Felt that you just didn't have the money for a Disney trip, or maybe you've just been going to Disney every year for years and some family members were complaining that there are other places to take vacations, so you do your research and pick a place that isn't Disney, but you hope it will do. And here I sit, listening to my family asking why we didn't go to Disney and when can we get back there

Last summer, I took my family to WDW for 5 days while staying at CBR. It was wonderful... everyone had a fantastic time. Upon getting home, I starting thinking about planning how to get back (my family says I'm obsessed with Disney). Well, we will be staying at BWV next March for 7 days. I bought tickets several months ago (before the prices increased ) & last month we got our confirmations at BWV. Like you, my spouse tried to convince me to research other destinations... but with the ages of our kids, WDW is the ONLY place I will consider!My kids are already thanking me for it, too!

We have typically alternated between a beach and WDW. We did the Fort in 2012. Last year we were fortunate to do both WDW (spring break at our friends DVC SSV) and the beach in August. This year we were going to go somewhere in the Caribbean, but we decided to remodel (total gut) our kitchen instead. I am racing outside Denver the middle of July, so our "vacation" this year will be spending a week in the Rockies before racing.

My DW and DS have never been in the mountains so it will be something new for them, but we really love the beach and Disney and it seems like less of a vacation since we aren't doing either one.

Have not had that experience to date, but I can see the possibility. I am going to have a bit of trip deprivation soon, while I am using my camper lots it is at what I call my seasonal spot at the race track I work as an official for. I want to take a trip, but just cannot find the time to do so this summer.

My DW and I both enjoy our Disney trips (me more than her) so this summer we are fortunate enough to send 5 days at WDW and 6 days at the beach. I am not happy with staying off site but anything is better than not going. She works in a Dr.'s office and she wants a little peace and quiet so we will finish our vacation at the beach. I would love spending the whole time at WDW but I try to be a good and supportive husband that realizes that she works hard and should be able to enjoy her vacation time as she sees fit. I will compromise and hopefully that will get us 5 days at the Fort in late Oct., keeping fingers crossed.

We have been to the Fort many times over the last 10 years and our kids just don't want to go anymore. We just sold our motorhome and will do different vacations for a while, probably over seas for something different.

I can definitely say we will be back at some time but its nice to experience everything this planet has to offer!!!

Well seeing as we are 1500 miles away, it's not easy to go to WDW multiple times. Once in 2004, 2011 combined with a Daytona 500 trip, and just Epcot in 2012 with another Daytona/Universal trip. We have been multiple places, Wisconsin Dells, Branson, MO numerous times, Yellowstone National Park, Custer National Battlefield to name a few. There are other places to see than WDW. We are celebrating birthdays and anniversary at WDW this year in December, we want to see WDW at Christmas time. After that, I don't know when we will return. If you haven't seen Yellowstone, it's someplace you do want to take in and spend a week. We love going to Disney but there are just other places to go too.

Everyone is right on this issue. Disney is great and there are MANY other wonderful places to see in this country and in Canada. We couldn't decide where to go so we sold the house, bought a motorhome and are trying to see it all ! We do get back to WDW at least once a year.

Why would you go anywhere but Disney??

But seriously you have to mix it up to appreciate WDW and the other wonderful places in this USA. We are also over 1000 miles away, we alternate between Custer/Badlands/Yellowstone/Glacier in the Summer, then the next year we do Disney in the Fall. We spent too many summers getting soaked every single solitary day at Disney. Our daughters attend High School online, the DW works online, I can take my 3 weeks anytime so we are fortunate to do fall trips.

We definitely go other places throughout the year. The problem was with our "big" summer trip. We had been going to Disney as soon as school let out, but DH complained that we do that every year and it's expensive.

I chose a campground on Florida's panhandle that has WiFi -- an essential for the kids. It's on a creek that flows out to the bay, which I thought my fisherman husband would enjoy. Lots of good restaurants in the area for the pleasure of both DH & DD, who are both foodies.

In the beginning they were complaining about missing Disney. In the end they settled down and enjoyed themselves ok, but everyone wanted to come home at the end of the week. That never happens when we're at the Fort.
