Hi, Chan :wave2:. It's raining here too :sad2:. But it sounds like you have a nice relaxing day planned before heading home ;). Sometimes I just love hanging at the resort and shopping.....even in the middle of our trips.....but the last day is really good for that :goodvibes. How neat that Jojo got on the big screen at Monsters Inc. :). I can't wait to check out Basin when we're there in July . You and the other gals have peaked my curiosity by talking about all the great stuff they have there.....so I can't wait to check it out :goodvibes. And I'm anxious to see all your pics from the trip :thumbsup2. Have fun shopping today and have a safe flight home :wizard:.

I better get moving. DSs are off school today for fall break (or something :confused3). They are usually off 2 days in a row around this time......but for some reason they changed it this year so they have off today....early releases next Wed. and Thurs.....then off again next Friday (Halloween)......kinda screwy but atleast we have two 3-day weekends in a row :thumbsup2. Lunch plans with my mom, sister and her kids, and us......so I need to get a few things done around here before we have to leave to meet the others :rolleyes1.

Enjoy the day everyone :flower3:. Safe travels Chan :). TTYL.

Deb :upsidedow

Driving to the airport....this am was so fun. My sons excitement brought tears to my eyes. We are already having a blast and we aren't even there yet :)

Thanks for the safe travel wishes - I'll try to check in!

Chan I may see you at the gf. Our flight lands at 3:20.

HAVE FUN, TRACI :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:.

Glad the Mickey gifts were a hit.....I knew they would be :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2.

Deb :)

Traci- that was SO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am glad I am not the only one who goes overboard pre-buying for the trip!! I bring most of it with me and Mickey leaves presents in the room each night of the trip (PJ Pals, bathings suits etc.) I have that Mickey camera!!! I bought it on sale at Disney Shopping to put in the surprise birthday basket next year!
Have a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious time!!!!

Chan- enjoy your last day! :sad1:

Vanessa
- I have a couple of GREAT sweet tooth ideas.

1) Sugar Free Jello cup with a swirl of Reddi Whip (1 carb)

2) Breakfast blintz (7 net carbs)

4 eggs, beaten
2 packets splenda
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
shake of ground cinnamon

Blend together and place in butter coated skillet. Cook over med heat about 5 minutes, covered (makes a sweet omlette)

For the filling:
1/3 package of cream cheese, softened
2 packets splenda
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla

Mix together. Spread over hot "omlette" in pan. Slide onto plate, and fold over omlette style.

It is one of my very favorite low carb breakfasts, and it hold me over a good 4-5 hours! :thumbsup2

3) Dannon makes low carb yogurt (3 carbs) in strawberry and vanilla. It is a great quick breakfast or midday snack.

HTH!

Hi everyone else!!

I need to work out, but I came to the computer to order my Chase Rewards card and do my Gymboree Rise and Shine order.

Morning all!

My girls are sleeping in....we have the room til noon...then I think we will just hang out here because it's not so pretty out today. Iam not sure if it's raining or not...if it's raining it's a GF and *gasp* Poly shopping day. Channing

:scared1:  :headache: :guilty: :scared:

What did i tell you about that place?

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Traic, I thought about you when I drove past the STL airport late this AM. Wonder if one of the planes I saw taking off had you on it! Glad your kids loved their surprise, and hope you have a wonderful time!

Good Afternoon everyone.

Traci You must be landing about now.:goodvibes Loved the pic of the Mickey presents. What a great way to start your trip. Hope you get to meet Channing.

Deb The first day of spring is March 20th.:cool1: 147 days now.

Hi Gals & Mr M

TGIF:banana:

Hi Princess P havent seen you around for a while:)

Kristin That Blintz recipe sounds yummy and I guess a few less carbs than Dawn's wonderful pumpkin muffins (which are definitely worth it!!:rotfl:)

Maxie ONLY 147 more days until spring~thank goodness:laughing:

Wonder if Channing and Traci got to meet up?

We have another busy weekend coming up no rest for the weary....

Hope you all have a nice night:flower3:

Hey, all!!! We are sitting at the gate in MCO.

WE SAW TRACI AND HER GORGEOUS FAMILY!!!!!! OMG!! IT was so funny!! I went outside about 4:45 to have my luggage brought out, saw the perfect white limo and said to myself...that is SE...LOL....and then saw Traci and her family! I knew they were being dropped off at the GF by SE so I called out TRACI! But she didn't hear me so we stood there until they looked our way and it was so funny!! She yelled CHANNING!! :rotfl: :rotfl: And came over and we hugged....it must have looked like long lost relatives having a reunion.:rotfl2: It was wonderful to get to meet them even if it was quick - it was neat. :goodvibes

Earlier in the day at.....*GAG* the Poly....we met my other imaginary friend, Sheila!! I have known her online from Ebay for over a year....gosh maybe more!:rotfl: She called my cell while we were at the *gag* Poly and said WHERE ARE YOU GUYS??? (so I had to admit it out loud:rotfl: ) and she hopped a monorail from MK and met up with us!!!! It was a fun day with meeting my imaginary friends!!!:rotfl:

We just shopped a bit and hung out at the gF....said our goodbyes to GF CMs and vegged. It was gray and rainy today so we didn't attempt to go out anywhere so it was kind of a bum day but we know we will be back.

