floridafam - I don't have any info about the CR, but Bambi has some floor plans for the entire 14 floor, showing the different suite layouts, with some great pics as well!! HTH! (Little tummy rub)

VAgal, k&a&c'smom, johnsonet.....

Thanks for your beautiful posts (words, thoughts, prayers, etc.). Yes, I have investigated cochlear implants. He is not a candidate right now but may be in the next couple years, provided that he maintains some hearing. They are not effective for those who are completely deaf. He will be closely monitored by his audiologist on a very regular basis. DH and I are fortunate to have come from very loving families. DS will never want for lots of love!

DH is at work and I took the kids for a walk in the woods...beautiful Fall colors now and it's 73 degress in Chicago! At least I know DS's eye sight is sharp!!! he was the only one to find THREE deer in the woods. They were just about 30 feet away but were camouflaged by the colored leaves! Just beautiful!

Now, it's hot tea with lemon for me (still fighting that awful virus), and apple juice for the kids! Putting out some homemade chicken noodle soup in the lounge for anyone in need!!! :)

I wonder how our other Lizards are doing today....

Can't wait for more trip reports!!!! Where is our fearless leader, Bambi?

WoodysRU--Prayers and Pixie Dust for you. I know our DD had given us a scare when she kept having ear infection and failing hearing tests, it is scary. My thoughts are with you.
Samnbilly--have a great trip and thanks for the prayers!!

am not ver good at writing trip reports, so this is a short version of our trip.
We arrived at 11:06am, on time and a great flight. We flew Delta, since our DIL works for them. Madyson was so good the entire trip. Anyway, Alana arranged for our limo service and it was great! Jim and I had a town car and Jimmy had a limo for his in-laws and them. Both drivers were at the bottom of the escalator waiting and were very friendly and professional. It was Trio Trans Limo service.
Got to BW at noon and Lorenzo checked us in. I know him from his years at the Disney Institute. He was funny as always and our rooms were ready!! Jim and I had 4229, Jimmy had 4227 and Carri's parents had 4235. Jimmy's room and our room were deluxe and just perfect. The extra room was great with Madyson.
That afternoon we saw Robin and Scott and surprise Jackie was there! It felt so good to see them. I actually began to cry when I hugged Jackie. I knew I was home. They are all so wonderful there and make you feel so relaxed and at home. Disney really should send all their cast to be trained by these people. They know just how to treat all their guests.
I got to my room anmd there was a delicious cookie bouquet from our friend Alice (k&a&c'smom). These are the best tasting cookies around! Madyson loved the Piglet one and just carried it around giving it kisses. It was so cute. The gifts I ordered for everyone were in the rooms. Alana did a great job shopping! She is a great person also.
sfbank I have some material to send you. I will mail it on Monday.

BT I got my package today! You are too much!!!! :hyper: Have sent you a PM.

Can't wait for more trip reports!!!! Where is our fearless leader, Bambi?

 Here I am! Had another show today and I'm  and :faint:

Looks like we need a HUGE, HUGE, HUGE, :grouphug: for all of the lizards....too much pain, guilt, and sorrow for any one to carry! So wonderful that we have each other to "come to at this lounge" and offer our prayers, special thoughts, and the magical LIZARD pixie dust!:wizard:

floridafam...like I told VAgal....the 14th floor is FAB!
Here's a link to my general webshots page....click here.

The CR 14th floorplans and pics should be on the bottom of the 1st home page.
On the second, I've got a "Lizard Lounge" album started.
Please send your WDW pics of any LL meet, so I can "hang them up" in our "lounge".:teeth:

disrailfan....WELCOME to the LIZARD LOUNGE!!!!:wave2:
AKL CL is awesome! Click on the link above to see pictures of the Wanyama safari...I have 2 sets!...and pics of the CL, deluxe room and suite.

Lots of goodies left out on the sideboard, cordials, and of course the expresso machine is still on!:cake: :drinking1

Kerry...

