Have you (or anyone you know) been on a GAME SHOW?

We know a guy who was on Jeopardy. He came in 3rd. He said he knew most of the answers but couldn't get the hang of the buzzer. His consolation prize was a telescope and he had to pay taxes on it!

My dad was on The Price is Right a long time ago and won a snow mobile.

a friend from high school was on jeopardy a few years back, he won a few days in a row and did pretty well (amazing memory and big trivia fan).

a college prof. i had went on sale of the century and won the max number of times-every time he had the option to purchase a prize he bought a vacation. he said he had enough trips to last him and his partner for many years:thumbsup2

not a friend, but there's a guy a my credit union who many years ago traveled to southern calfornia for a family vacation. he and his wife were big price is right fans and just wanted to get in to see the show. he ended up getting picked and ultimatly won the showcase. he said it was like christmas for several weeks after they arrived home-every few days another delivery truck with prize arrivals.

My SAI little sis was in the Jeopardy college tournament and made it to the final but lost the a guy from U of Arkansas. We are both still fans of the show all these years later.

I used to work with two guys who were on Don't Forget the Lyrics. They're identical twin brothers, tall blonde guys - if you'd seen the show they were on you might remember them. They won a fair bit of money I think, but had to split it between them!

My brother and sister-in-law were on Cash Cab - they didn't win, and they're still kind of bitter about it (they hate it when my parents replay their episode on the DVR at get togethers)!

We used to have a local kids show called Clancy and Willy. It was along the lines of Bozo the Clown. When I was in 1st or 2nd grade we went with school. The "big" deal was everyone in the audience got a grab bag to take home and a couple of the grab bags has "big bonus prizes". Well, the big bonus prizes ended up being a pound of hamburger and some sausage links :lmao::lmao::lmao:. Needless to say, those that got the "big bonus prize" were less than thrilled.

A friend of ours was on the Price is right last winter. His brother "made" him go - he won a collection of travel guides to get on stage, then a nice dining room set. He didn't get into the showcase showdown.

A long time ago, our pastor's wife won around $10k on the Wheel of Fortune.

I win the wheel of fortune every time it's on. Seriously, sometimes I wonder if the people chosen for the show have ever even SEEN the show!
Although, I know being actually ON the show has to be very unnerving!

Um, I was in the audience for an episode of Let's Make a Deal. I wasn't picked, and I don't think I ever made it on camera - but the woman behind me won a living room set!

Years ago, I was channel surfing and was surprised to find an old acquaintance on "Win Ben Stein's Money." And even better ... she beat him!!

She had also been on "Jeopardy" but I never saw that one.

My brother and sister-in-law were on Cash Cab - they didn't win, and they're still kind of bitter about it (they hate it when my parents replay their episode on the DVR at get togethers)!

Whenever we are in NY...My DD always looks for the Cash Cab. That would be so cool to be on.

I've known 2 people on Wheel of Fortune. They both went to the final round. The first ended up with like $35,000 in cash & prizes, the second actually won the $100,000 grand prize!

Yes. A friend of ours went on Jeopardy about 7 years ago. Won the first day. Lost the second. I can't remember what he won.

A co-worker was on Deal or No Deal that aired on Thanksgiving night a few years back. She won about 50K. I made my husband and cousin watch it with me. We had a blast watching her!

My cousins wife was on The Price is Right and even go snotty with Bob Barker. My maiden name is Linkletter and when Bob asked if she was related to Art she said "Do you think I would be here if I was" She just did an episode Who Wants to be a Millionaire it's due to show in April.

I was on MTV's "Remote Control" when I was in college. I beat out about 500 people to get on the show, but I didn't end up winning. It was kind of cool, though, because MTV would show the reruns, and I would get recognized at Penn State sometimes that year.

Oh wow! I LOVED that show.

One of my friend's boyfriend's dad was on Jeopardy and won! Also, I had a teacher that was on Jeopardy (he didn't win).

I was on Price is Right. I won a sailboat (AMF minifish) to get on stage, then played the "lucky 7" game and won a Pontiac J2000. I missed getting to showcase on the "spin wheel" by $5.

I know someone at my church who was on Wheel of Fortune several years ago. It was back when you bought your prizes with the money that you earned. I remember her joking about buying an ice bucket...LOL:lmao:

My SIL has been on The Price is Right & The Weakest Link (the daytime version...she was the first weakest link when she didn't know when Black History month was...she was SO embarrased, lol! My DD was about 3 or 4 at the time and my mom taped it so she would ask to watch her Auntie O on TV over and over until the VCR ate the tape :rotfl:).

My Uncle in law was on Tic Tac Dough many moons ago. He did pretty well from what I hear too!

I'm currently in the contestant pool for Jeopardy. We'll see if they pick me, they keep us in the pool for 18 months, then if you're not called to be on the show after 18 months, then you can re-test. I did awesome at my auditions though. We played a mock game, I went up against a corporate lawyer and a writer from the Food Network. I kicked their butts and answered all but a couple of the questions. We'll see if I make it!
