Hi everyone!

Had our winter jackets on here today in ChiTown after the air conditioning was on yesterday!! Met with DS's teacher about games and water balloons for the first grade picnic next week......that's if it doesn't snow! :worried: One daughter graduates pre-k tomorrow as well. WHAT will she wear??

Channing, I hope the back is getting better? Back injuries are HORRIBLE! Have you tried those heat patches you stick on?

We fly Southwest as well. I'm really concerned about these airfares too!

I wish we had a little bit of your cool weather here in New Orleans!!! It is hot and sticky here.
My DD graduated from Pre-K last week. Well, they didn't really have a ceremony, but a carnival with an inflatable water slide and a BBQ!

Channing, I agree, try those stick on heat patches. I have used them before when I pulled something in my back while doing yard work. They worked well for me!

Have a great day everyone. I am taking Hannah for a Wal-mart pedicure!

that rate the S&D is very good and I know several people who have stayed there and love it. I hear the SWAN is much better than the dolphin.

Woodys' - ya...this weather is NUTS!!! Today looks like it has some good possibilities though! oh...my back is horrible. The thing that really helps is heat...I drove Lucy to school today and got to enjoy 20 min of my seat warmer. I was wondering if there were such things as heat patches! I am going to have to find those! I don't know what I did to my back. It has slowly been creeping up on me. I noticed it WDW over Easter after a long day on my feet and my back and my hips and legs would get sooo stiff it was weird. After my daily walks my back is always toast and it must be having a funky flare up because it isn't going away but thanks for the tip on the heat patches.

Ya..I like the Swan much better.

Andrea
- that is sooo cute...Walmart does that? Or are you being sarcastic?? I took the girls to have manicures done (they wanted them - I have never had one!) and Lucy wound up with this Chinese man doing hers and he massaged WAY to hard and he had this ugly 3 inch long scary fingernail!!!!! ICK. They did a nice job on the nail polishing though....but it wa kind of weird otherwise....we went with friends and SHE chose the place.:rotfl: :rotfl:

Happy day!
Channing :goodvibes

Kelly, do you keep up with MA Governors office and politics?

I just found out about one of my best friends from Bama who I haven't seen in 15 years (emailed until about 3 years ago).

The articles are VERY disturbing and deal with some horrible gross stuff. Just wondering if you knew anything else. FYI, he is a flaming red head (I have some great pics from college) naturally. I can't get over the hair now. And for him to be Top 25 stylish Bostonians made me giggle out loud. All he wore at Bama were bow ties that were hideous. DH and I both are just shocked and disgusted at the allegations, even though they dropped the charges for insufficient evidence.

Good Day Gals.....

I got an email;) this is going to be fun!

Andrea~how fun for you and your daughter....no thanks I do not want hot and humid air here..Monday was enough! Us IL gals will send you some cool air!

Channing~I have spasms in the right side of my back that comes and goes...I think it is from carrying around tote full of textbooks. Aleve does not rip up my stomach like Advil and does really help with muscle injuries and sprains...You can buy the generic store brand wayyy cheaper!

time for lunch, talk to you later:wizard:

tinklvr64, Have you ever ordered from the BASIN site? I wanted to order some of the birthday soap and Cotton candy bath things for my sons girlfriend (a little extra surprise for grad. day) and was just wondering how long it took. She uses something like that now from the Body Works, but I thought this would be nicer. Thanks so much.

I have had a Ding for the past THREE YEARS and we've paid no more than $600 for all 5 of us RT!!!

I am still looking for my DING!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: I hope something works out, V, and you get a good rate.

Chan

Channing, what is this 'ding' you talk about?

Yes I have ordered from the Basin site but I dont remember how long it took to receive...They were awesome and threw in lots of extras too! BasinWhite(the one at GF) is also up and running which has different items than regular Basin...just if you are interested:goodvibes
Good Luck...I love Basin!!!!!!!!!!:lovestruc

Thank you for the quick response. :goodvibes I can't wait to order from the BASIN now. Some things for the girlfriend ( and some for me!!) :thumbsup2

Hey, Channing, what type of view did you have at the Swan???
Just looking into some options for my Jan/Feb trip (even though I am completely at a loss for which dates are best!)

