Haunted Mansion 50th Anniversary event

You know, there's no requirement to stay at the GCH.
Excuse me, but why are you directing your sarcastic, obvious comment to me? Your question must be rhetorical, or do you actually expect a reply? You know I will give one anyway. Yes. I'm very well aware of other options. But thank you for pointing out the obvious all the same.
There's no good reason for Disney to charge ridiculous rates for onsite accommodations. And yes, that's my opinion. Thank you

Lol, theres no need to both reply to me here AND send a rude private message. Maybe don’t take things on a message board quite so personally.

As to your message, I’ve never stayed at the GCH. A bit too expensive for me. :thumbsup2

It wasn't rude. I had apologized if I had offended you. Why do you bother to once again be rude to me here? You could have replied to my private message. Thank you

You must have forgotten the other part of the message you sent.

I wasn’t rude before, simply pointing out that there are other options than the GCH. :)

Oh I'm sorry. I thought you were one of the rich Californians, that's why I said that. But let's just discuss everything here. Forget about PMs.

I'm waiting on a different HM 50th event details. That one should be EPIC.

Is it the event, I believe in Fullerton? Are tickets still available? Thank you
Nope, this is North West of there. Tickets haven't started yet, and I don't have any details beyond what I heard through the grapevine. It sounds AMAZING though.

Keep me in the loop, please. I have been unable to go to anything else due to other obligations.

Just an FYI regarding the RSP - you can change your RSP requests until the window closes, even after you submit it. ;)

My biggest concern about this event, is the time frame of 3 hours. It just doesn't seem like enough time to really properly experience the event to it's fullest offerings.

I was watching a vlog from villains after hours and it seems there was more planned for that.

It looks like there will be roughly the same number of people at the party as any single group into SWGE. So the line for a ride on Haunted Mansion will run an hour? How many things will be full in the first few minutes?

If they put the hatbox ghost or so many other characters out, the line would be insane. I just hope they have plans to really plus this out. For what we're paying for it, they better. Revenue from ticket sales will be well over a million dollars. How much of that are they planning to spend on the party?

Hoping that the time at the Disneyland Hotel is more than just a merch pick up and buy opportunity. It would be awesome if they had old props, etc that we could see up close?

Hoping they use the Rivers of America for a mini show that welcomes us. madame Leota on the water screens?

The spirits come out after the park closes and they show up on the other rides? The hitchhiking ghosts on Big Thunder? A bunch of little things could make it totally worth it.

Well said. And agree. I so hope the lines are not long at all. Honestly, only 3 hours just makes me nervous and apprehensive.

I keep wondering if they even have a plan yet. It seems kind of thrown together and does appear to emphasize selling merchandise over providing a really cool experience, but then it's very hard to tell when so little information has been given. I personally don't even care about the merchandise other than the event pin. I was hoping for something special that I couldn't otherwise see or do, and I hope that's not just waiting in long lines for regular rides and characters. But I keep telling myself that it's Disney and surely they wouldn't sell a $300 ticket to a 3-hour upsell event without giving us something to make us feel it was worth it!

Starting to feel the same way, DizMe. We hope we will be pleasantly surprised. We are not into merch or selfie opportunities.

Let's start a list of attendees. Just let me know which night you are going and I'll start to make and list. I'll update it as needed.

We are going on Thursday.

My BF and I are going to the Wednesday/Thursday event. (starts at midnight Thursday morning)

We have tickets Thursday / Friday.

Our plane lands at LAX at 230. Then the bus from the airport. I did get a nonstop from Portland.