The GF is super. The CMs and the guests are all SUP{ER!!!!

TTYL!!! I see there are messages being posted while I am typing this.

We just have to wait a bit for our flight to board.....I will be here with you all for company.:goodvibes

LOL...OK...you guys are not being much company....haha....I came back to find I am talking to myself....the GF had new hair dryers in the rooms....they are Conairs but smaller, lighter, and nicer.
Channing

Channing that is so cool that you got to meet Traci.:cool1: OK, I don't know what to do. This December trip was supposed to be a budget trip since we are doing a bit of work around the house. We had our road and driveway paved, it was a BIG job, and there are other things we need to do. Anyway that is why I booked the Hilton originally, I had 2 CL rooms there and wanted to check out a day early and the price was going to go up over $500:sad2: At that price I could stay on site. I looked on the Disney site and nothing was available for our dates but the Swan so I took that. Sooooo today I checked again and GV rooms are available at the GF and the Poly.:yay: Why did I check:lmao: I want to switch to the Poly, we spent the last 2 Decembers at the GF, but this is supposed to be a budget trip and I should stay at the Swan.:confused3 Decisions decisions, I'm starting to sound like Channing with all the changes.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Chan, convince me that I will like the Swan.:santa: DH is no help either, he just says tell me where and when and I'll be there.:rotfl:

Chan and Traci - how fun that yall got to meet!:)
Welcome back, Chan! Can't wait to see your pics! Wonder why Basin was weird about you taking pics?:confused3

Blueskies - wheres Dawn's pumpkin recipe in this thread ? I must have missed it?! I love anything with pumpkin! Also, did you get a cake your last trip? I thought it was you that said you were ordering one. Just wondering how it was? We are thinking of trying a cake from GF bakery in Dec. if the cakes have improved! We gave up for a few years after some bad cakes and service!

Good Morning All:flower3:

Channing How nice that you and Traci got to meet even if it was only for a bit...

Maxie I wouldnt even have to think twice especially if DH is was agreeable the GF is spectacular at Christmas:santa: ...there is a new discount available I saw it on the Disney site and Mousesavers are your dates included in that...Maybe the GF and a discount-talk about a nice Christmas present to yourself..;)

Have a nice Saturday everyone!!

Thanks for the link - I missed it and they sound great! Thanks Dawn! I have a Pumpkin- Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe that is awesome. My kids were just asking if it was time to make them yet! They are full of Crisco so I try to only make them at Halloween/Thanksgiving or I'll gain 100 pounds!!:scared1:

I remember the smaller cake - I've got to go back to check it out. Gotta decide between a cake and the white chocolate Mickey!:)

Happy Saturday Everyone!

Morning Gals :goodvibes

How neat Chan & Traci that you guys got to see each other....even if it was for just a short time :).

Chan.....I hope you're getting back into the swing of things at home ;). How was the soccer game this morning :confused3? Hopefully you stayed warm as it's cloudy and very cold here :sad2:. Can't wait to see your pics :goodvibes.

Traci......I hope you're having a great time :yay:. How was DTD and the T-Rex restaurant???? I hope your little ones enjoyed it ;).

Maxie......Yay for only 146 more days until spring . Hopefully March 20th will get here sooner than later because I can't stand winter and I want spring-like weather back :rolleyes1. Good luck deciding where to stay in December :santa:. I totally understand what you're going through because we are planning to go back December 2009, but I'm trying to keep it on the less expensive side since we're doing the GF for a week in July . I would LOVE to stay at the GF in December but I'm thinking go something a little less expensive with us just being there in July :confused3. I was thinking YC but I really wanted to do CL where ever we stay......but that jumps the price up :sad2:. So I'm really torn, too.....and my DH is no help whatsoever either......he's the same as yours.....just tell him the dates and when he has to be ready to leave for the airport and he's good to go :rotfl: :rotfl:. I've never stayed at the Swan so I have no opinion there .....but I'm sure it's a great resort and whichever one you choose, you will have a great trip :thumbsup2.

Princesses.....Pumpkin-chocolate chip cookies sound yummy :goodvibes.

Hi to everyone else :). Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.... TTYL :upsidedow.

Channing that is so cool that you got to meet Traci. OK, I don't know what to do. This December trip was supposed to be a budget trip since we are doing a bit of work around the house. We had our road and driveway paved, it was a BIG job, and there are other things we need to do. Maxie, we have stayed at the Swan often. We are SPG and I have the STarWood Amex so I used my points and it helps balance out the RPC cost for me...and I really enjoy split stays. I like both areas and I am not too crazy about all the di**ing around with the monorails etc...daily to get to Epcot from the GF....so it makes it so much easier to do DHS and Epcot days from the Swan. I am NOT a BW fan....I am NOT a BC fan...I do like YC but it's not all that...YC is pretty but honestly we enjoy the Swan just as much UNLESS it's summer and Jojo wants a great pool we DO stay at the YC. The Swan's beds are heavenly...they truely are...you feel like you're sinking into a marshmallow cloud and tuck in with a thick plush down comforter. Ahhh....the only thing was I had to sleep with Jojo.:rotfl: She would ruin the heavenly bed thing for me. She winds up sideways and with her feet in my stomach....you get the picture. The location of the Swan cannot be beat. We would walk over to BW Bakery and buy bfast......OR Cape May...but we missed our Cape May!!! We were just free and easy and lazy this trip. The Swan is about a 3 minute walk from the BW, about 15 from DHS and maybe 10 to Epcot. Or the boats....We like it but NOTHING compares to the GF. I think really it's the people at the GF that make it so great. The CMs are super and the guests are nice, too.:goodvibes

The thing that really put a damper on the Swan stay was really the horrid crowds at the DHS and Epcot and the RUDE people in the parks. I am sad to see how people act. I say that every trip!:rolleyes1 :headache: It brings me down...I need to shake it off better but it is SAD. I told DH a few things peeps did and he said I should have said something!!:rotfl: Oh paleaze....I am super shy...right Kelly?:rotfl: No...I am ...I hate confrontation...but he said I am setting a bad example for the girls.:rotfl2: Example....we were in MK and went to COP..you all know how that first row has little groups of seats and then spaces between? We were first in line for COP. Lucy had her white cane out and was using it...it was obvious she is visually impaired. I put them in a seat group of 2 and sat behind them. We were there 30 seconds and this guy comes over and boots my girls out.....he had his dad or grampa in a wheelchair and took their seats.:headache: So...they scrambled back to me and we had to move because the wheelchair blocked the view next to me...so we moved down a bit. Then it was musical chairs because Jojo couldn't see....omg....then sitting where we were I could see down the front row and there were PLENTY of open areas the guy could have put his wheelchair & dad or gpa.....and basically he wanted those center front row seats and this is from LUcy - SHE said he is using it to abuse the system. And that was the truth. It was just a lot of rude pushy ME FIRST people in the parks and it gets OLD FAST. I hate that & we aren't like that but if you're not it seems you get walked on.:rolleyes1

It was wonderful to go back to the GF. Or the Swan. They are both quiet and peaceful & the staff at teh Swan is very nice, too. The GF is nicer..not a doubt but for the price difference the Swan is good, too...KWIM?

For chan:

I love Craig Ferguson and I really love Ewan McGregor

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLCRQHvY0q0

This is so FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK...have to watch that. YOu know me and my Scottish hotty. And I am sure there is more than one out there....Ewan McGregor is good too.:thumbsup2

Chan and Traci - how fun that yall got to meet!:)
Welcome back, Chan! Can't wait to see your pics! Wonder why Basin was weird about you taking pics?

Blueskies - wheres Dawn's pumpkin recipe in this thread ? I must have missed it?! I love anything with pumpkin! Also, did you get a cake your last trip? I thought it was you that said you were ordering one. Just wondering how it was? We are thinking of trying a cake from GF bakery in Dec. if the cakes have improved! We gave up for a few years after some bad cakes and service!

Basin had an old crabby lady working there...never saw her before or after....but she was pissy about it...said due to the "Licensing" yada yada blah blah....I thought she was gonna rip Lucy's camera out of my hands.:rotfl: I think I would have gone CRAZY at that point since that was my back up camera.:rotfl2: I apologized and put it in my purse QUICK. She got super snarky and raggy. I told the concierge CMs and they said NONONONONONO....Said I could take pics anywhere in the hotel I wanted and if I wanted to they'd go down with me so that's what happened. And that crabby lady was not there...just some young nice ones so it was a non issue.

Over all it was a fun time. :goodvibes We had our incidences with losing and breaking stuff and issues with waiting in lines and then had to ditch because Jojo had to go to the bathroom! OMG...story of our first few days there. We missed so much because of her bathroom breaks.... WE attempted the animation thingy THREE TIMES in ONE DAY...the CM was laughing YOU"RE BACK AGAIN.:rotfl: And finally thru in the towel and said enough...we're done. I have to say....I am glad we don't have GM cars. Yay for foreign cars.....that stupid TT is ALWAYS breaking. I don't think it is a good advertisement for GM.:rotfl: In all our trips we have hardly been on it..it's always falling apart! We had a lot of laughs and a lot of fun....toward the end I just told LUcy LET IT GO...because she gets down about the rudeness, too. It isn't going to change so we have to just let it go.:rolleyes1

SWA was great. I love them....and for you Chicago to Orlando flyers....they always put the luggage on carousel 8 in Midway. We know it and seem to be the only ones that do. The flight attendants were a riot and they left 1/2 hr late but got us to Chicago on time.

