Have you ever requested a specific room number?

We loved our room the last time we stayed at Boardwalk Inn & will request it in August again. Anyone had luck with actual room numbers and not just a location?

The only time I suggested a particular room was staying Poly CL in the Hawaii building. And even then I gave a suggested range of rooms I thought we would prefer, a group of 3 on the 1st floor where we had previosuly stayed. I did get put in one of them. But I think that is a different situation entirely than in the main part of a resort. Our choices were already shrunken down to one building and one side of the hallway due to our view that we had paid for. And less people request first floor, so that improved our chances too.

I would not request a specific room number. When we stayed at AKV this year, I put in a location-type request, but when we checked in, I made sure to mention it and also said "when we were here last year, we stayed in a room that was (fill in details here) and it was so perfect". I didn't even remember the room number, but gave the general location of where it was and what floor. We were placed in the room next door to our previous room. I consider that lucky as well.

You are much better off to specify what you want in a room and why than just asking for a room number. Because if that room isn't available and that's all you said, you will just get put anywhere.

Yeah, once. Did not get it. Didn't even get close to it. But I really wanted that room so I thought I would give it a try.

We did once, sorta... I sent a fax years ago to GF and explained how much we loved room #### in Boca Chica last time we visited. Then I asked if there was anyway we could be placed in a similar room we would be so happy. When we checked in we had been given the exact same room! I'm sure it was pure luck but we were ecstatic!

You could request room # but add an explanation like the other posters did so they know why you liked that location. If you just request a room and they have no idea why, chances are you'll just be put anywhere if that room is already occupied.

I am doing the faxed room request by Touring Plans this trip so I am requesting a room number, but i am giving them 5 room numbers that I might like. I have heard great success stories from people who have used TP's room request fax and got the exact room they wanted. I am staying in a royal room at Riverside and these do not get fully booked, so I am hoping that I get at least 1 out of the 5 room numbers I put on the fax.

I requested a range of room numbers at POFQ via fax. The examples I gave were 3322-3328, and I got 3319. Which turned out great.

We have asked for medical reasons on a number of occassions for two or three different room numbers or sections, we have never recieved what we asked for, but have recieved rooms that did ok mostly, but I tell them what the needs are and why. It is hard to tell on a map so maybe Disney gave us the best rooms to satisfy our needs, since we never got to see the rooms we requested. I called just this morning and was on hold, going thru ressies, disability, hotel front desk and such, I give up asking for a specific room number and just made sure it was on my ressies what we needed for medical reasons. My question could not be answered by anyone which was very frustrating, all I wanted to know was what was the best view catagory for me to book under. If there is 2 standard corner rooms, 7 garden view corner rooms and 3 pool view corner rooms, the best for me to book to get what I want is garden view. Disney reservations, disability, hotel front desk and room as singers would not answer the question. They just kept saying if you get there and the room does not meet your needs tell us. Guess we will just wait and see, Disney does great some times but we have had some disasters and had to go and request other rooms.

Yes, I asked years ago. No, i didn't get the room. Now I book as close as possible to what I want and give a range or category for them to work with. They do the best that they can and I am generally happy with my room assignment.

Good luck! I hope that you get a room that you love!

I haven't had good luck recently requesting even a specific building, my request is always completely ignored. But on check-in, I've always been accommodated.

On last trip, my parents and brother were getting to WDW three days before me. They both had requested adjoining rooms, but got put in different buildings, so they asked for adjoining rooms, and got moved no problem. Since I knew their exact room numbers, I called three days beforehand and requested a room in the same building. CSR put us on the other side of the resort. We asked for the same building, and they had a room available and ready right then (this was 11am).

We did this for our trip earlier this month. Much to our surprise we did get our request and the room was ready when we arrived!!!

I put in a building and view request and got neither one. the GS CM told us it was most likely because we arrived early in the day and they wanted our room to be ready. We would have been o.k. with that however that room was also not ready. We did not get the building or view we wanted but we did get a ready room in the next building over.

My TA added it to my reservation. I did not get the exact room. We ended up with a corner room two doors down. We loved having the extra window to decorate for my daughters bday.

The only time I did was at BWV - I requested 2123, 3123 or 4123, the larger corner 1 bedrooms near the parking lot. End up on the other end of the resort near Jellyrolls, last room in the hall.

A specific room will only be available if the party staying in it vacates on your arrival day. If not, you can't be assigned it. Sure it will work for some but not something you can count on. And then the problem comes if that's your request. The room assigners won't know why you want the room. It's usually much better to make a request like near the elevator or a specific view. Then the reviewers can assign the room based on the criteria you want.

My Dad requested a room number at Old Key West when we stayed there. He wanted to get in the building near the main pool. We didn't get the exact room he wanted, but it was in the building near the main pool.

No, because if that specific room isn't available they won't know why you want it. It's better to be more specific about what you're looking for and in order of importance. Near pool, upper floor, etc. We've made our requests using online check-in the last two trips and have been very happy with both rooms.
