Good Morning!

Thanks for the scoop on the Hoop-Dee-Doo Mandee!! I am giving it serious consideration, especially considering there is a park nearby! I always find that my little prince charming does much better when I let him run out some of his energy! I told DH that we have to make sure that DS doesn't snack at least an hour before we sit down to eat b/c he also does better when he is hungry! I'm wondering though if it is too late to get an ADR?? We are a party of 9....

Um....well I had ADRs at JIKO and since that night was the PPP I changed to the HDDR since I figured it would be fun entertainment. We did signatures every night and figured the kids needed a break. WE were a party of nine also, 5 adults/4kids. All I can say is try, but don't take the late show, it is too late for kids!!

Good luck :goodvibes

Hello! I see you are a Basin lover! I have not been to the GF in three years, and I can't wait to see that store! I love anything "home and garden" related! What do they carry? Also looking forward to browsing in and hopefully purchasing things from Summer Lace! :goodvibes

Soaps and other fun stuff! Its like a fancy bath and body works! The soaps are so fun! You will love it! I know Brook (praline3001) who has been MIA, LOVES the bathbombs! They are nice!

OMG!!! I love Basin...it is my all time fav...:cloud9:
Now Basin White which is at GF has different scents than Basin in DTD...I love Lemon Sugar and the Grapefruit Sugar Scrub! Also last year they had some cuts of soap on clearance and i am just using them now...omg so decadent raspberry thyme..out of this world..you dont smell like a big fat raspberry either.:lmao: LOVE the body butters! very rich and creamy!
the only thing i did not like which i bought is the shave cream...not good:sad2:

At reg Basin in DTD one thing i thought was great was the shampoo bar..i used the one for colored hair..did not strip...i did not use it everyday though.

Enjoy!!!

Sounds like it will be my cup of tea!! I don't care for Bath and Body Works b/c the scents are way too intense for me and irritate my skin  - I prefer lighter, natural scents! The lemon sugar and grapefruit sugar scrub and the bathbomb will likely be definite purchases for me! :yay:

Do they also sell bathroom accessories??

I also haven't been to DTD in forever, for the last few trips we never made it down there! Should we go this time? The shampoo bar sounds great too. Is DDT appealing for kids?

:scared1: Don't you remember World of Disney?! It is the Disney Store on steroids!!!! :rotfl2: We go every trip just for that store and some Ghiradelli ice cream :goodvibes

/
Nearly all packed and the builders have left:banana: Just got clear up the mess and sort out my handbag which is:scared1:

DS is away playing cricket so no laundry mishaps.

Only bad news today is that friends from home who have been in Orlando all summer are coming home early so can't join us on our wishes cruise, but never mind.

Is there scales in the bathroom at the GF? Only thinking about the bags on the return.

Kelly, I'm going to miss logging on and see your Good Morning message each day as it usually comes in when I am sorting out what we are have for dinner so makes me smile, it will be good to be on the same time zone.

:rotfl2: DS will go bananas in that store! And he will love  going for ice cream of any kind! He has a serious sweet tooth!

Do any of the stores in WDW sell Giselle costumes, other than her wedding dress? DD loves the movie "Enchanted" and Giselle and was asking!

I love DTD!!! Its a nice break from the parks!!

My family loves Earl of Sandwich and my DD and I just discovered Summer Sands!! Great shop, cover ups, flip flops, pool bags and lots of fun stuff. The company's are the same as home, just different clothing lines. Next year I am going to pick up more stuff there....too cute.

The boys played with the hats and entertained themselves which was great, they didn't even rush us. Besides the staff their was getting into their hat photos too.

My girls love Giselle, too!! We were in WDW around the time the movie came out and then again when it came to DVD.....honestly the whole Enchanted thing at WDW was LAME. IT was really disappointing how little merchandise they had anywhere. Don't be disappointed if you can't even get the Giselle dress.:guilty: I don't remember seeing it a few wks ago...but that doesn't mean its not there...I will have to ask my daughters...THEY would know. There isn't even a Giselle meet & greet...they just went really skimpy on the whole Enchanted thing...and NOW they are skimping out on Wall E, too!!! We had to go to DTD to Once Upon a Toy to find the Wall E merchandise...and this was right after the movie opened!!!!! They had a slim variety in DHS but nothing in World of Disney.:confused3 It was very disappointing to JOjo....she was really looking forward to "meeting" Wall E in person, too....didn't happen.

LOL...sorry for the gripe!!! It's a sore spot!!:rotfl:

On my bday we tried the Gihardelli (OK I know I butchered the spelling of that word) ice cream shop for the FIRST TIME EVER!!! It WAS AWESOME!!!! :cool1: IT blows Beaches & Cream AWAY....Just to die for. I am going to make it a point to go back every trip, haha.....I had a (basically the No Way Jose tha tthey serve at B&C) and it was sooooo soooooo goooood!:) You have to try it. :goodvibes

Lives4Disney - glad you compared B&C to Ghirardelli's - was wondering which one was better, as I haven't been to either! DAunt BlueSkies and I ALWAYS go to the Plaza Restaurant on day one of every trip and enjoy a light lunch and a heavy, FABULOUSLY delish ice cream sundae with butter pecan ice cream, hot fudge, hot caramel, nuts, and whipped cream!

Ok to multi quote press the middle button on the bottom rt side of the screen, it has the " + signs. The button will turn red. Then when you are ready to go to the screen and add your comments press quote on the last post you woant to quote or reply .

To only quote part of a post quote as normal and then highlight and cut the parts you don't need. just make sure you don't erase the bracketed [ ] stuff a the beg and end or it will no be in blue.

Good luck if you could follow that! LOL!

