Have YOU ever stolen anything?

Rock salt. Yes, I stole rock salt from the county commission barn when we lived across the street. They had big piles of it in the winter and when nobody was around we'd go steal some. It tasted good. :)

When I was in 7th grade I needed typing paper for school, so I rode my bike to Walgreens with the money my mom gave me to buy the paper. I bought the paper, but then remembered I needed to get a couple of birthday cards (I don't remember who they were for). I discretely slid the cards in the brown bag with the typing paper without paying for them. On my way out the door, I stopped at the magazine stand to read the teen magazines. I started feeling really guilty, so I took the cards out and put them behind a magazine. Then I left the store.

Right when I walked out, a man followed me and asked to see inside my bag. Then he handed the bag back to me and said he thought I had taken something, but he was mistaken and apologized. My heart was pounding a million beats a minute!

I walked to my bike and unlocked it. I looked inside my bag again to make sure my receipt was in there for the paper so I could give it to my mom, and noticed one of the cards was still in the bag! When I had quickly pulled the cards out to put behind some magazines, I had grabbed only one card and the two envelopes. The other card was still in the bag but was facing the paper, so at first glance it just looked white against the white typing paper which was why the man who looked in my bag didn't see it!

While riding home, I stopped near a building that had a wooden fence up against it. I took the card out of my bag and slid it behind the fence where it probably is still sitting over 30 years later! I was very shaken up by that (thought someone from the store was following me home  ). I never stole anything else again!

And back in the days (long time ago) when all pop (soda) bottles were returnable (no cans nor plastic bottles then), we would take cases of bottles (2 cents for regular 8 or 12 oz bottles, 24 bottles to a case, and 5 cents for quarts, 9 bottles to a case) from behind one grocery store, where they were waiting to be picked up by the pop company (Coke, Pepsi, etc) and we would cart them over to the other grocery store in town, bring them in the front door and get the refunds. :cool2:

Dan!!! I can't believe you did that:lmao:!!!! Now that's creative recycling;)!

Well, anywho, when I was about 4 years old, I stole my neighbor's black cat. Got him a blanket and put him down in the basement. When my parents found him (same day), they marched me over to the neighbor's house with the cat and they made me apologise for stealing their cat. I was HUMILIATED!!!!! Never stole a black cat again:thumbsup2. But don't ask me about the Penrose Hot Sausages at the local market:rolleyes1!

When I was like 6 I wanted a pack of cards from Toys R Us, it was only a dollar but my mom said no, so I took them.

My mom once took some of those skiens of thread for her sewing project from wal-mart. My brother is handicap, so she would put him in the basket of the cart, but he wouldn't leave the thread alone, so my mom stuck it in her pocket so he wouldn't mess it up, and then forgot about it when she got to the register. She was like "aren't I missing something??" it wasn't until we got home she realized what she did. And my sister worked at that store.

I used to have a really bad habit of stealing pens. Not something I did intentionally. But if you handed me a pen to write something, it would end up in my purse. I have no idea how. I am getting better at it though. Most of the time I either use my own pen (from my purse) or try my best to remember to give them back their pen. So there you have it, I am a pen thief.

I had the same problem...I love it when they have the "huge flowers" taped to them so you don't take them. It makes me smile and know they do it cuz I'm one of those people who take the pens.

I stole a dog once. Yup, a dog.

My friend told me about a dog that was being abused by his owner, and it was making her furious because she couldn't get the SPCA to do anything about it. She said she was pretty sure the owner threw the dog down a flight of steps, because she lived next door to him and she could hear it through the townhouse walls. And the dog appeared to be starving as well.

So, we waited until the guy went to work (night shift), we went into the house (she had a key) at about 3:30am and we quietly and descreetly took the dog to a new, happy, loving home.

Yeah, I stole a dog. And I'm proud of it :thumbsup2

My mother and I stole a box of Kleenex from Target. The box was in the seat part of the cart and I threw my coat over top of it. We checked out and as we were leaving I went to put my coat on and there was the Kleenex box. We walked out anyway and the alarm went of but the employee just waved us through....I feel like such a criminal.

Once when I was in the Army I stole a radar set worth over a million dollars and a 2½ ton truck to tow it away with.

Gotta admit this is one that even I might have done. If an animal is in harms way I'd do what I could too!

hi. my name is shelby, and i am a pen theif.

if you give me a pen, and if i don't give it back in ten or so seconds, its mine and you'll never see it again. i don't mean to, i just have a lot of things in my head usually, and i forget to give the pen back. if you remind me though, i'll return it. but yes, i have hundreds of pens that don't belong to me. lol.

Intentionally I have once.......when I was 7 I took one of those rubber stamps that had an inking pad in the cap. I wanted one so bad, and my mom wouldn't get it for me. I never told her. Like the OP....for months and months afterwards every time I heard a cop car I thought they were coming to get me. Never did that again!!

Now several years ago I was shopping right before the holidays and I had a cart load of stuff. The store was really crowded. My cashier was very, very interested in talking to her coworker at the next register. Anyhow, I had a Dirt Devil vacuum in my cart. I told the cashier 3 times I had it in my cart don't forget to use the portable scanner. She did use the portable scanner and she must not of actually of gotten it to register though. Anyhow, about 3 days later when I was going over my receipts to put them in my "Christmas receipts" envelope, I noticed I never got charged for the vacuum. It was almost a $100.00 vacuum too. I would of noticed except, I had several hundred dollars of items in my cart for the holiday's.

I felt really guilty and debated going back.....I didn't though. My concern by that point was that the store wouldn't believe me and they'd of thought I stole it. It really hung heavy on me for quite a while....I'm the type that when someone even gives me wrong change I give it back too them.

So I guess I stole that too since I never did go back.

I contemplated shipping my stolen Mickey purse from WDW back to them :rotfl:

When I was about 11, my BFF and I found a stray dog and we thought we were going to take care of it, so we went to the corner store to get supplies (we didn't even ask our parents ~ I don't know what we were thinking).

We didn't have enough for a collar so she talked me into shoving it up my coatsleeve. I got out of the store with it but I was so sick the rest of the day, I couldn't even get out of bed. I never, ever wanted to take anything again!

Actually yes. TODAY!

I was at Walmart with my DD13 and she was pushing the cart because I use a scooter. Not the ones they provide but my own. She was looking at something so I went to get a bike bell I have been wanting for my scooter. I threw it in the little basket attached to the front. Later as we were wating to check out I looked in my basket to make sure I had taken the bell out and put it in the cart and didn't see it so I knew I had.

Well as we were loading the car and went to put the scooter in, the basket fell off and the bell came out.:headache: No idea how I didn't see it in the store. I was annoyed because I really wanted this bell but there was no way I was going back in to pay for it. The scooter was already put away and it is a pain to load and unload. So a guy came by that was collecting carts while I was trying to figure out the easiest way to deal with it and I handed it to him and told him what happened and asked him to please just take it back.

Now I still don't have a bell.

Sorry this is off topic, but....OP, everytime I see your screen name written in little letters when I'm scrolling through the listing of threads, I read it as PORNlover.:rotfl2: I'm sorry. I either have to get to the eye doctor or get my mind out of the gutter-not sure which.

ROFLMAO you're not the first! People have dirty minds!:rotfl2:

:woohoo: Someone else with a name that is misread in a very unique way!!!:woohoo:

I intentionally stole a pair of jeans... the babysitting/theft thread today reminded me of this. When I was 12 I had a summer long babysitting job for a TERRIBLE 7 year old :sad2: I hated it because he was such a pain and I was mad that I gave up my whole summer when my friends were hanging out everyday. This was the year Dirty Dancing came out I think, those long early 60"s style jean shorts were in style again (knee length and rolled up at the bottom??).
I really wanted a pair and my mom wouldn't let me cut any of my jeans, so I took a pair of the mom's jeans while I was babysitting and cut them and put them on under the shorts I was wearing lol. I remember I freaked out because I didn't know what to do with the part I cut off so I put them on my arms (I was wearing a sweatshirt) :rotfl: I felt horrible when she came home and was sooooo scared that she'd notice I was wearing them under my regular shorts, plus I had to roll them up really high to hide them and they were cutting of circulation to my legs.
When I got home I realized that I didn't have an explanation to give my mom as to where I got them, so I ended up throwing them away. I babysat the rest of the summer and she never said anything about it. I still feel bad about it. Hopefully they weren't her favorite jeans.
