Has anyone ever brake a bone?

I've been lucky. I haven't broke anything, yet. lol

I broke my little toe in high school by running thru the house bare foot and I hit my toe on the corner of the wall running from room to room. I could not wear shoes all summer. My foot was black-n-blue for 2 months! Other than that, I have just sprained stuff.

My DS, however, knocked a rather tall glass block wall down on himself last summer and broke his leg. That was an amazing experience I would prefer not to go through again, poor kid!!

I kind of accidently shattered my pelvic bone once.....ouch.

it was in a car accident.

I broke my ankle when I was in college. I was walking down some wooden stairs that were wet and my friend who was behind me slipped and fell and kicked my legs out from under me. I grabbed the railing to try and catch myself and rolled my ankle.
Had a cast for 4 weeks, in the winter, in Minnesota! Trudging to classes on crutches through snow was really fun, let me tell you. At least it was only for two weeks and then I could just walk on the cast.
Did I mention my friend did not get hurt at all!!!

Hmm. Both collarbones after tumbling down a flight of stairs when I was 2, my left wrist when I was 7, my nose twice during high school playing basketball, my right hand and various fingers playing basketball, and my left foot two years ago.

The fractures didn't sideline me nearly as long as torn ligaments have, though. I've torn my right ankle up twice and was on crutches for six weeks each time.

I hope I'm done.

no wonder you work in health care... you had so much exposure to it all your life:teeth:

I broke my (L) Metatarsal (?sp) its near the sm toe while I was dancing to the electric slide. Was in a purple cast for 12 weeks.

Broke my tailbone. I wouldn't wish that pain on my worst enemy! 3 years later and it still hurts believe it or not!

I was a single mother's nightmare and by the time I graduated high school they knew us by name in the ER. I have broken both ankles, both wrist, 6 fingers, and a rib. I was an active child you know.

I have never broken a bone.

My sister on the other hand has broken several all at once. She was in a car accident and had two fractures in her right leg, three cracked ribs, fractured right scapula (shoulder blade) and a "hangman's" break of the C-2 vertabrae and a fracture in the C-3. She was in a halo for 8 weeks.

Major OUCH!! I hope your sister has fully recovered, DisneyDreamer!

I broke my ankle tobogganing, and my arm skating. I'm not too good at winter sports!

Yup...she is fully recovered with no paralysis :)

I stay away from winter sports myself...don't want to tempt fate

I have never broken a bone to my knowledge up until age 21, however... during an ENT visit the DR called his interns in to come see this "interesting find". I'm thinking maybe I've got some sort of foriegn illness or something but then he tells me that I've got a severe broken nose that has healed over get this TWICE. Yes somehow I managed to break my nose twice and never knew about it. Oh well, good for me I guess.
I did however break my right optical socket a year and a half ago while at Blizzard Beach. I was sliding down one of the slides and our tube slide up the side of the slide and flipped up into the air, slamming me down face first into the concrete. I blacked out, slide down the rest of the way and woke up only after I'd hit the bottom of the splash down pool. OUCH! We went out to lunch that afternoon, me complete with huge black shinner, my fiance was in such a nasty mood with the whole incident that he was visibly shaken, when he went to the restroom the waitress asked me if I needed the police...lol! :earseek:

I broke my wrist falling off a ladder. Broke two ribs water tubing.

I broke my left arm twice when was about 6 & 7. I remember I was in traction the first time, I broke some bones around the elbow. Both times from tripping over a tiny fence. Last summer I tripped off the curb and broke 2 fingers on my left hand. I had to get 5 pins placed. I now have a crooked pinky because of that!!!
