Has anyone seen the sticks since the ban?

On BTMRR this morning I saw a CM stop a kid just getting off the ride with about a 12" stick attached to a video camera and he took the stick and made a big deal about it, and how he could confiscate it.

They are stopping people at bag check and on the tram in the parking lots.

The only one I've seen over the past 3 days was on the ferry on the way to MK. Other than that, no sticks during either of the fireworks shows at MK/HS, both FoF parades/MSEP on the 3rd, or throughout the day.

Was at WDW from 7/1 thru 7/4, saw many sticks being taken at the entrance to the parks. Only saw 1 stick in the parks in front of the Great Movie Ride. A cast member saw it too, quickly told the guest they weren't allowed, and a crew member would take it until the guest left the park. There were signs at the entrance to all parks explaining the new rule.

Glad to hear that they are serious about this. They weren't a problem last summer when we were there, but from what I've read here, and other places, it certainly sounds like over the past few months, they were becoming a significant issue.

See that's where they rules are weird because "long" selfie sticks aren't allowed but go pro sticks that are short apparently are. If your tripod is one piece and can be compacted then it's ok if it isn't one piece it isn't ( someone reported theirs got taken for this reason) what the guy with iPad had could barely qualify as a tripod

Next they'll invent surgically implanted selfie sticks to make it through checkpoints. I'm picturing Wolverine with "selfie claws".

How about non-telescopic monopods? Are those being taken? Mine is about 8 inches long and I just use it as a handle to my video camera. I am afraid they will be confused as selfie sticks.

I've read conflicting reports. We arrive on Wednesday and have a go pro hand grip (non extendable.). I'll report back what we find out about it in the parks this week.

Sounds like they've become a serious safety concern... I can imagine people getting hit with them, as well as people trying to use them on rides and having them smack the top of the ride, or something. Can't blame Disney for banning them, honestly.

That'd be great. I would appreciate your report.

I don't really care that selfie sticks are banned, but I find other things a lot more annoying... like people behind you in line that are practically glued to you and are rubbing up against you the entire line. I suppose you can't ban people, though :D. I suppose that wouldn't be very good for profits.

Myself and my nephew were smacked with one in line at BTMRR about 10 times during our mid-June trip before I ever so "sweetly" told the selfie stickers that if they didn't put it away, I would for them permanently. They got the point LOL!

I know that it is quite serious when someone is killed or severely injured by a lightning strike
but, I am stuck on the following statement from the article
regarding a lightning strike victim: one man has been discharged...
Well, that was a pretty negative thing to say. But you have to love the Brits' penchant for working in a tightly woven pun now and then...
