Today during work, I'm walking down the street to my car and some guy stops me to ask for directions. The next thing I know, he's asking me out. :confused3 Methinks he didn't really need the directions. :rotfl:

I could never do that. He must be extremely gutsy. So have you ever asked a stranger out or been asked out by a stranger? Not a strange person (I've been asked out by plenty of those! ), but a complete stranger.

yeah, at the mall :confused3 always at the mall. Maybe I need to start going to the mall more often again :rotfl:

All the time, back when I was young and good looking. LOL

Nope no complete strangers here. (that i can think of) :confused3

So what did you say to this stranger????

Yes, a guy just walked up to me as I was leaving the mall and asked for my phone number. Another guy in a bar who barely spoke english (I think he was mexican) asked if he could call me. I turned both down. Why on earth would I give my number to a complete stranger???

I told him I couldn't because I was working. He asked where I work, so I said, "Down the street" and took off. What a creep.

Yep, quite a few years ago (4 or 5?), I stopped at Target on my way home from work (after 8pm, I worked shift work) and went in to get a few essentials (you know, chips, pretzels, soda, lol). I actually only ended up picking up some Slim Jims and went to stand in line. The cashier was taking RIDICULOUSLY long to check everyone out. The guy in line in front of me started talking to me and it made the time go faster. He was cute, pretty nice, articulate, etc. So after he paid, he kinda hung around talking to me while I paid, then walked me out to my car. We stood talking for about 15 more min when he asked if I wanted to go get some coffee. At this point it was getting later (9ish?) and my bedtime was pretty early since I got up really early. I told him I really did have to be going, but I could give him my number and he could call em sometime.

He did, we went out, he helped me move a month later and we ended up dating for a couple of months. On our first "date", he told me that the reason he started talking to me was that he just had to meet the girl who was willing to wait so long to buy some Slim Jims! :rotfl:

:rotfl: At least he didn't try to get your mom to get you to go out with him! I had a complete stranger do this to me and my mom once! He tried to get my mom to convince me to go out with him!

One time it happened in a food court and another time it happened in the gym. I told the food court guy that I was seeing someone and he asked if I knew any other single girls for him!

Actually, I just remembered another.

Even longer ago (8 years?), I was at a stoplight and the guy in the next lane kept looking at me and smiling. Then he waved. I smiled and waved back. Turns out we were both heading into the same shopping center (me to the grocery store, him to shoot pool with some friends). We talked for a few and he asked if he could call me sometime. I gave him my # and told him sure. He called and left a message, but I never called him back. Not sure why though!

No, but one of the cooks in our local pizza place asked me if I was married. When I told him yes, he said "too bad".

It does score me some free garlic bread once in a while though!!!! ;)

Once and I swear he must have been drunk or something. I've never been hit on before as an adult.

Earlier this year I went to a concert with some friends and noticed this guy looking our way a lot that night but he looked like he worked at the venue because he was dressed like the other people who worked there. I thought he either was keeping an eye on my 20 year old friend to make sure she wasn't drinking (none of us were so I wasn't sure where that concern would come from and be that strong) or he was interested in my skinny, pretty friend. Much to my shock after the show when we were waiting outside for someone else to join us this guy started talking to us for the 2nd time that night. Since I'm not much of a person to talk to strangers the 1st time I sort of ignored him (not to be rude but I just don't meet new people well). Outside he kept trying to talk to just me.

Boy was I shocked when I realized he was hitting on me. :earseek: He kept trying to get my number but I wouldn't give it out - this was after he told me he had been checking me out all night. :earseek: Who? Me? I thought he must have a vision problem or something. But it did make me feel good that he was interested.

More than a few times when I was in college. Some guys actually would roam around the library in the evening hours when people were trying to study and actually try to pick up women there. Pretty pathetic, but hilarious at the same time if you ask me. Dining halls were another popular location for them...

But if you go to bars, it's technically the same thing. You go to a drunken frat party in college and you simply forget who exactly you gave your number out to. Leads to some pretty funny conversations the next morning. :rotfl2:

A few years ago, I had a stranger ask me out on behalf of another stranger. I was at a drive-through with the two window setup where you pay at the first one and get your food at the second. When I pulled up to the second window, the guy said, "The guy at window one thinks you're cute." :rotfl: I don't remember what exactly he said after that. I was just trying to get my food and leave. I do appear to be several years younger than I am. I would have been in my early 20's at the time, and these guys appeared to be in high school. Besides, I was just after a burger, not a date. :)

I have random guys ask me out about once a month.....and no I am NOT joking. It has gotten to the point where i try to look as crummy as possible at the grocery store, the gym, the mall........you name it. It would probably be nice if I wasn't married with 4 children ages 6 and under...but alas, I am. The most memorable recent one was while I was in the checkout line at Wal-mart with ALL 4, yes ALL 4 of my children and some really HOT guy behind me started talking to me about long lines, how cute my kids are, are they all mine, etc..... Well after I was rang up he asked if I would like to go out to dinner some time. All that I could think (to myself) was that I was being polite talking to him because he just kept talking to me--I wasn't putting myself out there, Y'know? I told him that I was married (HELLLO could he not see the big rock on my finger?) and he was like too bad.... That is not the only time that I have been hit on with all of my children in tow, either.... Oh and for some reason when I was pregnant I got hit on ALOT more- like once a week....... Maybe my pheremones are like guymagnets LOL :rotfl: Boy, If I could only bottle I could probably make some BIG Bucks. :rolleyes1

Yes, in a flea market. I was engaged - dude, check the left hand before you ask! I don't wear a diamond for nothing!

Well, no..... but once in a cowboy bar a guy told me he wanted to shine my belt buckle! :rotfl:

I haven't been asked out by a complete stranger but have had some interesting encounters. One was several years ago...an Australian guy followed me out of the post office and came up to me as I was getting in my car. He said he just wanted me to know I had the best *** he'd ever seen. I said, Uh, well, thanks. He said, You're welcome, smiled and got in his car. :teeth:

I thought that was pretty common? Or maybe just in some parts of the country? I know it happens to my dd all the time at work (she's a waitress).

maybe it has a lot with how much i'm out in public but I get asked out a lot. And the worse is when they ask me if I'm married and I reply yes, they'll reply with something stupid like 'maybe my wife and your husband can double' or 'i won't tell if you won't'. Like I'm really going to say to a complete stranger 'oh yes, let's do that!'
