used a car service to go from a Disney resort to the Port of Miami? We have used Tiffany to go from Disney to Port Caniveral(SP?) but Miami is a "little" farther. I was going to start calling car services but thought I would see if anyone had experience with this?
I am willing to rent a car, but DH isn't thrilled about it. We have never rented a car before.... I would have to have it all coordinated and I haven't a clue where to begin. A car service would be much easier. Any advise? Thanks!

Haven't done it, but that's a long distance. I'm guessing a car service is likely to cost as much as your cruise. I have driven the distance; it takes a little under 4 hours. I think that most people who are not prepared to drive themselves from WDW to Miami would fly down instead of using a car service.

As long as you are over 25 and a licensed driver, renting a car isn't a big deal. You can easily get one from National at the Dolphin, you would just reserve it on their website. (For tips on coupons and rate codes, see Mousesavers.com) For a one-day one-way rental it shouldn't be over $100, and probably a lot less.

A last choice would be to take a bus service. For example, Transfloridian has one that runs from a hotel in Kissimmee to the Miami airport for $47 one-way, with 3 departures daily. http://www.transfloridian.com/destinations/schedules/MCO/MCO_MIA.htm After that you would need to take another transfer from the airport to the port.

Thanks for the info. You are right...I called and the price was a little over $400. I am going to look into the car rental. I need to figure out what company may be at/close to the Port of Miami. Maybe I will drive and DH can pretend I am the car service
