last week 2 of my 3 comps get hacked...yes hacked :scared1: :scared1:

My boys dL a gaming hack that had a trojan attached to it and WHAM!! one of the hackers got pissed because my son removed him from his friendship list after he came on tere with foul language at me "Telling the hacker,,,(that we did not know was a hacker) that he was deleting him because no one talks to his mom like that...the hacker did not believe I was mom :confused3 he killed my comp.

The other hacker was nice to first plant a shwastica(sp) with about 100 FU on it and adding gay porn than took controll of my computer...I chatted playing nice with him through my notepad and got him to back off and he did not kill my comp. He was only 17 years old...creep!!!!

I called my comp fixer upper guys and they cleaned both up and gave then my 3rd just incase. $300 later we are up and working.

My comp guys are remarkable...one has been blind since birth and has a masters in engineering (he can fix the comp by listening to the pings that the programs have that we dont easily hear or pay attention to....his partner is paralyzed from waist down and crawls up my steps.

The blind guy is what is called a white hacker....he is paid by many to battle the black hackers....good against evil.

Anyway being hacked is something I get soooo pissed off like dont these creeps have anything better to do:confused3

Has this ever happened to you?????? and have your accounts ever been hacked...like bank or charge cards from a hacker????

no, never happened to me, thank goodness! Glad you got it all sorted out. Don't people have anything better to do with their time?? Geez!

Yep!!! First they made my CD drive open and close, over and over. Then they locked all the vowels on my keyboard. Lastly, a porn pic was on my monitor. Luckily, on of my DD's friends corrected everything from his computer.

Until this happened, I never realized someone could do this to my computer.

You would be surprised what a knowledgable hacker can do to your system. I've downloaded 5 different free anti-malware programs and run then regularly. A good antivirus program and firewall are also a must.

Everyone really should invest in a personal firewall, antivirus & anti-malware software. If you're on a wireless network at home, you also should secure it at the highest encryption level your router offers. If you don't know how to do this, your router should have instructions or a help web site. It takes about 5-10 minutes. Sitting here right now I can see two of my neighbors' unsecured wireless networks because they never bothered to secure them. I could log onto them right now if I wanted.

I'm an IT professional and learned my lesson a couple of years ago when I had to get a hard drive replaced. When the comp came back, it was like new, so only had the OEM software (comes standard on the computer) on it. DS had a project due the next day, so rather than take the time to re-install our antivirus/anti-malware software & firewall, we just went ahead and started searching for photographs of New York City. In less than 1/2 hour we had a trojan horse on the computer and I had to completely roll the system back.

They were using my computer as a bounce to send Spam from the Un.Of Md.

I was doing something and all the sudden noticed a Guest user with just a few numbers.

Not sure what they were really doind as the IT guy from U0M tld me they were using them late at night.

I always keep my computers turned off at night so I guess they were just doing setups.

I had all Norton had to offer at the time but they still got in. I now run a few different programs and really watch what DD downloads on here 2 computers. My Wireless does have Wep set up but again there are 2 or 3 others on my block that just let the entire world in.I have to remind DD not to log into them (Vista keeps switching) as anyone could be in there and doing anything.

It is very important to take steps to protect your computer. I was listening to a computer show once and someone made the comment as what's the worse that could happen if someone hacks you.

The answer was interesting... If someone gets into your computer and threatens the President of the United States or loads child porn onto your computer, the law won't be knocking the hackers door, they will be knocking on your door.

That is so true!!!!

My response"
I have been getting on one of my neighbors routers when mine would not work. The comp guys said that alot of hackers drive around neighborhoods looking for open routers/unsecured and use a program that allows them to enter that comp and get there private info. I also did not have a secured router but do know:thumbsup2

I am going to take my laptop around my neighbor hood to see when the signal gets strong and find the house and tell them that I have been able to get on my laptop through there router that they need to secure it. Will do that today.

DO NOT DO THIS.

Beyond the fact that it is actually illegal, how in the world do you propose to word this so they don't think you're a hacker?

I've never been hacked, but I've been asked many times to hack open accounts for people (I have a gift with passwords. I can figure out non-encrypted pass words like 75% of the time). I've opened friends accounts for them when they forget their passwords and stuff like that. I've done this without permission.

I've also accidentally hacked. My internet went down, and my computer signed on to the next closest open network. Took me two days to figure out that I wasn't on my own network. People really should password protect those.

Thsi will be okay for me to do. Have lived up on this mountain for 18 years and know all my neighbors so it will be someone that I know:thumbsup2 Like me they may not realize the consiquenses of not having a secure sight so not worried. I am sitting here outside in my cabbana near me pool and can pick up 3 other unsecured sights. Would for sure want someone to tell me that I was leaving my comp open to certain dangers.

If I did not live up here and have such great neighbors than no way would I venture out:sad2: that could come back and bite me in the butt!!!!

I am thinking of taking a comp class to make myself more wiser. I am not illiterate when it comes to using the comp but am when it comes to programing it.

by the way I have always had Norton, spybot and Ad-Aware on my comp but theses guys squeezed by in a back door that these programs could not pick up. They said this happens all the time. My comp fixer uper guys said that these hackers were begginers/amitures because they let us knopw that they were there. Real hackers don't want to be seen they want to sneek in quitly get your info and not let you know of htere presence because they want your bank info and such. Not that that makes me feel any less violated.

Depends on where you're located whether this is illegal or not. The practice is called wardriving (actively searching for open networks).

Tell your kids they shouldn't cheat at games, then you wouldn't have to worry about it! It's common sense, if someone has hacked the code of a game to make a cheat program, building an access code to your computer through the game hack is no problem.

Regretfully, we have been hacked by a real sicko. My DD5 uses the computer for Webkinz and nothing else. She came upstairs for a snack, but left the computer on. I was horrified when I went to shut down the computer to find beastiality porn on the screen. They managed to get my browser to redirect to this porn site any time someone logs onto the internet. We had the hard drive deleted and installed a fresh copy of windows while purchasing Net Nanny to alleviate the problem. We haven't had a re-occurrence, but DD was pretty shaken up by it. We've gotten questions like "Do people really do that?" from her. She now refuses to use the computer.

they get thatt know. They were getting so tired of going in the games with everyone using cheet codes that they started. A hard lesson learned but a leason learned none the less:thumbsup2

The porn stuff is terrible...they put that on ours also. My comp guys said it is a common occurance from amature hackers and they do it because they can.
