Have you gotten a COVID vaccine?

So happy to officially join this thread as a vaxxed American....first dose of Moderna late this afternoon. Zero side effects so far. Nurse did an amazing job....didn't even feel it! :). Second dose scheduled for April 20th....exactly 28 days later (which is also a good zombie movie if you're into that kind of thing). :).

I would contact your doctor's office and get that 2nd appointment. It is important to get it within the suggested time frame.

You can go up to like 47 days. It's not a big deal. They actually think it might work BETTER with a longer time between doses.

CT opened up 45 and older this weekend. I had no issues getting an appointment at CVS for the date and time I wanted. First Pfizer shot today. No issues so far outside of a sore arm. Second scheduled on 4/15. CVS was great. Very efficient. CT has been one of the best states distributing vaccines. They are planning on opening up the remainder of the state - 16 and over on 4/5.

CVS and Safeway both just opened to all of 1B in VA on Friday - both companies tend to drop appointments around 8am on Mondays, so if you can't find one this week, have her go on either website then (or maybe start checking at 7am, b/c they may drop earlier - I just never checked til 8am:)), and you should find an appointment...

Thank you. She let me know this morning that she was able to get an appointment for Sunday at CVS. She got on at midnight last night to get the appointment.

DD got her first dose of Pfizer yesterday. She said her arm felt “dead.” She went about her day after and seems fine. I’ll update if she reports any side effects.

I have my first dose (not sure which) on Friday. 16+ opened up for underlying conditions. I went back and forth on it. I have been telling people if you qualify you qualify even if the condition seems minor compared to others get it. So I’m taking my own advice. I’m suddenly really nervous for some reason. I have no history of allergies or adverse reactions so it should be no big thing.

I'm wondering if my terrible reactions to Shingrix (finished last month) is now making this one no big deal.

I'm at the 21 hour point, and pretty much other that a touch more tired and a little sore and lymph node noticeability for a few hours yesterday (like 1 on a 1-10 pain scale), I've had no side effects. I'm knocking on serious wood b/c I know these can crop up within the 1st 48-72, so I have a little more time to go, but it's my least problematic of all my vaccines this year (I had Prevnar 13 and 23 - aka the "old or sick pneumonia" series, a flu shot, and the 2 dose Shingrix series)...

Although, I guess this might indicate I'm gonna get hammered on the 2nd dose of Pfizer, so time to make sure April 13/14 end up empty on my calendar.

I got one yesterday, the Pfizer one. I was told by one of the workers at a vax site that they had extra appointments, so I got in. Yay! The process was very easy. I did feel a little tired afterward - I'm not sure it was the vaccine but it is a little unusual for me to take a nap after work. I was just a little drained, but I feel fine now and have no soreness in my arm other than would be expected from any injection (basically unnoticeable unless I bump it or something). I'll need a second does and then I shall be invincible, ha ha ha! 😉

I got my first shot three hours ago. Pfizer. So far, so good. I get the second shot on April 21. There was such a sense of relief after the first one, knowing there may be a light at the end of the tunnel.
I get my second Moderna shot a week from today. I totally agree about how encouraging it is to be on the road toward full vaccination.

If I could find anywhere that even lets me get on a waiting list I would be happy. I continually see “check back later.”

I got my first dose last weekend (Pfizer) and my 16. year old got her first dose yesterday. Our state is currently open to 40+ (or 16+ with qualifying medical conditions, or specific occupations). It will open to everyone 16+ next Monday. However, the governor noted on last Monday that there were appointments in some areas of the state that were going unfilled and he urged them to offer any unfilled appointments to anyone, rather than let them go to waste. A nearby county (45 miles-ish) had a clinic yesterday and I watched their morning appointments fall off the schedule without being filled, so I called... and they said "bring her in." So I pulled her out of school at lunchtime and took her to get her first dose. We'll have to drive back for the 2nd dose but that's a small price to pay -- and as luck would have it, she only has a 1/2 day of school on 2nd dose day anyway.

Now I have to figure out a way to get my son vaccinated. He's in a tiny college town and has no car.

I get my second this afternoon and I am getting nervous.

We get our second (Pfizer) on Friday afternoon and I'm starting to feel a bit nervous about the 'after', I mean I'm not crazy about getting needles but I'll suck it up. But I'm starting to be irrationally concerned with feeling like crap warmed over on Saturday and/or Sunday. My husband was very, very tired and zapped of all energy about a week after the first shot, to the point where he was in bed for 24 hours. I'm hoping he doesn't have a worse reaction.
Regardless, it will be what it will be since we are going in for the second shot come hell or high water. I recognize it's irrational on my part...

Finally got my 2nd Pfizer vaccine today, was meant to get in January but it got moved to follow Government guidence in UK. Feel ok so far, arm just feels bruised. Person who gave it said 2nd vaccine will bring out the side effects so just rest, fluids and paracetamol.

I was fine after 1st so hopefully not too back this time.

You were supposed to get the second one in January and just now got it? Why is the UK pushing the second vaccine so far out?
