I tried the Magic Eraser because of I've read so many people praise it here on the DIS, and I have to agree that it is a great product. Mr. Clean should pay the DIS for all the free advertising . Also - thanks for the tip about using dish soap in the laundry. I'll have to try that.

This isn't a "miracle" since it takes a few weeks, but the Jergens lotion that is suppose to make you have to shave less (skin smoother or something like that!) does work! I was really skeptical, but have been using it all summer and call tell a BIG difference.

I'm going to try the dishwashing soap on DH's workclothes! I'd never heard of doing that before. If it can clean the construction dirt off of his clothes, I'll be very impressed!

I use the Magic Erasers, and they work great!

My sister has a George Foreman grill, and can't say enough good things about it! I better look into that also!

"The Works" bathroom cleaner, LOVE that stuff!!

We have hard water (DH doesn't put salt in the softener as often as he should ) and "The Works" does a wonderful job cleaning the rust stains off the tub/shower. Just spray it on, and as it travels down it "eats" whatever is in its path! Very little, if any, scrubbing involved. Basically just rinse. I use it about once a month on the tubs/shower doors.

Clorox Clean-up : :My counters are white, and Clorox Clean up has gotten EVERY red Koolaid stain as well as everything else off of them. Also, cleaned the grout on my bathroom floors wonderfully!

Oxy-Kick : Has gotten grape Kool-aid, paint, play-dough, mud, coke, etc. out of my carpet. Love this stuff!

Love my George Foreman grill, and the other thing I love is my Ostrich feather duster that I got from FlyLady.net. Sounds silly, but it makes dusting almost fun.

(Oh, and speaking of cheap laundry products...most of you may know this, but vinegar makes an excellent fabric softener. I thought that things would smell funny, but didn't notice any vinegary smells in my clothing.)

A product I haven't seen mentioned in this thread is Woolite Oxy-Deep for carpet spot. Works great. I loaned it to my brother-in-law ans he said it cleaned the (ewww) vomit stain off his new couch, from when my nephew was sick. I also use it to pre-treat stains on my hubby's work clothes (construction).
However, I am going to try dish detergent in the laundry, because that sounds like a real money-saver if it works! Just remember, everyone, don't do the opposite! Hubby washes his hats in the dishwasher, and twice now he's put too much laundry detergent on them. Grrr

"Back to Black" product for cars by a company called Mother's. I wiped it on my husband's black bumper where I had long since accidentially gotten wax and the white just disappeared. I also had a clump of something on the black bottom on the door, tar or rosin or something. It just disolved. Also the same company's Clay Bar. Unbelievable at removing stuff you didn't even know was stuck to the car's paint.

Another vote for Magic Eraser! It also works well at getting the grime off the shower stall doors.

Proactive is great for a clear complexion.

Oxy clean has been great getting all those stubborn stains out of my kids clothing.


It looks like there are alot of neat products mentioned in this thread. I've now got a list of things I want to try!

I LOVE the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. It cleans everything. I do wish, though, that it didn't fall apart so easily.

Goo Gone. It works great to clean the black stuff off of the candles, which is the reason I bought it. However, it works WONDERFUL on stains on clothes. Sometimes I get a grease stain on clothes or something, and this takes it out great. It also works on stubborn little marks on the floor. In fact, before I mop I always squirt it on the spots before I mop.

Vinegar is such a wonderful thing for our dishwasher. Our water is horrible! We put vinegar in every load we do in the dishwasher. Everything looks so much better.

I have to agree with the Goo Gone. I buy lots of stuff to sell on eBay and some of them have stickers with prices on them. I use the Goo Gone to get rid of them and the one I bought has a fresh orange fragrance that leaves it smelling good, also!

Here is a little story....

About 1 week from the closing on our house the dog tracked in TAR, (dont ask) on the, BRAND NEW CARPET.

We went to walgreens and bought every single carpet cleaning thing they had. (it was kinda fun ) It was expensive but we thought if we could get the tar off: it would be worth it.

Well, fast forward about an hr. We've tryed alot of things and nothings working!!! I pick up the goo gone, pour it on, and the tar starts to, DISAPPEAR!!! We were jumping for joy. Best product ever. period.

If we hadn't got the tar off, we may not have sold the house.

Peanut butter also works well for getting price stickers off things. I use creamy.

Another vote for the Mr Clean Magic Eraser. Just bought a pack tonight to get the house ready to be shown by the realtors...it GOT OFF EVERYTHING! How cool is that!

Zap cleaner! My DH is a smoker and often puts his cigarettes on the edge of the bathroom or kitchen counter. When we were moving out of our last house I was trying to clean the burn stains off the counters and NOTHING would take it off. I saw the Zap at Walmart and remembered the comercials so I figured I'd give it a try. It WORKED! You couldn't tell there was ever a mark there at all. Smells nice too. I swear by that. I also love my George Foreman grill, use that almost daily. And by the way, stop wasting money on expensive flea shampoos for your cat or dog. My vet recommended just plain old Dawn dishsoap. Yup, Dawn. Works great and kills every flea the first time. No weird flea shampoo smells and doesn't hurt the dog or cat in the slightest.

I should clarify before everyone runs out for Dawn for their pets. DON'T get the ultra formula. Just the plain stuff. I'm not sure exactly why but the vet told me specifically to avoid ultra.
