This is inspired by the Drinks at the pool thread. Have you ever had a WDW seagull swoop down and steal anything form you?

A couple of years ago when DH and I were in the MK, we were walking along the bridge that runs from Liberty Square toward the Splash/Thunder Mountain area. I was enjoying a lovely Mickey bar when a seagull swooped down and stole it right out of my hand, stick and all!!!!!!!!!!! Luckily, we were close to another ice cream vendor who saw what happened and replaced it. He said it happens all the time.

Several years ago, my friend and I were walking through Epcot and got a funnel cake from the little vendor booth near The American Adventure, and a seagull swooped down and knocked the plate right out of her hand! Didn't get the funnel cake, though, but of course, we didn't get to eat it either!

Well this isn't a seagull swooping down, but in March at BWV my DH was sleeping by the pool and listening to me eat my Ritz Chips. Then, he looked up and saw me across the pool, but I was still behind him eating my chips! Of course when he turned around it was one of those black birds that had opened the bag and was chowing down!!

Last October,on the Boardwalk, then 3 yr old DD lost her big pretzel to an aggressive gull. Ooh wasn't she mad!

Crooks!

Latest Department of Justice survey shows convicted gulls are clogging our prisons. Let's keep them out of our DVC neighborhood!!!!  :p

My husband and I were sitting out the out door tables at the Grand Floridian eating lunch when a Sea Gull swooped down and plucked a French Fry right out of my husbands hand mid way between the plate and his mouth.

We have found some of the black birds at Typhoon Lagoon near the food service area's are a little aggressive too, especially when they try to nab a french fry. :smooth:

Those WDW birds do get pretty bold! I've seen how they adapt to the free handouts. When OKW first opened you had to be "very quiet" to see an ibis. THey tended to only be out in the early morning and they flew off at the slightest sound of a door opening. Nowadays, they could care less who is around and even take handouts. (Must have had a discussion with Mr. & Mrs. Duck.)

I've wittnessed a couple of gull hot dog thefts, but never got called to testify. Both were in Frontierland in the MK.::MickeyMo

not only the gulls, but who else has had an encounter with those determined peacocks at River Country?

I was bombarded once in Fantasyland while holding a pretzel. One seagull hit me on the side of the head while another swooped down from behind and grabbed the piece of pretzel I was holding. Luckily I held onto the main piece of the pretzel and I got out of there as quickly as possible.

Another time in Frontierland a gull tried to grab my turkey leg but I fought him off.

I've had some try to confiscate some popcorn from me, but they didn't succeed. At Epcot, my dd and I saw a man lose a hotdog to some seagulls. He cussed for atleast 5 minutes at the birds.

I saw a family who was being attacked by a flock of seagulls last Saturday! They had to shoo them away. They also ran, they ran so far away... :)

I wish I could say that I had a seagull stolel my food........ But now years ago While on then Discovery Island with my sister. We were only there literally 5 minutes when a GIANT ( and to this day I dont know the species) Bird flew over me and my sis and did his business!!!! Only thing was it only hit me!!!! Not her but her first reaction to my dilemma was " OMG is there any on me!!!" I can laugh now but then .........welllllllll

HUGE freakin' seagull grabbed my friend's churro right out of her hand in Frontierland while she was still trying to get the top off her chocolate sauce. then he dropped it and the smaller birds dove at it. The CM at the cart said "oh, that happens all the time" and handed over another churro while the birds weren't paying attention.

I was eating my favorite jerk chicken outside at the CBR when an egret or ibis (?) jumped up onto the table and tried to fly away with it. The birds at CBR are very aggressive.
