Do I understand correctly that you may punch out whatever you want on the machines (or cutters)? I could probably spend a whole afternoon just doing that! I don't think I'd have any other way to get all of those cut-outs for my scrapping without spending a lot of money otherwise, and I think the event might help me get a jump start.
Sweet Maxine...you are correct. You can stand at the one of the ellison machines the whole crop if you like. Your arm may get a good workout, LOL, but you can make diecuts to your heart's content!
The first year I attended, my friend and I made the mistake of waiting until Sunday morning to make our diecuts. The diecut area was packed. My friend worked the machine while I ran back and forth picking out the dies from the boxes.
The second year, due to the absence of so many because of the hurricane, I never really noticed people waiting to use a machine.
Nancy and Dale supply hundreds of dies and @ 6 machines. They also have every hand held punch you can think of using. There are also various other tools like a couple of the big paper cutters, fiskar circle cutters and light boxes for embossing.
I'd recommend to anyone interested in attending one of the SDV's to also start reading their messge board. The people that post can give you opinions and suggestions to help make your descisions.
We have heard that CKU is an awesome event. We thought about attending, but thought we would like to spend less dollars and be able to crop for the 4 days and only attend specific classes that interest us. Also, with SDV, you are not on a schedule except for those classes you choose and meals that they provide, so you can come and go as you please.