BambiTamby,

Thank you for the room layouts! They explain a lot. I didn't realize there are so few regualar concierge rooms on the 14th floor.

It seems like suites on the 14th floor might have better availability. DH said tonight that he wants to stay at WL for his race so I guess we are back at WL.

I guess I should have jumped at the chance for the 14th floor at a discount when I was offered it a few weeks ago.

Thanks again for the info.

We're back:(

First, much PD to all in need. So much happened in the week I was gone. And welcome to all new lizzies - a great place here!

Our whirlwind 75th birthday celebration for mom and dad was absolutely wonderful. Our 1-night stay at the Poly was nice (1st time there) but it felt kind of congested - tons of guests. Had connecting rooms in Tokelau and the rooms were spacious and well appointed. Quiet, too. Ate at Ohana and while we loved the food, the atmosphere was chaotic. Someone needed to turn down the volume on the mic used by the "cousin" leading the kids' games. Way too loud for us. Watched Wishes from the beach though there was no music piped in where we were. Maybe we were in the wrong spot!

Moved to BCV on Sunday and had 2 two-bedroom villas across the hall from each other - perfect! We loved the villas and had a ton of space. The location can't be beat and we easily did Epcot and MGM from here. Hit MNSSHP Sunday night - kids rode Space Mtn 6 times in a row! Fireworks were spectacular! Loved the
F&W fest - tried a few food items and lots of wine. Kids waited patiently for the Japanese candy lady and all three got a candy sucker - they were beautiful and she was so sweet to them. Illuminations cruise was great and we saw Fantasmic - did the dinner package at Hollywood and Vine. Was actually very good.

Moved to the GF 2 bedroom suite on Thursday morning - ahhh! I have always loved this resort and the suite was fabulous! We were on the 5th floor of Big Pine Key and the bellman told us John Kerry was in our suite 4 nights earlier. My mom got a kick out of saying she slept in John Kerry's bed! The RPC was great and we really enjoyed our two days here. My parents were wowed beyond belief.

Highlights: Mom and Dad get birthday cards and balloons at BCV and GF.
Lunch at Le Cellier with just mom, dad and sister - fabulous meal and they delivered a beautiful plate with birthday greetings and my parents names written in chocolate and a delicous piece of chocolate cake. A total PD moment!
Seeing my mom and dad walk hand-in-hand through Magic Kingdom.
Watching my dad participate in the flag retreat on Main Street our last day. Tears all around!

Sorry this is so long - I might do trip report once I get out from under the piles. Just wanted to check in with my lizard friends and thank you for helping make this such a special and magical trip!

 Hi everyone! I made it back from Vegas safe and sound. It was quite an eventful trip--I sprained my ankle pretty badly so I was out of commission for two days of the trade show. My boss was very rude to me (not the first time this has happened, long story, so I'll be looking for a new job while I stay at my current one), but I am back home and exhausted, LOL. Vegas just isn't Disney! :teeth: I will say one thing about Vegas. I highly advise not staying at the Bellagio. When I hurt my ankle three different employees were rude to me, suggesting that I just walk to get a cab instead of providing a wheelchair to take me to the taxi stand (hello! I can't walk on it!). I made a mental note to tell my fellow Lounge Lizards about that bad service. Ha! I got them! :teeth:

sfbank, my prayers are with you as you await your test results. I'm sure it must've been a frightening experience, and I pray the doctors will be able to help you recover completely and not have any more seizures.

samnbilly, I am so sorry to hear about your friend. She and you are in my prayers. I hope you are having a good time at the World despite your sadness.

Debbie, my prayers are with Chuckie, Lindsey's family, and your DD. What a terrible tragedy. :(

Hope everyone is hanging in there this Sunday morning:wave2: After a radiant day yesterday, it is now chilly and gray with scattered rain here this morning.
I even suggested that DD and my niece watch "The Santa Clause 2" with me to get into the Christmas spirit:teeth: They were shocked, as I usually try and re-direct them when they ask to watch TV/Movie::yes:: We're getting ready to sit down to it with some mugs of hot chocolate:drinking1
Hope you're all enjoying a similarly lazy Sunday;)

PD, Prayers & Hugs to everybody in need.

Johnsonet: What a great idea, I think I'll try the same thing with my girls. I just love Christmas Season and can't wait to experience it at the WL.

I still can't believe how fast this thread moves but I'm doing my best to keep up. Thanks to everybody for all the yummy goodies to savor while passing through the lounge. I would whip up something special but my husband & children would faint on the spot since I don't cook (Yes, I'm the Takeout Queen!), so I'll pick something up from the bakery next time for everybody!

ETA: WOW! I didn't realize I was under the 50 day mark until I saw my post...I'm so excited now!!!!!!!!!!

Chilly and gray here today, but that's to be expected in New England. The trees are all so beautiful, but with the wind yesterday, a lot of leaves are starting to come down. I hosted a Halloween party last night for DS14 and a little over a dozen of his closest friends. They are terrific kids and everyone seemed to have a great time. I'm tempted to pull out the Christmas videos after seeing the previous posts, but I think we'll compromise and watch Nightmare Before Christmas instead. I'm sure DD8 and I will be looking forward to snuggling on the couch with some hot apple cider this afternoon. She has a 3pm pop warner football game today that she'll be cheering for. I am not looking forward to those cold metal bleachers today.

KerryCM, I have Trio Trans Limo set up for our transportation over to the Yacht Club. You mentioned that they met you at the bottom of the escalator at baggage claim. Were they holding a sign with your families name on it? This is another one of my surprises and I was just wondering how that worked.

Minniesota, I replied to your post over on the GF thread. I'd love to hear if Sis and Bil are now Lounge Lizards converts. So glad that you had such a nice time.

Tammi

It's been a long, long week! I haven't been able to be online for more than a week....aligators nippin' at my tushy all week (at work)...I'm an accountant btw...not one, not two but THREE new clients in the last ten days who haven't filed their returns since 1997! What is up with that? IRS agents showing up at their homes...filing deadlines of 10/26, 10/28 and 10/29....my head is spinning!

I know I've missed a lot of posts....so do I go back and read or just start fresh?

I did read that GoofyJoofy has had to cancel....sorry to hear that...should I be sorry or was there an alternative plan already at play?

It's absolutely freezing here today....snow last night...the mountains are covered...we don't have much but just the thought of winter, so close at hand, bah!!!!!!! Come on Nov 19th...Susan needs a vacation!!!

Well I have been lurking on this thread for a long time and I finally make the plunge! I changed my BC standard rooms for next June into CL. I am now worried but excited too. My three kids are almost grown and this will probably be the last big trip for awhile just the five of us. My daughter graduates from college in May and I have a son in college and in high school. I wanted to make this trip really special!! Also my DH is not really a Disney lover so I really want to convert him!! I booked two rooms because I thought 10 nights with one bathroom would be too much!

I didn't make any room requests though, I was too flustered when I booked at rack rate! Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Thanks a lot, this is a great thread!

Linda

Hi Linda....nice to meet you! You'll love the BCCL...really! My favorite property...

Our kids are also older and they love staying on the conceirge floor. We offered our sons (both college jr's) their own room in a less expensive resort...thinking that two college jrs would want to be able to come and go without us knowing...NO WAY! Why should they be without the lounge? I'm telling you there is something wrong with this picture!! *L*

Tammi yes, they had a sign with our name on it. It was kind of funny because there were 2 drivers next to each other , one with my name and one with my son's name. We have an unusual last name so I am sure it looked strange to some people. You will be thrilled with them. I liked the fact that it was already charged to my Visa and the driver told us if we tipped them they had to let the office know so that amount was deducted from our bill. Jimmy and my husband both tipped cash and sure enough it is only the car charge on the bill. I also thought they were very reasonable and the cars were new and spotless.

