What hotels on site will accept them? How did it work out for you? :paw:

I don't think any of the Disney Resorts accept pets, except service animals. And you REALLY can't leave a pet in the room all day, even in a hotel that does accept them. It's not fair to the pet.

Even if you could (which I seriously doubt you could), wouldn't you be worried about the animal getting out of the room and running off when housekeeping comes in your room to clean??? Doesn't housekeeping have to have the door open at all times? Why would you want to bring your pet with you to DW?

I'm just curious.....

No Disney hotels accept pets except service animals (seing eye dogs, etc.). We have taken our Shih Tzu places with us before and left her in the hotel room (in her crate), but never more than 9-10 hours because they have to go to the bathroom ,exercise, eat, drink. If you work and have dog(s) you have to be gone that long. But we don't crate her at night anymore. SHe sleeps with my older DD (9). If you are offsite and take your pet, most hotels require you to crate them so they don't do damage and don't bite the maids.

I was thinking of taking my dog once. I might some day. My MIL watches her, but we are going to be gone (icl. travel time) around 14 days this time. If we take her we'll put her in the kennel. She'll be close to us and we can play with her every day. My MIL says she mopes for a day or two after we leave :0(, but then she likes to play with the cat (who doesn't like her). It's a tough choice. My dog doesn't like kennels either.

For this purpose! However, YOU the owner, have to walk and feed the dog YOURSELF! ;) That would be like having them at home, so we Kennel them HERE at Home at the Vets! ;)

Years ago I had a large ferret, not one of those little belgiums you see now all over, mine was a cross of a american blackfoot ferret, which is now illegal to own. my snow white female named Sam was 3 feet long plus around another 12 inchs of tail. I used to let her sleep around my neck on top of my coat and take her everywhere. she would curl up would sleep up there. to the normal person watching me we would look like a large man with a fur collared coat, real fur too. I would just walk past the ticket enterance and sometimes a cm would say nice fur collar. I would sneak her food when no one was looking. finally I got caught, I was in a line and a loud rude lady was yelling at her kid, and woke sam up, who looked right at the lady, and the lady screamed, RAT!, RAT!, RAT!, sam got unraveled and climbed into my coat trying to get away from the loud screaming lady, and a 4 foot ferret don't fit well into a coat, so her tail hung out the bottom. when the CM's came over, they said where was the rat, the lady said it ran into my
coat, which the didn't believe, but was a long white tail sticking out the bottom and made me open the coat. and they said I had to leave sam at the kennel. which upset her because the food there is not as good as what she got in the park. sam passed away in 1992 of old age, never to see inside a disney park again.

Do you have a picture of your ferret! I have to see it. I had one for about 3 years.

Disney hotels do not allow animals.

Outside of the property, even hotels that do allow animals demand that the animal not be left unattended.

The Cleaners come in and the dog can easily be let out or bit out of fear.

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT LEAVE YOUR DOG IN A ROOM ALONE!

Not only that, generally when you leave they get to barking and can really disrupt the neighbors.

If you take your dog, do like we do and simply take them to the kennel.

If you are looking to go out and have a nice dinner outside of the park, just take your dog to the kennel, drop him off and go have a meal.

If it's after park closing you need to just drive through or order something and pick it up or have it delivered.

if this is not accomplishable by you, you may want to leave the dog at a kennel at home.

Personally with us, we are nuts over our pup, so we take him with us. He stays at the hotel with us, goes to the kennell during the day and if we want a nice dinner off site we simply keep him at the kennel and go eat.

If it's after hours we may order out at Perkins or Applebees and take it back to the hotel.

We have taken our dog with us a couple of times and what we do is we stay offsite, we usually stay at La Quinta, and we let them know we have a dog and that we don't wan't them to clean the room, and we leave the Do Not Disturb sign on the door, my dog is medium size and he is not used to stay in a crate but he is well behaved :dog2: and he is used to be alone while we work, so for the most part he is ok, and we of course take a breakfrom the parks during the day to go back to the hotel, take him out for a walk, etc.... of course we have never done it for a long time, at most 4 days.....

I am hoping this is a troll, please don't bring your Ferrets or other pets to Disney! (PErsonally I hate Ferrets having been bitten by one and would proabably react just like the "rude lady" Of couse, the poster was in no way rude by breaking the rules?) :rotfl:

you keep your dog at the hotel with you? is this permitted at certain resorts? (if so which ones so i can get a no-pet room!) i know lowes hotels (universal's onsites) allow pets and when we stayed there one night, i requested that i be in a non-pet room (where no pet has stayed before) because of my severe allergies... i must say, if someone had their pet in the room before me, and i had a reaction, i would be very upset!

On our trip in 2004 we took our chihuahua with us. We stayed at a resort where pets are not allowed (please don't flame). We didn't get caught and I didn't feel bad in the least. My dog is litter trained so we never had to take her outside, thus never left messes on their grounds and never had to worry about accidents in the room since she had her litter box within easy access. She doesn't bark, so I wasn't worried about disrupting anyone's vacations. She is so small that I knew the 2 bedroom room would be plenty of room to run around in (although she is pure coach potato). And no maids at a time share = no chance of my dog slipping out.

I guess I should consider myself real lucky to have such a good dog that I feel confident in bringing her along. Leaving her at the vets seems questionable to me since she is a small dog and then will be kept in a small kennel and not a "run". I am sure she enjoys coming along more, even if we are gone most of the day, she is happy to see us at night, and she vegges out the whole day anyways.

Now, I know my circumstances are unique and no way do I condone sneaking a pet into a restricted hotel, if there is any chance the dog could cause damage, or disrupt other people's vacations. That is why while my chihuahua comes, our other (VERY MUCH LOVED) Viscila (med. hunting breed dog) stays at the vets. . . .as much as we would love her to come I know she would be an inconvenience to everyone around us, even if we stayed at a resort where dogs are allowed I wouldn't bring her for this reason.

Now, please don't anyone flame me because I break rules. :(

My chihuahua causes less damage and problems than my own sweet child has been known to do. :)

Disney does not allow pets in resorts.

We stay OFF-SITE at hotels that accept pets.

If you dont want allergic reactions you may want to stay away from hotels that accept pets.

I would never leave my boy all day. I would come back during the day. THIS IS JUST HYPOTHETICALLY SPEAKING... Just curious.....

by staying at wdw resorts i thought i *was* staying away from hotels that accept pets! LOL! but now i learn that some people sneak them in... i guess it should not surprise me and just add it to the over-occupancy, old-mug-using, pool-hopping, lounge-chair-hogging list :rotfl:

that being said, to the poster who brings the chihuahua, even if no one's vacation is disrupted or inconvenienced when you are there, you can not be sure that your pet does not inconvenience (OR WORSE) the people that check in after you if they have allergies... 'cause we've all heard how immaculately the rooms are cleaned between guests

I agree, Carol. I mean, I know it gets cold in Florida - but cold enough for someone to be wearing a coat to the parks (presumably during the day) with a "fur" collar? :rolleyes2:

We did many years ago, but he was a guinea pig. We asked before bringing him and they said it was OK as long as he was in a cage when the maid entered the room. Of course he was in a cage. Now we just leave our pets with friends or our vet. The vet or another employee takes them home with them.

My babies will be spending a week at the spa when we go visit. They will be sharing a 4 level "kitty condo". I would love to be able to take them.....but the travel would be too stressful for them.

I admit I do sleep better with the cats in their usual spaces on the bed....one sleeps on my pillow!

So I take a stuffed animal....not the same...but the babies are safe and I can call to check on them.
