Have you stayed at a Travelodge in London?

We are looking at booking a Travelodge in London the night before travelling to DLRP on the Eurostar. We will be travelling down to Euston by Virgin train.

Has anyone ever stayed at the Euston, Kings Cross Royal Scot or Kings Cross Travelodges? Which one is closest to Euston / St. Pancras stations? Can you walk or do you need a taxi? Would you stay there again? What about places to eat?

Thanks again for all your help :thumbsup2

Am staying at the Euston Travelodge in a few weeks the night before going to Disney. IIRC it's only a five minute walk to St Pancras

Hi Anne,

If you haven't already check out Tripadvisor have a look at this link....

I stayed there a couple of years ago and found it perfectly adequate for somewhere to park my head prior to catching a train from Kings Cross. It was clean and tidy although basic (you get what you pay for).

It's 2 to 3 minutes walk to St Pancras. It's not the most exclusive part of London but there are plenty of fast food places, curry houses and pizza places etc to eat. It's well lit and very busy so I didn't find it intimidating or dangerous.

I would stay there again if all that is needed is an onernight prior to catching the train. If you are thinking of staying more than that, forget it.

Good Luck and Bon Voyage!!!

Thanks Abacus

We are just looking for somewhere to crash, basic is good - we've used PremierInn in the past but never Travelodge - so sounds ideal.

Don't know if you can help but would the family rooms accommodate 2 adults, 1 16 year old and 1 13 year old (both as taller than me now  ) or would we need to book 2 rooms?

Hi Anne,

Travelodge are no where near as good as Premier Inn but OK for the money. The family room has double bed and pull out double bed. It would be cozy but if your two kids don't mind sharing a bed it may be OK. As for getting two rooms, it's down to your budget. If you start laying out for two rooms then it may be more economical to find a hotel which can accomomodate the four of you in one room. It may be more expensive than the travelodge but less than buying two rooms.

Who said travel was easy....? Far too many choices and decisions to make.

I'm pleased to help if you have any more questions.

Good Luck

Most travel lodges have a double bed, a setee which makes into a single bed and a pull out one which is stored under the setee.
We've stayed in loads and although most are basic they've served the purpose of a bed for the night.

We didnt have a problem with ouselves, DS (21) and DD (8) sharing a room

Hi I've stayed at the Travelodge Kings Cross, and I wouldnt recommend it as its located on top of the railway lines and its very noisy at night.

Rooms were ok - basic but what I expected, they were clean and functional, the rooms dont have hairdryers or tea and coffee facilities.

Also if you checked out of the room and wanted to leave you baggage so you could go for a wander the hotel does not have a luggage room - I found this really annoying when we went but if your getting the eurostar in the morning it probably wouldnt bother you!

I think the other two travelodges are in better locations so I would go for one of them!
