Haunted Rides At Wdw???

I too looked into this thread because I'm interested in ghost stories. However, I learned something new about Disney. Thanks for the article about the accident at America Sings! To be honest, I had never even heard of America Sings (I was too young to ever see it.) I learn so many interesting things on this board. Thanks! :teeth:

Thanks so much for that article. Although it made me cry, I'm glad I got to put a face to that beautiful young lady.

Godspeed to her and her family.

I don't know if there were any deaths at DL while Walt was around, but with the way he felt about young people, something like this would have affected him deeply, I would think. :rose:

if you rely on faith and personal experience I guarantee that the truth in regard these matters will continue to "remain that way" for you...Fortunately TRUTH transcends your and my preferences, your and my personal experience and your and my faith...the TRUTH is truth. Facts are facts...Reality is.

when someone claims, "if the CM's don't say goodnight or something like that at the close of the ride, the ride will malfunction" this is a real world -testable cause and effect claim...it is either true or false...that means it most certainly can be proven regardless if this reality does not comform to someone's needs, desires, hopes or wishes.

If the CM does not say "say goodnight or something like that at the close of the ride" and the ride does NOT malfunction any differently than any other day then this statement is proven FALSE. If everytime they do not "say goodnight or something like that at the close of the ride" it does indeed malfunction MORE than the usual on the days that they do "say goodnight or something like that at the close of the ride" then it is proven true. Ideally the people determining whether or not the ride is malfunctioning more or less will be BLINDED as to whether the appropriate good night was given or not...that is the best way to get to the truth and reduce the biases of those that prefer the answer come out a particular way-one way or the other.

I value truth-- and there are ways to come to know it...it is our best hope of understanding and acting appropriately in this very real world in which we live. Perpetuating Falsehoods like this - or claiming they are not even testable--is at best a waste of time and potentially far more harmful in the ramifications it has on how people conduct themselves in the REAL TRUE WORLD --the world that actually can pass the truth test. :3dglasses

It is the 21st not the 12th century...we have a way to understand these things...lets use it...

I bet you don't believe in Santa Claus.

...and Disney is no exception. There are two fairly commonly told stories about "hauntings". The first revolves around the Monorail. According to the Monorail cast, Monorail Purple is haunted. Strange things happen, usually minor malfunctions that have no real explanation. However, I've never heard anything specific. I do know that one of the monorail trains was actually driven off the end of the beam at the roundhouse right after it had been delivered. Significant damage was done, and specialized equipment had to be hauled in to get the train back on the beam. I think it was Purple that fell off, and that could explain why it is believed to be haunted.

Also, one of the Disney buses is purported to be the scene of at least a dozen ghostly visits. Bus number 4750 has been reported to have a young woman sitting in the rearmost seat. She only appears on rainy nights, and is seen by the driver in the interior rear view mirror. When the driver turns around, she's gone.

Ghost stories pop up in every town, in every neighborhood. They're mostly fun just to share.

Many times, we have seen workers roaming around in that ride. On our last trip, we saw 2 guys with tool belts on one of the higher balconies pointing down to something on the ride.

PS: they are actually supposed to stay out of sight, but that does not always work.

...maybe one of them was George! (LOL) :earseek:
