time
Les Ceillers (she loved the food here and wants to go back)
Chef Mickeys (breakfast)
Tony's

As you can see... a very full KID meal plan :rotfl:
I am either going to need a day at the spa or a lombodomy when I get home :rotfl:

I did 2 consecutive days. It just worked out that way, no special reason I did it that way.

Thank you so much! Sorry you aren't taking your Mother's Day trip :guilty: I am going to look into YC :thumbsup2

That's the split I was leaning towards but I hate to move... I was thinking it would be nice to try the YC b/c we've never stayed there and we have been to BC and BWI twice each. I'm not crazy about BC :confused3 I love the BWI too but am worrying that the rooms aren't in the best condition. Not sure whether they've been rehabbed since I was there in 2004. I think it has one of the prettiest lobbies on property :cloud9:

i THINK YOU'RE RIGHT. i REALLY DON'T/WON'T WANT TO MOVE. iDEALLY i WILL GET MY WAY AND GET gf FOR ALL THREE NIGHTS :snooty:

Thanks for the responses! :thumbsup2

Johnsonet~ thats the way to think :rotfl2:
I tried for the longest time to swap from poly to GF for our last night. I hate resort hopping but the GF was full our last night so we were going to have to move. At the last minute I was able to squeeze in and we didn't have to move!

Funny story from this morning~ my boys are FOREVER fighting and bickering! Lately it has really gotten on my last nerve and I kind of lost my temper with them and did the mom temper tantrum thing yesterday morning! Well this morning my middle child (Ryan) woke up 2 hours early (at 4am :scared1: ) and got himself ready, fed himself.. the whole 9 yards before anyone else woke up! He was so proud of himself and told me, "SEE mom, its not me who is fighting and arguing. With DJ asleep I got ready for school and didn't fight once...."
hmmm Ryan dear, if you had wanted to fight, who would you argue with?!

Ryan: hmmmm.... didn't think about that part.....

I am so glad my kids are cute as they are never going to be rocket scientist :rotfl2:

Thanks! Julie and Corey are such a cute couple!

That's exactly how I expected Bawb to look!

Kevin and Pete just surprised me!

What's the deal with John? He was in a relationship with Pete, he's an owner of DU and now he's with Kevin? Woman would never do something like that! Still work with an ex! :rotfl:

I have never picked up on that! I thought they were business partners only!

Well, I have a ex that I consider like a brother and my husband understands! If fact we only dated a few months and were such good friends that it felt weird being anything more so we broke up so we could be friends for the long run and it not be weird. We were in each others weddings and we still get together once a month and his wife and I are close, I was her birth coach!

tinklvr64 - Williams and Sonoma was the only place that I saw the Margaritaville when I was looking, but my neighbor found hers at Sams Club and it is the same model, but much cheaper.

I am freaking out!!! I so upset!!!!

Today was the first day to call for Cabanas and I got shut out!! I sat on the phone with Concierge but they can't help. I called at 8:00 am and they open at 7:00 am. They said there is a guy thats booking them for the full day for his whole trip!!!

What am I going to do, if I don't beat him to the call tomorrow???

I cry over nothing, so imagine how hysterical I am!!!!

So with the VIP tours, do you get "front of the line" privileges? Dh and I watched the Travel Channel show (before we got bored and switched channels) and both of us agreed that if that included that privilege, we would go for it. But the show said this is not included? Is that correct? :confused3

Sorry to hear about the cabanas situation, WishesQueen. Can you (or someone) explain that to me again? I understand that by renting a cabana, you get your own private space, and a fridge with drinks and TV. I guess I'm just not getting it - why would you want a TV by the pool? Would you not just go back in your room to watch TV then? I mean, is there something I'm missing here? Seriously, I'm not being a smart-a$$; I'm trying to determine if this is something we'd like to do.

Can I just show off my new shoes I bought yesterday? I work with mostly men so I can't exactly gush about shoes with them. Got two pairs, but this is definitely my favorite. I am wearing them today and I love, love, love them! They're not to everyone's liking, I'm sure (my husband cracked up when he saw them), but I am seriously in love today. Have I told you that I love them?

My DD11 has albinism and in the morning and early afternoon the sun is too hot for her to be in the parks. The pool is great, but the cabanas help her to take a break from a sun shirt, hat, glasses & lotion!!! She has to reapply every 45 minutes and wear her hat, shirt and glasses.

She closes 1/2 the cabana has drink and snack, points the air conditioner at herself and put on the disney channel. When she gets bord with that, off she goes again!!

Did you explain this to the person on the phone? I would for sure tell them that there is a medical need for the cabana.

CUTE SHOES. LOVE THEM!

I tried, I finally got a concierge women (Janet) she said that the computer doesn't allow them to go any further in July. I am going to be on the phone at 7 am, I can't screw this up.

I feel so bad, like I let her down by not calling until 8:00. I don't know what I was thinking. Now that I think about it, I remember it being 7:00!!!

I was bummed about Carly! When she was standing there in the bottom 2 and said " I'm just going to have fun from here on out" ( in regards to song choice), I knew she was a goner!

I LOVE Williams - Sonoma stuff!:) The recipes he puts in the catalog always sound yummy! I keep saying I'm going to start making some of them, but I haven't gotten around to actually doing it...:rolleyes1
