Good morning Ladies!

Tonight my big TV night! The office, Grey's, and LOST is back tonight! WHOOOOHOO! My little tivo works over time on Thursdays ! :dance3:

I was shocked last night on AI! I can't believe Carley got the boot! I love Brooke so I was glad she was not knocked out of the competition because of her start over but I honestly didn't expect the other two girls to be in the bottom two. I figured the bottom two would be Jason and Brooke. It's gonna be a guy this year, Syesha and Brooke are not strong enough to take the AI title.

Tinkaroo I just listened to the podcast and they gave out some more details about the live show, you should listen and decide soon! It would be great to meet another GF girl! I am so excited, they are giving out prizes so I am hoping for an ipod! I don't have one

I am off, we have a big home school curriculum thing we are going to today, gotta start deciding already and order next years stuff!

Mandy

I tried, I finally got a concierge women (Janet) she said that the computer doesn't allow them to go any further in July. I am going to be on the phone at 7 am, I can't screw this up.

I feel so bad, like I let her down by not calling until 8:00. I don't know what I was thinking. Now that I think about it, I remember it being 7:00!!!

Try tomorrow at 7:00 and again explain the medical need. I am sure they can do something for you or at least I would hope they would try. I wish you luck!!:grouphug:

Good morning GF fans!:flower3:

Annette....I am crushed for you. Are you staying RPC?? Maybe if you call the desk concierge there they can do something for you?? Slip it in early or prebook?? PM me if you want the direct number. This isn't just a request for you, it's basically a necessity for your daughter's health. There should be something they can do. I will cross my fingers it works out. Gosh I can't believe what a bozo to book the whole thing every darn day! UGH. :headache:

Linda, the shoes are adorable!!! :) You scored on your trip to Neimans!:goodvibes The cabanas are just a nice little bit of luxury for most people....cushy upgraded chairs, a fridge with soda/water/juice boxes, fruit bowl, satelite radio/tv/fan...and shade. But for Wishesqueen, her DD needs the shade for her health. We rented one once, and DH thought it was a great deal, but I just had a hard time even with that ONE day on our trip committing to it! It never fails, it seems we are always off schedule and wnat to be somewhere else when we have a CC deposit down on something!

Grr, stupid thing ate my post just when I had it all finished!

I was so surprised to see Sayesha (sp?) and Carley in the bottom two last night. I really liked both of them. I didn't watch on Tuesday because I stopped at the grocery store after my haircut (we live in the middle on nowhere, and since it costs almost $70 to fill my car now BF says I have to economize on trips ). OMG, my cereal was $6.00 a box :scared1: and milk was $4.00 a gallon :headache: . I shop at this place about once a month (try to buy most stuff then and just get incidentals as needed), and their prices have gone up so badly in the past month I think I am going to have to find a new store. My mom said it is the same everywhere, though. I was always willing to pay a little more to shop in this place because it so clean and their produce and other items have a lot of variety, but there is a limit. :rolleyes1

Wishesqueen, good luck getting your cabana. They really should have something in place for fa,ilies who can demonstrate medical need. :wizard:

Okay ladies, all the talk about the VIP guides is giving me really ;) ideas. I am thinking I can get one for our wedding guests, and they can go around with the VIP guides while we go off on our own :lmao: . I would even pay for two if I had to :rotfl2: . I just found out that I am expected to be full time 24/7 tour guide, so I may have to pay someone else so that they can have the "privlage" :scared:

Have a great day ladies!

OK!! I ran 4 miles and got all my frustrations out!!! I am a stupid MOM that messed, but I not going to mess up again.

Channing - I have the conceirge desk helping its just they can't bump anyone out and they can't look to the next day the computer wont allow them. But she is going to check every morning to see if one of them cancels out for me so that helps.

Mandy - My tivo will be buring tonight too!!! It takes me two days to watch all the Thursday shows.

SleepingUgly - Cute shoes, my DD would LOVE them. I would have no place to wear them!!!

I don't watch AI religiously, but I did catch it last night. I thought she was good!!!

I was bummed about Carly! When she was standing there in the bottom 2 and said " I'm just going to have fun from here on out" ( in regards to song choice), I knew she was a goner!

Good morning Ladies!

Its def going to be the Davids at the end!