LOL I learned how to multi quote from these gals, too!:goodvibes It's EASY!! (once ya know how;) )

We always do the Plaza too!!! SAME THING - SAME IDEA!:rotfl: It's a favorite lunch place. I really like the Plaza Club and their potato salad....then after...Lucy and I usually split a banana split...JO goes their Mickey cone.:)

Giriahdelli..(totally botched that again I KNOW)...is the BEST!!!! THE BEST!!!! It's going to have to be a MUST DO for us from now on.:goodvibes We like our icecream. :thumbsup2

Do I have to put you on ignore too??? :rotfl: :rotfl: :lmao: :lmao: ;)

Gosh...I wonder if I'm already on anybody's ignore list.:rotfl:

It's sooo nice out today but we are just doing inside stuff. I vacuumed and I have a ton of laundry...probably gonna let that sit LOL...hopefully the kids will want to go out and swim later.

Hope everybody is having a FUN Friday!:dance3:

Channing :)

The had bags at Gaspies everyday for us!!! So try again next time!!

When I asked for a bag, they only had white paper bags that would only fit some beverages/snacks. Not large enough for a pizza. The Disney bags are large enough to hold 3 or 4 plates with the togo lids on. Plus it made it easier for me to carry while pushing the stroller.

GF Gals I have a question re:cleaning your room on arrival!!!!DNiece read on the boards somewhere that there are folks who do a thorough cleaning of the room:headache: I'm thinking when on vacation I'd like to keep chores to a minimum-just keeping room from getting too scary with all 5 of us sharing close quarters:scared1: thats about it.. I mean Im a little germaphobic I bring my lysol for a quick spray and I wipe tv remote and door knobs with a good old clorox wipe...wouldnt even think of touching the glasses!!!eeeewwww IF I plan on using the coffee pot it gets a good scrubbing...I dont know :confused3 after all you are in the parks and on rides with a whole lot of people....Dniece is thinking maybe we should do more...maybe she'll clean my room too...:rotfl: Anyway I think they do a pretty good job keeping the rooms clean...does anyone do more than this???

I'm an idiot when it comes to stuff like this, as soon as I get there I'm in vacation mode!! I had packed lysol, clorox wipes, etc... To wipe down the phone, door knobs etc... I never did it! :rotfl: I do use wet wipes to wipe down the tables before we eat, and Germ X hand sanitizer (no alcohol - so the kids can lick their hands all they want! :lmao:) We don't use the cups or glasses in the room, actually I stick our toothbrushes and toothpaste in them. The coffee pot I will never use, DH has told me horror stories about coffee pots from his college spring break days! :rotfl2:

:goodvibes I was thinking about making an ADR for the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue in Fort Wilderness. I saw it when I was a little girl and though it would be fun to experience it again with my children. I know DD would get a kick out of it, but not sure if DS is a good age for it at 2-years old?? I remember going to River Country on that trip too.....:goodvibes !

We took DS4 when he was 2 and he loved it! We thought the food was surprisingly good too. We had great seats right down in front which made it a lot of fun since they comes off the stage a few times and dance and sing around you. I highly recommend it for kids of all ages!

:One more completely unrelated question - how is the coffee in the lounge at the GF? :coffee: I am not a huge coffee drinker, but I do look forward to my cup in the morning and I like it VERY strong! Please tell me it isn't weak!

Coffee in WDW is horrible! Praline found this facinating coffee article and how to find non-Disney coffee in WDW.

http://minutebyminuteguide.blogspot.com/search?q=coffee

I'm a coffee addict and this trip I'm doing what Praline suggested and bringing my own coffee pot with some Starbucks coffee from home. There are a few "good" places to get real coffee listed in the article. I seriously took notes! :rotfl2:

OMG!!! I love Basin...it is my all time fav...:cloud9:

Do you use the tub of body lotion or the bar?

Are the bath bombs $5 each or is that a multi pack?

I'm taking notes for my Basin shopping spree :rotfl: I had no idea that the DTD store had different stuff! I really didn't go into either stores, DH and DS4 went and bought me several bars of soap by the slice for my birthday. I didn't want to ruin the moment for them ;)

I've been using the birthday bar of soap and it smells delish! :

I'm back in the city today. DH went to another car dealer. I hope he comes home with a new car. I'm getting tired of emptying our stuff out of the car every time he goes to a new dealer! :rotfl:

Hey anyone been to Blizzard Beach? My DS4 is dying to go to a water park! He watched the Travel Channel's Best Waterparks the other night, and now wants to go to one. I was thinking of going to Blizzard Beach on Thanksgiving Day - is this a bad idea? I'm trying to avoid the main parks on that day, originally we were going to do a pool day but now I'm thinking of going to Blizzard Beach. That evening I'm going to go shopping at the Marketplace with DS1 while DH and DS4 go to Disney Quest. Another place he's dying to go!

Mare

Mare, we went to both BB and TL lst August with DS (who was 4 at the time) We MUCH preferred BB to TL. TL is great for the really little ones and the older ones, but the 4-7 year olds kinda gotta shafted. BB is much better for that age group.

I think the idea of a water park trip on Tgiving is an intersting idea... might not be so crowded

I would put a thread on the Theme Park Board about it and see what kind of responses you get...

We always do the Plaza too!!! SAME THING - SAME IDEA!:rotfl: It's a favorite lunch place. I really like the Plaza Club and their potato salad....then after...Lucy and I usually split a banana split...JO goes their Mickey cone.:)

Channing :)

Channing: it's GHIRARDELLI

I ate at the Plaza once for dinner and was disappointed to find sandwiches on the dinner menu. It was a last minute ADR and we never looked at the menu. We've never been back. But now that you mentioned doing lunch and having ice cream, that makes more sense. That's a restaurant for our 2009 trip - that I haven't planned yet! :rotfl2:
