Have others seen this in WS

Passing on a story and looking for others experience with this type of thing....by the way I am.by no means, not without faults but I would like to know if this is widespread.

My wife and I were recently at the China pavilion in WS and were looking forward to watching the movie as it is one of our favorites. I think I like the movie because it seems to have a more imaginative, storyline quality rather than the static picture shows that are shown at France and Canada. I enjoy these films as well, but like China's more.

As we filed into the theater, a family followed us into the row. Dad, Mom and two sons (aprox age 8 and 6). If you have not seen the China film, it involves a narrative tour of the vast and varied countryside hosted by an actor who portrays the spirt of one of China's ancient poets. The actor is dressed in traditional dress, I assume this is the mode of dress popular during the life of the dead poet. The costume includes a long mustache and beard, something I would term as a "stereotypical" appearance familiar in american comic book and cartoon protrayals of chinese. Anywho, as the film began and the actor began to narrate, the father of the previously mentioned family began to mock the actor's accent and make racial jokes to his wife and young children.

If WS's purpose is to provide an educational and culturally enlightening experience for it's guests then why do those that do not enjoy the experience of the presenting country participate in their presentation? Is it just to check a box in their touring plan? I'm sorry if this sounds holier-than thou. I was just wondering if others have seen expamples of this type of behavior.

My humble opinion only,
ceburto2;)

I haven't seen anything like this, and I'm glad. I simply think some people just don't have the sense to know better. Its examples like this that illustrate how bad taste can be passed from parent to child.

I am sorry to say you can see that everywhere, so WD and WDW are really no different. Just sad that adults would do that and pass such a horrible thing down to their children. Sometimes you just have to wonder if we have made big enough steps in the right directions :(

I haven't seen or heard that anywhere in WDW, but that is a shame. :(

Haaven't experience anything likek you mentioned but it is sad to experience such a thing....

How pathetic. This person is probably not bright enough to get anything out of the film, and has to make jokes to entertain himself. I would forgive this if it were teen boys on a group trip, but in front of your kids?

NO....thankfully...I have not seen that.....I would not be at all amused by it either...sad poor people only would express this type of behavior...:(

 Just makes me mad to hear such things. I think that guy should just crawl back to the hole from whence he came! Idiot.

What an insensitive bigot. Really setting an example for his kids. :(

This family was most likely looking for airconditioning and not a culturally enlightening experience. Lots of people just don't "get" World Showcase.:(
