Has anyone else not got their voter cards in the mail yet? My family and I have not got ours and in the past they seem to come alot earlier. If we don't get them today we will call Elections Canada to find out what's going on, because last week we got something in the mail about the election with a phone number to call them.

Yes, we all got ours in the mail over a week ago. The adults in our house are me, dh and dsil (she lives downstairs) and we all got ours on the same day in the mail LOL

I hope yours come soon, but if they don't, then you should definitely call EC to find out how to vote without them.

Good luck :flower3:

We got ours early-mid last week. :) Hopefully yours are coming soon. :thumbsup2

We got ours last week... I somehow got 2.. Strange, but oh well, DH got his as well at the same time.. I'm sure it will come soon... If not do you know where you're supposed to vote?

In the past for both federal and provincal elections it was the same high school we would vote at, however for the most recent provincal election we were told to vote at a different high school. So I am not sure if the location when voting for the federal election has changed.

Received DH's and mine over a week ago. Same place as all the other times:thumbsup2

5 voters in our house. 4 came. Can you guess whose didn't? I called, confirmed that I am on the list, and will take ID when I go to vote. Now....to decide who is getting that vote.

All the cards have been sent. You need to call and find out if they have you on the list. My DIL didn't have one and she has to be registered again even though she voted in the last election and nothing changed about her residence. If you don't do it soon you may not be able to vote.

I am an Information Officer for the upcoming election and yes you can register on voting day even if you didnt receive your VIC,just make sure you bring ID with your name AND address to the polls.:)

My DW and mine were waiting for us when we got back from Disney World last Thursday.

You do not need the voter card to vote nor can it be used prove you have the right to vote.

All you need is ID and proof of address.

Other than telling you where your poll is and where you can vote in advanced polls the card doesn't do much.

The thing we got in the mail about the election said we did not get the voter cards by October 7th then we should call them. However I do know we are registered because we all voted in the last 2 federal elections and last 2 provincal elections.

For the last election I forgot my card - I had id on me - and the officer would not let me vote. Actually told me to go home and get my card! Good thing one of us knew the rules - had to have her call a supervisor to prove I was right and she was wrong. Ugh! You could actually vote without id as long as you were on the voters list - you just swore an oath to say you were who you said you were.
I read that for this election you can vote without the card or id as long as you have someone with you who has id on them that can vouch for you. Again - both of you need to swear an oath. I'd assume you need to be on the voters list already.

mickeywho? yes you can have someone vouch for you but that person has to live within your polling area and that neighbour can only vouch for 1 person during the whole election and if you are not registered you may do so at your polling place first.

And for this election everyone must have proper ID with their name and address on it.

Sammi - quick question...
If you don't get a card (or forget it) and don't bring id - can you have a neighbour vouch for you if they have id and are registered at the same polling station?

Yes as long as your neighbour is in the same polling area as you and they will have a map at the polling station to check for you. The neighbour must have proper ID though.