GoofySuse, I know what you mean. I thought of that too but the kids want to be in the lounge too. Not to mention SAB!!
I just need to save......... lots of money!!!!!:)

I thought I knew all of my abbreviations & acronyms, but...what is SAB?

ETA: Wait...I think its Stormalong Bay??

KerryCM --Thanks man--you are awesome!

Minniesota --Glad you had a great trip. We had a flag dedication pole for my grandpa at the annual motorcycle rally that he helped get started in my hometown. Tears all around there too so I know how you feel!!

Ead79 --Sorry your boss is such a jerk!! Good luck finding something esle. It is not your fault you got hurt!! Thanks for the thoughts.

Ead79: What a shame about your ankle, and worse, about your wretched boss! I like the confidence in your "voice" when you talk about finding something else! You GO!

Goofysuze, there was a misunderstanding about GoofyJoofy - THEY ARE NOT CANCELLING!! He was posting an availability for WL CL for someone else who cancelled, and some of us misread it and jumped in with condolences....nice to see you here again! What is UP with those new clients? Who has that kind of nerve? Not me!! I got a mini-audit on my charitable deductions this year and nearly had a stroke, even though I had all my documentation!! (As an aside, I'm sure you're ready to abandon mountain and snow for the sunny flatlands, but writing from dreary flatlands right now, I have to say, I read about your snow-covered mountains and said, "oooooh!" PRETTY! I have to wait for the main page to reload to find out which mountains are yours, because I don't recall from where you hail....)

Minniesota: I'm so glad you had a great trip! I was happy to read about your experience with the Candy Lady, and of course, your dad's special experience as well!

Tammy, I've never seen Nightmare Before Christmas. We're pretty conservative with our video options for the kids. At 3 and 6, am I likely to consider it appropriate for them? I don't know much about it...

I have a bit of NEWS! Not ONLY does it look like I'm going to have a getaway to Disney with my mother and the girls in May (DH is not thrilled and isn't convinced we'll have any money or plastic available after this trip) -- Mom's first trip EVER! No, now there's MORE!! DH and I are starting to talk about going for Nights of Joy next year --- SHHHH, don't tell them ---

without the kids!!!!!!! :earseek: :faint:

He was talking about getting away to a tropical island together, and I said that wasn't likely to happen, but I'd be willing to do a long weekend getaway next year to NoJ....his eyes bugged out and he said, "You would????" (I do NOT leave my kids, except for work. Went on an overnight women's retreat in September, first overnight away from my kids except for work in over six years). But by then they'll be seven and four, and I think we could do a long weekend....

He said, "Would you want to go to Disney World three times in one year???"

Duh.

So I think we might do it! And for our very first getaway together since kids....I think it warrants CONCIERGE, right????:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

WL is his dream resort...I'll pay careful attention, after we get back from this trip and have had a peek, to see if their CL IPO gets its act together, and then try to get it!!

Happy, happy, :cloud9:

Kris

Storybookmum Congratulations on your "ladies" trip in May!:Pinkbounc :bounce: Might you wish to join your fellow Lounge Lizards for the meet in May at BWI? Just a thought to keep in mind!

Debbie Big Prayers and Pixie Dust for you, your friends, and your entire town for this tragic event. :grouphug: I know this is hard but you all will get thru this.

Without getting on my soapbox (well maybe a little), I hope that all who have kids and relatives who want to get (or already own) ATV's, motorbikes/cycles, mopeds, etc. will take heed from the tragic events in Debbie's town. There is a good reason why speed limits are law and not simply "advisable. There are even better reasons why 2-wheeled conveyances are called "donorcycles" by paramedics and EMTs - if you make a mistake, you lose something - an appendage or worse. Perhaps, someone may learn from this tragedy. As a volunteer EMT I have seen far too many accidents and just want my fellow LLs and their friends and family to be safe.:thewave:
