Has anyone made the January marathon a fundraiser?

I'm running the 1/2 marathon january 2012. I'm also in the process of setting up some fundraisers for my FIL who is on the list for a lung transplant to pay for expenses. All of a sudden, I wondered if the marathon could be one of those fundraisers - any help would be appreciated! thanks!

Have people buy/sponsor a mile and take a picture at each mile marker for them
Have people pledge an amount per minute you run
Have people pay to guess your final time or pace & give the winner a prize
Start last and get people to pay you for each person you finish in front of

I would change that to "every minute you run under a given goal pace".

As written, too easy to game the system