TTLY!

Chan

Here's a copy (below) of my post from the GF FAq...I just love that place and the people that work there make it so magical. :goodvibes I hope Traci checks in and she has a good room/view etc...and they are having a ball. I know she was going to T Rex. I heard really fun things about it. T Rex sounds very cooloh.

We are home. We had a nice SWA flight & a really great SWA team. THey told the kids they'd have to start peddling to get the plane up off the ground. OK...it kind of creeped me out. Then they said the kids would have to flap their arms.....I love SWA. THey were awesome & fun the whole trip.

We had the most wonderful GF stay AGAIN. A shout out to the housekeeper on the 4th floor RPC. We have had her in the past and she is terrific. She actually arranged and organized our toiletries. She saw we weren't using the coffee maker so she put it on the closet shelf. And made a nice little area with a towel for our stuff. She left several towel animals for my girls & they do get a kick out of it. Kids love that little stuff. We had turn down every night. NO housekeeping issues at all. It was perfect....and she always left us a stash of H2O products.

The lounge ladies were the usuals and we really like them. Always friendly and chatty. The GF concierge staff is awesome. We had a lot of time to chat and laugh with them as the MK closed at 7 and 8 pm. V & J are the best. Lucy actually had problems with her braces and J happened to be in Publix and bought her some wax which was JUST what she needed. He gave the girls some silly stuff he had in his desk and they carried that around with them. We just had a great time & the GF feels like home.

Thanks to D for printing the most BEAUTIFUL Disney photos for me. My camera fell off the security counter and shattered RIGHT as we were entering for the Halloween party. So...that really put a damper on the evening. DD felt terrible and I was sick about it. We had a few "incidences" this trip..... But now I have some really REALLY neat pics of Disney Halloween stuff....and Mr. Potato Head.

The cabanas are updated. They have new thick burgundy cushions on the lounge chairs. They also now have a sofa/love seat in them & they have been switched.....1 & 2 have the tvs and 3 & 4 do not....so it seems 1 & 2 (furthest from the pool store building) are the pre reserved cabanas and 3 & 4 are walk up ressies. They look nicer. There were PD menus on the tables and colorful fluffy drink menus with pics, also.

I took a ton of pics before my camera smashed and then used DD's for the rest. I will post some later. It's tough coming home...but it feels good....Even though we flew thru SNOW! The flight attendant said we should take bets on whether it was rain or snow....then she got confirmation from the ground it was snow. That was when we were really near Chicago and almost starting to descend. It was hailing, windy and rainy here but it does feel good to be home.

THe parks are what kind of really shocked us this time....they closed EARLY and they were CROWDED!!!! I think we prefer going in summer or spring break and having the parks open LATE. This trip the crowds were as bad as Easter in DHS and Epcot but the hours were so short. We spent a day in DHS and did nothing...had a great BD lunch, though. Epcot was so so...we went over one morning and had a fun time in FutureWorld but after dusk in WS it was a bust. I don't enjoy the F&WF...the lines were so deep it's hard to even buy a bottle of water to pop an Advil with. We did mostly MK after we checked into the GF because the crowds were just horrendous in the other parks. I don't think October is such a great time to go...JMO YMMV. The weather was nice almost the whole stay though.

We are sad to have left, but we know we will go back. It was sooo nice to meet some good Dis friends while there.

Happy travels,

Lives4Disney

Afternoon All :)

BlueSkies ~ Nothing from the principal yet :sad2:. I did email him and he responded back by telling me that he gave a copy of the report to the teacher and told her to give him reasons why DS got the grade he did....along with how the other kids did (as well as how many kids actually did it ). So I'm just awaiting his response back :rolleyes1. I'm glad that class is over but I can't believe how fast this year is going by . The first nine week grading period ended this past Wednesday :scared1:......and the first semester is over around January 18th....which is not that far away . As much as I'm not ready for Christmas, I told DH that we were going to put up the tree and decorate the weekend before Thanksgiving so we can enjoy it :santa:. It is alot of work getting everything out and put up to have it up for just a week or two . Our entire weekend of Thanksgiving is always so hectic that I don't want to wait until the first week of December :rolleyes1. And I have actually started thinking about Christmas shopping . I'll start pretty soon as I'm determined not to be running around like a crazy person at the last minute :rotfl: :rotfl:.

Hope everyone is having a nice day :flower3:. It's cloudy and cold here......so makes for a lazy day :upsidedow.
