I just read on a thread that "I can't stand them changing haunted mansion one bit" What is this about? Me and my fianc'e are going for our first tiem and ever since I heard about Disney WOrld and learned of the Haunted Mansion, I vowed that some day I would be on it and the time is finally drawing near. Is this true and if so what are they changing and if so why?::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

If the Haunted Mansion movie that came out last Thanksgiving was a sucess, they would have replaced the current face and voice of Madame Leota, the creepy head in the crystal ball with Jennier Tilly's voice and face. The movie wasn't very sucessful though so it seems for the forseeable future the Mansion is safe.

Changes in some of the older rides usually have to do with technology upgrades, rather than storyline upgrades. In the Haunted mansion, for example, the projectors responsible for the singing busts in the graveyard were changed from film to digital a few years ago.

The biggest improvement to be made at the HM might be to use quieter hydraulic technology for moving objects so you don't hear all of the mechanical noise. The same is true for PotC. I've also thought a non-omnmover Doom Buggy would fix some of the problems with loading and unloading but some people might not agree.

The change might be about the HM adding Jack Skelington from a Nightmare Before X-mas. They have done this in CA but I'm not sure if it is just during the fall/X-mas season. They were suppose to have made the changes already but they wanted to wait till after the movie(HM movie) came out. They thought the movie might draw people to go and want to see the ride. Supposedly they are going to change it this Oct. with elements from the Nightmare Before X-Mas. I got this info from a few different CM's on my trip in Nov. I actually hope it's true, we all love that movie and Jack, the pumpkin king!!!

They have been talking about this... but I think it is being held off until 2005. Anyway, if they do change it to Nightmare Before Christams it is only for Oct, Nov. and Dec (A holiday addition) and it is AWESOME. I used to work at HM in MK at WDW and was not looking forward at all to seeing the NIghtmare Before Christmas at DL (hubby was though). I ended up beign AMAZED by the entire thing, it was VERY awesome and I would love to see it at WDW.

Othe than that the only other "change" that has been talked about is the Leota Ball as another poster already pointed out. I would not worry about it. The Mansion is Awesome and even if they do the Nightmare Before Christmas Holiday addition it too is really neat.
