Yes, and they screwed me over big time. I bought a lot of war movies for my fathers birthday. They were documentaries of Iwo Jima, D-Day and all that re-released on Blu-Ray. I had been looking for them for a while and Buy.com had the best price. The description was "National Geographic WWII on BluRay Disc". What I received in the mail was the horrible HD DVD's that went obsolete years ago, and would not play on ANYTHING unless you had an HD DVD player. When I called numerous times they told me they could not do anything because Buy.Com has contracts with third party sellers and they had no liability on returning the product. Their customer service is based in India and no one speaks English.
I order from them several times a year. I've never had a problem, although I've heard their customer service can be awful when you do have a problem. If you are weary, I'd say avoid resellers you've never heard of and just buy from buy.com directly or more recognizable resellers. And use a credit card so you can dispute the charge if there is a problem with the transaction that the seller refuses to address.
I have purchased from them numerous times without issue. But just like Amazon, I just buy from them directly. I never buy from third parties on there just out of fear of what was mentioned above. Like others stated, they have been around a long time.

Somehow a purchase on Buy.com got us signed up for some "subscription" service, and we were charged a few bucks a month for something. I don't recall what. My DH handled it. He's an IT consultant and creates online stores, so he's a VERY careful online shopper. He is certain he didn't sign up for something and he's extra careful to check/uncheck boxes when necessary. So, we don't shop there anymore.