Good Morning Sunshines!!! :goodvibes
I am so excited! DH just agreed to Mother's Day weekend trip to WDW. We are able to drive down... GF does not have availability for Thursday night, only Fri. and Sat.
We could stay at YC all 3 nights, or at CR for 1st nite, followed by 2 nights at GF which is where I really want to be. Should I go for the latter and try out a new room at CR for the first time plus get my GF fix? Or since it is such a short trip should we go with YC, which we have never tried? I have stayed twice at BC and liked it fine, especially the proximity to Epcot, but I'm pretty neautral on the actual resort.
OPINIONS PLEASE!

I would book the YC for night one and the GF for 2-3 (and hope for a GF opening :thumbsup2 )

.

Oh its official my SIL is knocked up :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
She went to the doc today and it has been confirmed.. those home test don't lie :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Congrats to SIL!!! We have terrific friends who adopted 3 times and hoped for the same outcome, but it never happened. I am always so excited for those that have it!!!!!!!!!!

Fishy~thanks for the info on your margarita maker...I am asking for one of those for Mothers Day ;) Do you think the others from other stores are just as good? or only at Williams Sonoma?

They sell it at Linen N Things and you can use one of those 20% coupons!!! We have a Waring Professional Bar Blender so DH won't let me have another "toy" Lately I have been drinkin' my 'ritas on the rocks so I cheat- I turn the ice dispenser on the fridge from cube to crush, fill a glass and add the Cuervo pre-done mix...

I am freaking out!!! I so upset!!!!

Today was the first day to call for Cabanas and I got shut out!! I sat on the phone with Concierge but they can't help. I called at 8:00 am and they open at 7:00 am. They said there is a guy thats booking them for the full day for his whole trip!!!

What am I going to do, if I don't beat him to the call tomorrow???

I cry over nothing, so imagine how hysterical I am!!!!

Aren't there more than 1 cabana to rent?? I am glad you have IPO watching for you since he probably won't end up using them everyday (you have 24 hours to cancel) - he probably is just trying to keep his options open (Don't even get me started on how wrong this is!!! It ranks right up there with people with 2 ADR's for the same time at different places :rolleyes1 )

I am trying to decide if I should order a gift basket for DS or just grab a couple of things on my own and assemble them in the room while he is in the arcade (which, of course, is DH's preference)... we leave in 20 days so I better get my butt in gear and decide already...

There are 2 cabanas, I guess someone else called at 7, a GOOD MOM!!!:sad2:

I thought I saw it at LNT too!!! I didn't want to say anything, because I haven't been there in awhile!!

Praline - I am so happy for your SIL!!!! Congratulations!!!

I am going shopping to lift my spirits and make 7 a.m. tomorrow come faster!!! I am woman on a mission now!!!:cheer2:

Wishes~ if all else fails... like there is no way you can get a cabana. Maybe you could ask the concierge desk if they could move one of those beach umbrella set ups to the pool for your daughter? It wouldn't hurt to at least ask, especially after explaining to them her condition and her desire to go swimming but to need breaks from the sun. I know its not as nice as the cabana BUT if all else fails and you can't get it... this might be better than nothing.

Not that Savannah has a medical condition but she is super fair skinned and has many stork bites on her forehead. They REALLY show up when she is in the sun! I get asked all the time if she fell or had an accident :rolleyes1
With your DD condition I am sure you know the best sun screens to use for the face ... so spill it! What is the best to use?

Thank you so much for a great idea!!! But bite you tongue I don't get this freakin Cabana!!!:scared: :scared1:

Yes, I have used every sunprotection company out there, over the counter, prescription. The BEST sunprotection company is Neutrogena!!!!!!! Anything they make rocks!! I LOVE the new spray on and so does Natalie, it smells great it even comes in 45 and is Broad Spectrum. We love spraying in WDW when people around us don't smell too good or if we don't smell too good. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I use Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry touch for her face and its great, I just don't do her forehead because when she swims it runs into her eyes. Thats the only thing I haven't found yet, sun protection that doesn't burn the eyes, but if you eliminate the forehead (Natalie wear a hat and Savannah's hair should protect her) she'll do great.:flower3:

Well, i'm at home and didn't get to go look at curriculum, DH forgot to take the car seats out of the van  Oh well, when he called me back I was able to drop the hint that I wanted a Pandora bracelet for mothers day and sent him a link to my wish lish..... Hopefully i'll get my wish :wizard:

So with the VIP tours, do you get "front of the line" privileges? Dh and I watched the Travel Channel show (before we got bored and switched channels) and both of us agreed that if that included that privilege, we would go for it. But the show said this is not included? Is that correct? :confused3

Sorry to hear about the cabanas situation, WishesQueen. Can you (or someone) explain that to me again? I understand that by renting a cabana, you get your own private space, and a fridge with drinks and TV. I guess I'm just not getting it - why would you want a TV by the pool? Would you not just go back in your room to watch TV then? I mean, is there something I'm missing here? Seriously, I'm not being a smart-a$$; I'm trying to determine if this is something we'd like to do.

Can I just show off my new shoes I bought yesterday? I work with mostly men so I can't exactly gush about shoes with them. Got two pairs, but this is definitely my favorite. I am wearing them today and I love, love, love them! They're not to everyone's liking, I'm sure (my husband cracked up when he saw them), but I am seriously in love today. Have I told you that I love them?

Have a good day, everyone!

Linda

These shoes are so cute! Me want! :rotfl: I am going shopping this weekend for my summer shoes! Currently, I am searching for a great gold or bronze sandal :yay:

I have an addiction/ love affair with accessories and shoes, especially heals, I love singing in heals! I lead a praise team and wear stilettos a lot and they have this small slit where cables use to run and I have steeped in it and gotten my heal caught twice! :rotfl: Our worship minister got a pair of heals from Goodwill and put huge washers on the bottoms and gave me as a gag gift! :rotfl:

My girls room has a second closet that I have claimed as my own and I have only shoes in it! I love em! The deal breaker for our next house will be the closets! :rotfl:

Have a great day ladies!
Mandy

They have the Margaritaville drink maker in the Linens & Things Sunday sale ads!! So, I suppose that means you can use the 20% off coupon for it?!?! Yay! Sounds like a good thing!:rotfl: :rotfl: :goodvibes

I am still waiting for itunes to have the Dis podcast!! I want to walk to it.:thumbsup2

Wishes, I was just thinking maybe if you called the DIRECT at the hotel they could slip that ressie in for you....

OMG:scared1: ...my son and his friend are here:eek: ...it was psat test day and they're here already?!!!!!!!!!!!! ugh...still in my pjs and looking bad. (busted, haha:rotfl: )Now they know how I really spend my time.:rotfl2:

Well, I think I am going to join you, Wishes, in shopping today....I can't do laundry and it is piling up fast, I am having troulble receiving email from all three accounts.....I am bored. Maybe I will go switch out more winter for summer clothes. My kids have so much stuff it's a major project.

Amy
, I know - prices are getting out of hand....kind of scary. They were talking about rationing food at Sams and Costco (rice at this point) but it is creepy to think of a possible world food shortage....and then the gas!:rolleyes1 OMG...its just awful. I am trying to conserve car trips, too. I can use a gallon of gas just between taking Lucy to school in the morning and picking her up. :sad2:

Mandy - I have a Pandora bracelet!! I love it...it's almost fully loaded. I bought a bunch of Disney charms, murano glass beads, and other favorites. It's a neat thing!! Lucy has an anklet...she just has Eeyore and a couple pretty blue Murano glass beads, but it's cute.

Have a great day, all! I an sure I'll be back...;)

Channing :)

Mandy: I read a thread in the podcast section from Pete saying he was in a long term relationship with John. I'm so nosy that I want to know more about these people! Someone said if you go back to last springs podcast there's a three show segment on how they all met and got together. When I have the time, I'll try to find it. I think someone mention end of April 07.

I sent Kevin a PM asking him to find all the Iced Coffee locations in WDW this summer. He said he hates Iced Coffee, but should he come across any will make a note of it. He PMed me back fast. I thought that was nice of him.:) I'm a coffee addict :surfweb: I wonder if the Kona Coffee Bar will have Iced Coffee this summer :confused3

Brook: The VIP tour sounds like fun and I think Savannah will feel like a real princess with such VIP treatment princess: We love 50's Prime Time Cafe, but this trip we're trying out the Sci-Fi for the boys. They both LOVE cars of any type! What time is your breakfast at Chef Mickey's? We'll be there at 8:10.

Annette: I'm so sorry you're having problems getting a cabana. Jeez, it's not like your trying for CRT! I would have never thought to call at 7am! I think I called mid day like 2pm! Sorry you'll be staying there with this cabana hog! Are you requesting one everyday for her? You're going to have to be on the phone at 6:58 dialing in order to beat this guy!

SleepingUgly: We rented the cabana for two days this trip. Really for my kids. We plan on spending two full afternoons by the pool once while I hit the spa and again when my husband does his RP Driving Experience. I like that the kids can nap out of the sun, with only one parent around you have your cabana helper there to get you food and bring Mama a Strawberry Daquari :rotfl: Plus I think my boys will get a kick out of watching TV outside :happytv: It's a nice treat. They better not get too used to it as we're only doing it twice out of our ten day stay!:)

Kristin: The Disney Store has a lot of stuff on sale with an additional 40% off this week. I got my boys so many little things and each one big toy and put everything in the red reuseable Mickey Bags from the store. They had cute tank tops for ladies that just came in that we're not on sale, but $19.99. I think I'm going to go back for them. One had a crown and said "evil queen" and another had a shoe on it and said "if it fits" :rotfl: Both we're bedazzled. Cute, but not too loud or overdone.

I think I saw that mixer at Costco. I'm looking forward to trying the Grey Goose Slushy!:rotfl:

It's going to be 80 degrees here today. Might have to turn the a/c on, it's getting really warm in here!

Have a great day everyone!
Mare

Well I make sure she keeps bangs. It does hide her stork bites... A LOT!
I talked to her about having laser treatment to remove them and she flipped :rotfl: she calls them her angel kisses and that the angels kissed her before she was born.

For the most part you can't tell in pics... the flash hides it but when you see her in person and her bangs are moved... and she has been in the sun ... it looks like a giant bulls eye on her forehead :rotfl:

Its not disfiguring but it does get tiring whenever anyone knew meets her! I get asked all the time if she fell and hurt herself :rotfl:

ooops...I meant to pull myself away....still here....:rotfl:

Mare, I did the cabana thingy a couple times and never had a cabana helper person...is that something new? The GF pool bar does have cocktail servers that come around for everybody though...that's how I got myself a pina colada a few times.;) That drink maker was at Costco?!? I missed that....at LNT it's $300....kinda steep. Is it cheaper at Costco? I have the 20% off, but that is still almost $250. :confused3 :confused3 Just wondering. I bought one last year at Khols, not that same brand, but it never worked right and it was close to $200.

Kristin,,,you're getting close!!! Hope you find the white shorts!

:)

I love iced coffee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can tell you a couple of places I found some GREAT Iced coffee...

1. Right before you hit the entrance to AK... on the right (near the trees and walkway) is a coffee kiosk. They have GREAT WONDERFUL Iced coffee!!!!

2. The international gateway at Epcot ... right before you hit Mexico, has a great iced coffee stand. There is also one in the American area that was good.

I remember I got a cup of iced coffee in DHS but I don't remember where off hand.

Kona cafe had iced coffee BUT they did not have any sugar free syrups. I can only drink sugar free products so was unable to get ice coffee there. I was able to order me a cup of Kona Coffee while I was at Ohana's for breakfast. I asked the server and they were happy to bring me up a pressed pot. I think they charged me $8 for the pot but don't quote me on that or make me dig through receits :rotfl:

I am a huge coffee fan but hate the disny nescafe coffee. If you are picky about your coffee... I highly suggest bringing your own with small 4 cup filters. Nothing starts the day better than a cup of GOOD coffee.

Thank you so much for a great idea!!! But bite you tongue I don't get this freakin Cabana!!!:scared: :scared1:

I discovered the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer last summer and was hooked! I decided to try it b/c I was tired of my kids looking greasy and sticky after I applied other lotions, the package said it feels clean so I had to try it. I buy four at a time and have it in my diaper bag, Disney bag, in our sun room so we smear some on the kids before we play out side, and my husband has one at work in case he has to go out to a work site. It is the best! I agree :thumbsup2 I just wish it came in an economy size from Sam's

WHAT!?!? Pandora has Disney charms??? I have never seen them, thanks for the FYI. The murano glass beads are gorgeous! My mom got them for my girls last year and I love them and decided that I wanted one, I love em! I love the look of gold and silver together so it will match everything! I want to get 4 charms with my kids birthstone so it can also be like my mothers bracelet! Off to search for those Disney charms...... Thanks! :thumbsup2

Now that you say that I saw something Kevin posted a while back when someone asked about how everyone knew each other that was some like "Pete + John, Divide John and Pete. Add Walter to Pete and Kevin to John. I have listened to the 10th anniversary thing twice and i don't remember anything being said about John and Pete having a love relationship but I bet that's the case!