No, they really do pedicures at Walmart. $20 on MTW, $25 Thurs - Sun. I mean, you get what you pay for, it's not a high-end spa pedicure, but it keeps my feet nice and soft and polished and I don't have to do it! Hannah had a pedicure once at a spa birthday party for a little girl in her class. She enjoyed it. And they only charged me $15 for hers. So with a tip, it was 42 for both of us!
I here you with the scary fingernail! Some of those places are just plain scary! :rotfl:

Channing, what is this 'ding' you talk about?

Mike...are you serious?? :goodvibes Or kidding?? :rotfl: I'll take the chance you really want to know:) .... SWA has this thingy called "Ding"...you download it from their website. They have Dings (I think) every day. Sometimes multiple times/day. :thumbsup2 They are special fares that you can only book for a limited amt of time...today I had a Ding to MCO for $94 each way but it was only for flights MTW and when I checked they wre just the two latest flts of the day...I am paying just a bit more for a much better time...it had to be booked by 4 pm CST. They used to be much more generous with the fares on Dings and also with the flight days and times. Now they are limiting dings to only certain flights/days of the week etc. It's great to have on your computer though and if you can be flexible - it can really save you money. There will be a little SWA icon and sometimes it makes the Ding sound (like you're now free to move around the cabin, haha) and other times not, but there is always a little envelope on the icon when a Ding is in progress. NOw also w/SWA, if you alredy have your flight booked it's super easy to make changes....not a fee not a problem. So if you have a full fare fight booked and get the Ding you just change it to the Ding fare. You will end up w/A SWA credit to use w/in a year.:thumbsup2 Love SWA.

Hey, Channing, what type of view did you have at the Swan???
Just looking into some options for my Jan/Feb trip (even though I am completely at a loss for which dates are best!)

I always book standard view and if you're SPG they will most often comp upgrade you to a much nicer view and possibly balcony room. Did you join SPG? Do that! It's free and easy and you will earn points.

Chan

Channing, I did sign up for SPG. I probably will not stay there, but was looking into it ... My mom reminded me that we stayed at the Dolphin when it was NEWish in 1992 and the room was dirty. :rotfl: She comes up with an excuse for not staying at any alternative I offer to GF ... I am just trying to save some money here, but she is not going for it!:rotfl2:

I am not a Dolphin fan. I prefer the Swan. The Swan rooms were all VERY recently redone...like 6 months or so. It is good for us if we're not staying YC. If we want an Epcot resort I prefer the YC in summer and Swan whenever I don't want to pay the YC rates.:rotfl: I have NEVER had the steller service at the Swan that they go on and on about on the S/D thread though. It's just been OK. I love that location and the beds are nice but that about says it all....oh and it's cheap.:rotfl2:

Channing :)

If you want me, I will be over on the Pop thread

Just Kidding!!! Truly the trip was fabulous, but I am in my usual post Disney funk where I don't want to to think about it, talk about it etc. Plus it feels like a million things need to get done in the next week around here.... I will be back soon, chattier than ever- I promise!!!!

As for running away with Jack, he did comment to me that "We could use a wench like you aboard the Pearl..." I told him "If you only knew..." :faint:

OMG, Kristin!!! When I saw that first part, I was thinking I CAN'T BELIEVE SHE SAID THAT" :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I totally understand the Disney funk ... I stayed off the boards for 3 months after we got back in Feb because I was so sad not to have another trip planned. I hope you get everything done and come back to us soon! :goodvibes

Hi all-
Just checking in after a weekend of highs and lows. We had some horrific weather in MN over the weekend and our dear friends lost everything in the tornados in Hugo, a suburb of the Twin Cities. This young family (the mom used to babysit my children and work for my DH's business) clung to the water heater in their basement while the tornado ripped their home off the foundation. The 2nd story is totally missing and all that's was left untouched on the 1st floor was the laundry room. Their belongings are history including her heirloom diamond ring.

Their 2 1/2 year old daughter had just awakened from a nap and only had a pull-up on. It was devastating but they are happy to be alive. Their neighbor's 2 year old was sucked out of their home and was found dead in the nearby pond. So sad...

Here are some photos:
