I need some advice!! I had a male friedn (straight) come to me with a problem Seems our boss, also a male, has been making sexual advances toward him. He ebven hinted that the advances have become physical. I've reported the complaint through the proper authorities, but now that the complaint has reached the top, it isn't being acted on. I have suspicions that other males are also being propositioned. Any advice?

If the top brass don't act on it, try to find if he has made advances to others and get all together. There's strength in numbers. If that don't work, tell your friend to get a lawyer and file a suit. You'd be surprise how fast a lawyer can make people move.

You need to report it to HR and let them handle it from there. Not hearing something further is not an indication that they're not doing anything. Most organizations have specific procedures for investigating and documenting sexual harrassment claims.

Disagree. You don't need to pull any groups together... this is an HR issue and you need to let them handle it. The last resort should be for the "victim" to file an EEOC claim. But again... last resort.

The boss has HR in his back pocket. He has several friends there that would cover for him. This is a family man that is active in several civic groups. If this had been him making advances on a female, would it have been acted on quicker? I almost feel like the upper brass is afraid that this will leak out and embarass the company. If something isn't done, I'm afraid he will make further advancements. Furthermore, he knows that I know....and he's watching me....can't make a move without him being there.

I would probably tell your friend to try and get some concrete evidence and i'd probably advise them to go to HR and say "I have a lawyer who will file suit if something isn't done about this in X amount of days and I want proof that it's being taken care of".