I just need to find out how to make a living out of my love for Disney so I'm hoping they will offer me a job! Any one want to move down here and start a company and podcast with me? :dance3: :rotfl:

OK, you ladies have convinced me. I'm going to try and book the cabanas for at least one afternoon for us. We're going in August, and we'll be returning to the resort just about every afternoon for swim / rest, so this will be nice. And yes, my younger one (the TV addict) will get the biggest kick out of watching TV by the pool. Food, swimming and TV -- she will be in heaven! :cool1:

I have up to 24 hours to cancel with no penalties, right? I may have to do that if the weather report is not promising for the next day.

Can I ask how much and how much in advance I can book? 90 days?

Thanks!
Linda

OK, I just did a bit of research and see that the rental rate is $60 for each time slot. From 10-2 or 3-7. Those time slots are kind of strange. I was hoping for 1-5. :rotfl: I guess I can't have everything.

Do you ladies usually rent it for the entire day, or just one of the time slots?

Linda

That's the split I was leaning towards but I hate to move... I was thinking it would be nice to try the YC b/c we've never stayed there and we have been to BC and BWI twice each. I'm not crazy about BC :confused3 I love the BWI too but am worrying that the rooms aren't in the best condition. Not sure whether they've been rehabbed since I was there in 2004. I think it has one of the prettiest lobbies on property :cloud9:

I know the rooms haven't been rehabbed at BWI recently - rumor is they're going to start with rooms later this year, but you never know until they actually start! We really enjoyed our Dec. stay there in '05 (the hotel was decorated beautifully), but agree that the rooms were starting to look a bit worn then, and that's been 3 years. Once they get shiny new rooms, we'll for sure be back! I love all the music they play around that resort.

I am pretty darn confident that you'll be able to get one - just get on the horn 1st thing tomorrow a.m., and beat this guy! (Who needs a cabana all day every day anyways - are they not going to do ANYTHING else? Crazy!)

Back in '05, I was trying to book an IllumiNations cruise for my DH's 30th as a surprise. I did a few "practice runs" a few days before I really wanted it, and got shut out every time. I was getting so worked up about it, and talked to the nicest booking CM who gave me some tips on how to score one. When I tried the day of (and I got both my parents to also phone for me), we all 3 ended up with boats!

Just starting calling that number at like 6:58 a.m., and don't go through any pleasantries with the CM - blurt out that you need the GF cabana stat. You can apologize for being rude AFTER they have your cabana held for you. :thumbsup2

So with the VIP tours, do you get "front of the line" privileges? Dh and I watched the Travel Channel show (before we got bored and switched channels) and both of us agreed that if that included that privilege, we would go for it. But the show said this is not included? Is that correct? :confused3

Have a good day, everyone!

Linda

Linda,

The VIP tours do not guarantee front-of-the-line access - in fact, they almost go overboard reminding you that you WON'T get this.

However, in practice, I didn't find this to be the case (nor did others I know who have done the tours). Now, do you go to the front of every line? Absolutely not. However, the guides first of all know where to go, when, so you're automatically hitting the small (or nonexistent) lines. Secondly, they can hold multiple FP's at once. Our guide collected all of our park tickets 1st thing in the morning, put us on line for Dumbo, and then took off to round up all our FP's for the day - I thnk she was holding either actual FP's or rider switch passes for all the major mountains and Jungle Cruise at one time (we did the Fantasyland attractions early, so no need for FP's for those). Thirdly, in most instances, they're able to take you through the FP entrance (regardless of whether you have FP's) of an attraction, bypassing the standby line. I know this is how we got on Pooh and Peter Pan in FL. Our guide did arrange for us to completely bypass the line on the Speedway, although she did make the comment that it wasn't the norm, but sometimes they're able to arrange some PD for guests. The only rides she said she didn't have a lot of control over were HM and POTC, so you just have to know when to hit those right. Hope this helps!

CUTE SHOES!!!!
