I'm glad I missed the whole selfie stick phase at the parks. I went to Disneyland for a few days last October and the sticks didn't become popular until November.

Seriously, folks, self sticks are a major danger on roller coaster rides... if I see any on our trip I will feel compelled to remind the owner of this. I invite this community to positively and kindly address the issue if you see a selfie stick in the parks.

Glad they are enforcing it. To those asking, the GoPro handles that do not extend are still allowed according to the written rules.

I wish they would enforce their rule against backpacks with wheels people can pool behind them and rolling coolers. Can't remember how many times I twisted an ankle leaving the park in the dark when someone cut in front of me with one.

I don't really care that selfie sticks are banned, but I find other things a lot more annoying... like people behind you in line that are practically glued to you and are rubbing up against you the entire line. I suppose you can't ban people, though . I suppose that wouldn't be very good for profits.

Of course they are serious about it now. The real measure for how serious they are will not come for a while. Wait a year or two and if you slowly start to see them crop back up, you'll know just how dedicated to enforcing the ban they are.

Apparently there is a company making snap-style bracelets that can be turned into narci-sticks. The company's statement is something like "We are not making these as a way around rules against them, but we are curious to see where our customers go with them." which sounds like a direct challenge for people to use them to try and get around the rules. Hopefully the second a CM sees one of these bracelets become stick it gets confiscated too.

I saw about those they look just like the snap bracelets that were banned when I was in grammar school cause they enjoyed slicing people's wrists. They are a concept only at the moment though the site says so it may simply be a onion type thing and not anything they plan to really make.

We were in MK at 9am on the 1st day of the official ban. They are serious about it. The guy inspecting my bag even commented about it, asking me, "Got any selfie-sticks in here?".

All week long, the bag check guys were commenting about selfie-sticks and going thru EACH & EVERY tiny zippered compartment of every bag.

I'm glad they are so thorough!
