So...
Today while cleaning I was watching the WDW travel planning VHS from the year 2000. As I am watching, I see all of the guests running around the parks..and hearing all of the lovely families and their children commenting on the attractions, hotels, etc. So that got me thinking...

Have you or someone you know ever been featured or seen themselves on a WDW Planning Video or DVD? If so...post your stories here!!

LOL, I just watched that one last night, too!

I can't share a great story about being in one of them but I gotta say I really like those old ones better with "real" people instead of the stupid scripted one that's out now with the four "experts". I really hope they go back to the old way. Or at least lose "Luke". I've never seen a more annoying character in my life. My 15 year old son says he's an insult to teen boys everywhere!

In the mean time, I'll just keep watching my old videos...

My DH and I watched the latest one last night, and I thought the same thing about people being in the video. I specially thought about it when they were showing Typhoon Lagoon. I "believe" you can see a man's tushy after the wave hits him. I am not sure if that would be funny :rotfl2: or embrassing  !

I agree with Hunnypots - Luke need to go. The hurl factor red lines!

we were approached by a CM w/headphones, clipboard and big fannypack in the lobby of the DisWonder as we were procrastinating disembarking on our last day. He asked if we would be interested in having DS5 do something along the lines of advertisement...I don't recall his exact words and he wasn't too elaborate at the moment, he was just looking for a yes or no first. Anyhoo, I knew DS5 would say NO, and he said just that when I asked. The CM walked away with an over the shoulder smirk saying something along the lines of "Well, you'll just have to dream of what could have been..." Which of course we have! DS(now8) always says now "The next time someone asks me, I'll say YES!!" Yeah, like that's going to happen... Now I don't want to hear about others that have been in a promo getting free admission or cruises for life!!!

Not family, but neat nonetheless...

I watch the WDW Travel Channel specials over and over again. I finally burned them to DVD recently, because I love watching them.

Last May, I went to WDW with my mom, and outside TOT, I saw a CM who looked really familiar. I turned to my mom and said, "That's the guy from the Travel Channel special! I think he's in one of the videos too!" (Oh, and I also save the videos/dvds - I have one all the way back from 1996!).

So of course my mom goes up to him, and I went too. I was kind of embarrassed that I recognized him, but he told me I made his day. I said, "Yeah, you're the guy who says 'Please, do enjoy your stay!' in that creepy voice!" He loved it. It was a magical moment for me, and I think it was for him, too! I wish I could remember his name. He's really tall and has a moustache. If someone sees him, make sure to mention it!

A while back Samantha Brown was being filmed on the Boardwalk. She was staying in the Y&BC for the show Great Hotels. We didnt know who she was at the time. But when we saw the show we were surprised to see we had made it into a back ground shot, DW,DS and myself sitting at the bakery. Our 1 min of fame! :happytv:

I agree....I think the only 'expert' I like is Dave since he is so lazy and funny!

Yep, Dave is funny! :happytv: He cracks me up, but the others need to take a hike.

No, we've never been in a video.

Is that the one where she's at the Y&B Club? If so, it's on this Thursday (I think it's at 12:30 Eastern time). I'll look for your family! I always tape it and I always cry when she says, "Thank you-I will, I will have a magical day."

Some of the stuff you see is actually paid pieces. They were recently casting here for four kid between 12 and 14. The kids will spend three weeks filming around WDW. They had to be willing to ride all the rides and just have fun while a film crew followed them around. It was for a new WDW planning DVD. For this, the kids would each earn $3000. Not a bad job.

Not WDW but me and my family have been part of the Disneyland Resort Paris special "from one lightbulb to another"

that was real fun... I got to be in the park way after closing time with the film crew, been on a private viewing point, did interview at our home.... loved it...
