Has anyone (only those who've owned for 3+ years) never done an add-on?

Nope lol

bought small resale first, added on direct within months of that first trip

Combo of multiple direct & resales since, "last one" a year ago:teeth:

I purchased in 1996 at Boardwalk, after planning out what points it would take to spend 2 weeks at a higher point schedule in a 1-bedroom villa. 440 points was the estimate, so that's what I bought. I knew full well I would spend more time at Disney, but some trips would be at cheaper resorts, some during value points seasons, some in a cheaper studio, etc. As it worked out, I've been able to travel to Disney 4 or 5 times a year, for 4-5 day trips each, in a 1-bedroom villa most of the time, and usually have a few points to bank...and haven't needed to add on for 29 years now.

Wow! I think that's a record-twenty nine years and no add-ons necessary or desired.

Not me - I started with 150 points in 2007 and added in 2009 and then an additional 6 times no getting me to 650 points.

I do have a friend who owns 150 points that she bought from her cousin about 10-12 years ago. She has never added on and I highly doubt she ever will.

Sorry, no. We bought 230 OKW points, then another 200 BWV points (different contract), sold OKW and then bought 100 AKV points as a direct add-on to BWV. So, we went from 230 points to 300 points.

We bought 150 direct BCV points in 2002 when we had 2 young kids, and a third on the way. Have never added on. We have been able to take many trips, in different sized rooms, for different lengths of stay. We've been very happy with the purchase. It has definitely worked well for our family.

We bought 150 pts. at OKW in 1996 and have never added on. We bank points and go every couple of years, stay in a 1 bedroom, and that's plenty for us.

Bought in 1997 and never looked back. We may have to add on to accommodate visits with the grandchildren and our getaways to Vero Beach

Bought 350 points in 1995 when our daughter was a toddler. Never added on. We’ve used them at WDW, HH, VB, DL, Tokyo Disney, Disney Paris, many DCL & some wonderful Concierge Collection stays back when points could be used at many top-tier resorts around the US.

Because we had the resources, our strategy was to do a DVC vacation once a year & travel the world as well. If it had been a choice between DVC or world travel, we never would have spent the time & money on Disney. Still traveling & after 30 years, DVC has changed so much from the product we bought, we’ll be selling soon.

Bought direct 8 years ago and never had the need to add on… have purchased one time use points only once

We bought in almost 10 years ago to the day and I think our longest we ever made it was the first 6 years without adding on a contract.

We initially purchased 120pts direct at the Polynesian in 2015 (we were 24, didn’t own a home, and weren’t even engaged at that point lol 😂). We figured 5 nights or so every year there was going to be great!

In 2021, my husband (yes we did get married after that first purchase haha) surprised me with a 120pts at AKL for my 30th birthday.

Last spring we added 100pts because we took a trip in a 2-bedroom and wanted to be able to do that every year, so we bought SAPs at SSR lol. We were for sure done at that point!

Until last month when my husband woke up, looked at me, and asked if we wanted to sell our SSR contract in favor of a bigger BLT contract. So we compromised and are now in ROFR for a 160pt BLT contract with no intentions of selling the SSR in its place lol.

It’ll bring us to 500 and I swear we are done…for now 😂

I bought a super small contract and then suddenly had a few extra bucks to buy an even smaller direct contract. I bought it within a month of getting my first resale points in hand. My other contracts came within the next two years and then I haven't bought since then.
