I wrote out a long letter which I give Alice permission to share if anyone wants more information. I just wanted to stop in and say how much I appreciate all of the P and PD coming from this room and from the sorority sisters. It really means a lot to me, and to my daughter who I have shared many of the letters and posts with. She has shared much of it with Chuckie who is still in the hospital. He will recover, but mentally I don't think he'll be the same. What a tragic way to learn a lesson. My heart just goes out to Lindsey's family and their great sudden loss. No one should ever have to bury a child.

I will be gone this weekend on a planned hockey tournament with my son's team. I tried to convince DD to go with us, but she wants to be at the funeral this Saturday. She'll be here with her best friend and she'll have constant communication with us as we're a "three-cell" family.

Thank again, everyone. I can feel the prayers flowing up here!
Debbie

Debbie, My heart goes out to your DD, her friend and the families connected to this tragedy. So, so sad when things like this happen and it's hard for anyone connect to this to imagine getting past it. For DD and her friend, it takes lots of prayer and faith and leaning on those that you love and love you.

Well, I made it through most of the night. It didn't matter because they had me open and close my eyes so much during the test, I would have never been able to sleep. Not to mention the lovely tune of someone blowing their nose and coughing up flem while they were wanting me to relax!!! The test was interesting especially since it took the girl about 20 min to figure out how to put the device on my head!! Oh well! Just waiting for the results but wanted to thank everyone for the good thoughts!:)

Prayers & Pixie dust to all in need.

So Hightown....how did you get that CRUISE!!!!

:hyper:

VAGal...We need to start tracking who is going at the same time this summer. I am planning on going 7/21-7/30. Will be spending most of my time at CR (although I have not made any ressies yet), but we can all plan to meet somewhere for dinner or something. If we have enough people, we can register as a grand gathering and do something special through that. I am looking at doing a few days at end of the trip at AKL (for the sunrise safari), but again haven't made any ressies.

Have a good weekend everyone!

 - Don't you just love it! Please, sleep for this test...yack, yack, yack! The head gear used to make you look like ET. Like I needed to phone home or something. It wasn't exactly comfortable either. None the less, YOU MADE IT! Now go get some "real" rest so chat with us later. Hopefully you'll get those results pretty quickly - with good news (fingers are crossed).

Debbie - You have yourself one bonded family and have raised a very strong daughter. It's terrible that you have to see your strength in times of weakness. You guys are still in my thoughts. Travel safe this weekend and though it's been a tough week I hope your team does well in the tournament.

And I said I was going to work, work, work -

Cajunfan - We posted at the same time! Yes, I'm going to be at AKL/CR that same week, but we are going to AKL first for Sat. sunrise safari then switching to CR on the 26-30. Yes, guys, I was keeping it under wraps, but it looks like VAgal is forgoing the GF plans and getting a better view at the CR. 2 bdrm at CR with a MK view I just couldn't pass it up. Since I have my entire "crew" with me I'll mostly be able to do a meet mid-day since our evenings are pretty busy with dinner with families, activities, etc. I'm sure IPO could help us arrange a nice early afternoon tea party or something along those lines for us. I think k&a&c'smom is also going to be there at the same time also! Who else's arm can we twist? :magnify:

Lynne, got the cruise from playing Who Wants to be a Millionaire at the Studios! Got in the 'hot seat', answered all 15 questions! Won all the prizes including the 3 night Wonder Cruise for 4 incl airfare! Am in shock still. Planning the cruise will be a whole new adventure!

Sharon

Hey Sharon!

Congrats on the cruise!!! Sorry I missed you at MNSSHP...how was it for you guys? It was much more crowded that I expected, and unfortunetly, we didn't get to meet ANY DISers! :(

Have a great weekend everyone!!!:wave2:

Sharon, that is SO exciting!! I'm really intrigued. Is it a total freebie, no strings attached? WOW!!! That is so cool.

Congratulations! Way to go! I'd be very interested in playing myself, but I bet I'd be slow at the fastest fingers part!

Kris

Queenie and Kris, thanks for the contrats!

Queenie, sorry didn't find you. We had about 9 at our Meet counting friends/family. Nice little chat and ride. It was crowded! No real long ride lines but just a lot of people!

Kris, if you haven't seen the show at Studios yet, you have to go! the whole audience plays along with whoever is in the hot seat. Then if that person misses, the next fastest goes down and that was me. I never get the initial fastest finger right!

The only string is that the value is taxable along with the other prizes--pins, jacket, hat, shirt. Well, also there are many blackout dates ie all summer, holidays, spring break, etc. It will be a challenge finding a time. And you have to go within a year of the win.

DW and I are staying for 5 days / 4 nights concierge at the Animal Kingdom Lodge starting Monday October 25.

We really can't wait and I am taking her on both the Sunset and Sunrise Safaris while weare there. She Loves wine so hopefully she will love the dinner and wine pairing that comes as a part of the sunset safari.

I have not read the whole thread yet but I will be also posting our trip report over in the trip report boards while we are there.

Doing the Single Digit Dance!!!

Hi, again, Sharon!

It really sounds like a blast. It wasn't there when we were there in 2001, but it is definitely on our Must-Do list for this trip. Although it's been a good while since we watched it, we really like the real show. I like the modified "phone a friend," at Disney....I'd love to be the stranger wandering through the park and handed a phone! In fact, if I can, I'll linger just at the right area!

I know we're also SUPER excited about seeing Mike and Sully, Jessie and Woody and Buzz, and the Green Army Men. MGM used to be my least favourite of the parks, but there are a lot of new and appealing things that weren't there last time. I don't think they even had the Stars and Cars then, or if they did, we missed it. I'm going to try very hard this trip to ensure that we see the parades at all the parks. I understand that the Jungle Jammin' Parade will be a Jingle Jungle Parade while we're there, which sounds like fun!

I'm getting so excited. One month today and we're there in Fort Myers, and then we'll have a nice relaxing week, I hope, before heading off to the magic and mayhem!

Love,

Kris

disrailfan You are going to LOVE AKL CL!! From all I've read, your wife will LOVE the Sunset Safari!

AKL Concierge is a real treat! Can't wait to read your trip report::yes:: Enjoy!

Just stopping by-on my way soon to the mouses house. I am a little stressed right now-too much to do-I feel like I'm forgetting everything.
sfbank-glad your test went okay. I was praying for you today. My dear friend had a few setbacks, but hopefully only positive things from now on.
Leaving out some evening snacks and cordials to go with my xanax that I need to fly;)
Be back in 10 days!

I've been MIA the last few days due to the continued viruses that we are passing back and forth to each other in our house!

As many of you know, my DS (3) was diagnosed with a hearing loss this summer. We had lots of testing done a while back and got the results this week. The really sad news is that they think this will be a progressive hearing loss. This ordeal has made DH very sensitive. He keeps telling DS "I love you" because he said there may be a day when he can't hear that from us anymore. As a parent, it makes you just want to curl up and cry with worry. You just don't want to think about rough times ahead for your children. If this indeed progresses, it will make much more of a challenge for DS. Thanks for letting me vent.....

Debbie... What tragic news. How heartbreaking. I don't know what else to say. I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

samnbilly.... Glad to hear your friend is making strides. P and PD for you and her as well. Please try and have a nice vacation. We'll all be thinking of you!

steffy.... Here's lots of pixie dust for you and your ankle!!! I hope you're good as new really soon! Not long and you'll be at WDW!!! I KNOW how long you've been waiting for this!

sfbank... Praying for good test results for you!!!

I hope I didn't leave anyone out for the P and PD....If I did, please know that all of you are continually in my thoughts...

BTW, lindseypol.... Thanks for the CR report. Your family is adorable!!!!! storybookmom.... your hair color story cracked me up! :teeth:

Bye for now!!!! Leaving out some carrot cake tonight!!! (baby's craving some)! ;)

WoodysRU - So sorry about your little guy - and I know how hard it is to think about your children facing difficulties. I've been racking my brain to think of the name of the new treatment for hearing loss. I heard about it during my long drive home from work one Sun. morning, on the local radio station's Public Service. They said it was particularly successful in young children, who can still learn speech. Oh, I think it's the cochlear implant. You've probably researched this already, but just in case you haven't.

I don't know how to copy the email Debbie sent me, but the gist of it is that Chuckie was going about 80 mph and started to pass another bike when his bike got stuck in between gears and he couldn't slow down. Made it through the first curve and before he could make the second curve they saw an approaching car. He was thrown into a tree, while Lindsey was thrown onto her head and neck, killing her instantly. No alcohol or drugs were involved, but they are probably going to charge him with manslaughter. Natalie says this "last ride of the season" is a tradition, and she would have normally been with Chuckie if they hadn't recently broken up. Very sad, tragic, and so hard for them to come to grips with, I'm sure, on the one hand being so very sorry for this girl's family (and Chuckie) and on the other being glad Natalie wasn't with him. Such a terrible, terrible waste.

samnbilly - Have a great time, I'm so glad to hear your friend is making small steps towards recovery. That's wonderful news, and will make your heart much lighter, I'm sure! Have a fantastic time with the Mouse!!!

k&a&c'smom - The story on Chuckie just makes my heart sink. It must be so difficult for Debbie's daughter to absorb all of this. Just makes you feel like wrapping arms around your own children and never letting go.

Woodysrup - I'm so terribly sorry for your news. I am a believer that God does things for a reason and we just can't see the significance of our circumstances at the time it's happening. I'll continue to pray for your DS as well as your family's recovery from all the viruses that are being passed around.

Hightown - How cool is that to win a Disney Cruise. Way to go! I totally missed it the first go around. That had to be an awesome feeling....still is, isn't it?! :teeth:

Disrailfan - Welcome to the lounge! AKL CL ROCKS! Our family absolutely loved it. Wow, you're even doing both sunrise and sunset safari. I haven't done sunrise, but sunset was VERY nice. I must admit, the CL there has a homey feeling and the CM's make you feel comfortable and special at the same time. That's what keeps lizards like us returning time after time. We do look forward to hearing your trip report when you come back. If you have pre-arrival questions, please feel free to ask away.

Samnbilly - Have a terrific time & say Hi to Mickey & Minnie for me!!!!! :wave2:

Calling all Cont. Resort CL experts.

I am going to book a room for the Florida Half Ironman on May 22.

We will have a 1 month old at the time and our two other children.

DH likes things really quiet the night before a race so I am thinking about booking a suite.

What types of suites are available on the 14th floor?

Will we be able to take boat transportation directly from the CR to FW?

Thanks!!:D

Sharon--Congrats!! How awesome is that??!! Hope everyone is doing well and having a great weekend! Still waiting patiently for KerryCM to report!! (HINT HINT) No news on my test results yet--should be Monday. Guess I get to be Chauferred at least one more day HA!

WoodysRU I feel for you. I'm sorry for the sad news. Modern medicine is amazing and I will hope for some sort of relief for your son and your entire family. Your posts show what a loving family your precious little one has, so in that there is great comfort. I know firsthand the heartbreak involved in having a child who is "different", however slightly. I hope you have the loving support and incredible good fortune my family has had...A Big Dipper of PD for you:wave:
