I am trying to make them using my friend's mom's recipe and I'm not sure if I am doing it right. Once I dip the iron in the batter, do I set the rossette in the oil and once the batter starts to brown, will the pretzel seperate from the rossette?
Help please.

I'm not sure how to make them, but once you do, are you gonna share? :teeth:

Hi Patsy:
I never knew they were called that!! You have to make sure that the oil is at the right temp or else the batter will stick to the iron and yes, once it is done it will come off the iron. My uncle use to make them for me when I as a child and just last year I got an iron and tried to make them myself. It takes practice but sooo yummy!! :)

I've never heard of a Chinese pretzel before. I used to make these pastry type things, batter on a special iron, deep fried. I wonder if it is the same thing?

Thank you. After trying over and over again and failing yesterday, I had finally gotten in touch with my friend and my friend's mom and dad told me that the iron first needs to be hot and that the batter needs to be cold. I was planning on making them for Easter, but with so many other things to do, I will try to make it next week. Thank you for the advice.

It could be. The recipe that I have calls for flour, an egg, cornstarch, sugar, salt, evaported milk, and water.
