I've been looking at the Dyson 14 (yellow). They are $429 at Sears with a 2 yr warranty. But I found a refurbished on amazon for $309 with a 90 day warranty. I just wonder what exactly dose refurbished mean? Are they scratched/dented, etc. or are they in new condition? Am I just getting someone elses problems? That's a big price difference though...which I like. :thumbsup2 Or is this one of those items you just have to pay for....no deals. :confused3
I would love to hear any advice/info that you have to offer. I joke that one day I'm going to get my vaccum and it will be setting in pieces in a box in the closet, with a sign some assemby required! :sad2:

Thanks!!

Not sure specifically with the Dyson, but refurbished usually is something that was returned opened to the store and in turn returned to the place of manufacturing. It is checked for defects and often none are found. If it is a defect that can be easily fixed it is, the product is cleaned and re-sold as reconditioned. Many times there is nothing wrong with it at all just that it was returned in an open box, or returned becasue it had a part/attachment missing.

If It Had To Be It Had To Be Fixed This Soon, because They Havent Been Out For A Year ,that's Kind Of Bad.i Mean Thats A $500 Vacum.
My $99 Vacum Is 3 Yrs Old A Still Going Strong. From What The Tv Ads Say It Never Loses Suction, heck For $500 It Should Vacum All By It's Self.so $400 Is Still Alot For A Referbished Dyson.

I love my Dyson but I would have never bought a remanufactured one. To be honest the Dyson is one of the best things I have ever bought....

I purchased a Dyson refurb from Amazon about four months ago. It arrived as-new. I couldn't find a mark on it. It has worked fine since day one. If you should decide to buy it, be sure to watch Amazon's prices. They seem to change almost daily. I got an extra $20 off when a couple of days later their price dropped. An e:Mail to their cust. service and a charge credit was immediately given.

Use the Kohls 30% off code KCSAVE30

The DC14 Yellow all floors is on their site for $407.99 - 30% = $285 approx plus free standard shipping altough you do pay a $7.50 surcharge because it's oversized plus your tax. Should bring you just over $300 for a NEW Dyson incl tax and all.

You do need to have a kohls charge for the discount but it's so worth it. I've been waiting for this sale to come around again to save the 30% because I finally decided to go for the Dyson and this was the best deal going for a new one.

I bought a refurbed dyson (purple) almost 2 years ago off amazon. I love it!! It gets the dog hair up and unlike my old $99 vacuums I only have to go over an area once to get it clean. :cool1: Good luck with your decision.

Thanks guys! I'll check into Kohl's! :)

I also bought the Yellow Dyson @ kohl's with our 30% off coupon...I agree it was well worth it :)

I want one!!! I just can't justify spending the money right now. I have to admit $300 is a great price. I just bought a vaccum from Sears about 1 1/2 years ago and I just don't feel that it's doing that good of a job. Please, tell me the good things about Dyson! Maybe I'll change my mind! Thanks,Tink

I bought the refurbished one from Amazon 2 years ago and I haven't had any trouble with it. However, the Kohl's deal with coupon sounds like the way to go.

Dyson's are the best!!! I don't know how I ever went without one. The first day I got my Dyson I had just swept the house with my Hoover the day before. Well, I swept with the Dyson and had to empty it 5 times before I was done. About every 2 rooms, it was full!! We are only a family of 3 and my DD is past the dragging in dirt age,. so I didn't think our carpets were too dirty. You will be amazed at how much it picks up. My carpet looks like new again.

It is really good with cat hair too. We now have long haired cat, and it picks up hair really good. :thumbsup2

Do you know if Kohl's run deal's like this from time to time? I don't have a kohl's card and it ends tomorrow. Plus I would like to take a look at them before I bought one. I've only looked at them online. Thanks...

Thanks for the Kohl's discount code. I have been looking at Dyson's for awhile but could never justify the price. For $301 including tax and shipping I should have my Dyson in two weeks!!! :cool1:

I bought a refurbished Dyson a year ago and have had no problems.

I got mine refurbished from Amazon about a year and a half ago and I haven't had any problems either. I love my Dyson. I don't care what Consumer Reports says, I have never had a better vacuum.

The furniture store I bought my chair from bought 2 Dyson refurbished from Heartland USA or Heartland America.com and has had them for over 2 years and still going strong! Waiting for my bonus on the 15th so I can order one from there!!

I went to my local Kohl's yesterday and advised them I threw away my flyer with the 30% off but I remembered the online code and was going to order my Dyson online. They told me not to worry about the flyer and buy it in their store. I picked out TONS of stuff including my vacuum and used my Kohl's card and got 30 off my purchase. My Dyson animal DC07 was $335.00!! What a steal!!

So glad the Kohl's tip helped. Yes they run the 15 20 30 sale every couple months.(and I always seem to get the 15% off code but then I come here and someone usually posts the 30% off code so I just use that. Ha) Funny I finally decided to buy the dyson and this was the first time they've had this sale in awhile but I did wait and am glad I did. I actually got the dc14 purple animal. It was on kohls.com yesterday but I did not see it today. It's the most expensive of the bunch and the 30% off really helped. I know I saved just over $150!!! I really like the attachments on this one so it was worth the extra $$$ for me.

Can anyone explain the differences between the models? I am looking at the all floors models. I have seen there are different model numbers even with it being "all floors". I am confused. :confused3
