Has anyone every stayed at Windward Cay?

Hi ya

We've rented a villa at Windward Cay and were wondering if anyone knows the area, how far a drive it is to Disney and whether you felt safe there? I've spoken with a few people saying they are in gated communities and i'm pretty sure mine isn't gated. We don't mind but would love to know in advance what the area is like etc.

Wnward Cay is a small development just by marker 14 on the 192 .I shouldn't worry about it being non gated as the gates are sometimes no deterent.

I used to have a house there and its a great place. Get to Disney on a good day in about 15 minutes.
Not gated but that doesn't mean a thing.

We stayed at Windward cay in 2003. Really nice, a lot of Americans live there full time. It has a great rural feel even though it's only 400/500 yards from the main drag..don't worry..you won't get any traffice noise!

We'll probably go back to Orlando in 2006...and will DEFINITELY stay at Windward cay again.

Just returned from windward cay (FRI) stayed in pliny drive really fantastic lots of american residants, a typical american street, just of the 192 about 15/20 max to disney and unniversal. Walmart 5 mins away loads of restaraunts and eating all around (olive garden italian turn right and golden corral turn lefy very yummy) You will love windward cay we stayed 3 weeks no problems very quite and relaxed, close to everything but also secluded...just bliss ... have fun sharon
