Has Anyone Ever Bothered Your Stroller?

I'm just wondering as this is my first trip with our little one. Has anyone ever bothered your stroller at the parks while you were riding the rides? I will certainly be taking my bag with me when we ride, but since I'm buying a new stroller for our trip, I just want to make sure its there when we exit the rides.

Sometimes the cast members move them around, esp. at IASW. Can't stand it when my stroller's not where I left it. Not only at the MK, but also at DL.

We've been twice w/ DD and a stroller, and both times no one has ever messed with our stroller or its contents. I usually take our bag with us, but sometimes I leave it and I see others leave theirs. Sometimes if our stoller was parked in the wrong area, we will find it has been moved by a CM but otherwise untouched. Last week when we went, we brought our Chicco umbrella stroller which was about $80. I don't think I've ever heard of any stroller thefts thus far.

This was many years ago, when our daughter who is graduating from college was a baby, we took our own stroller. The only problem we ever had was that one time someone took the towel that we had on the stroller to keep the sun out. My advice, make sure you at least take anything with you that you don't want to lose. I think that the stroller itself will be just fine.

Our Maclaren stroller was stolen during our first trip from the MK. We did hear from the many helpful CMs that it is a rare occurance but does sometimes happen. We were lucky that no other personal objects were in the stroller besides a picture of us from the Judge's Tent that was in the stroller bottom. The CMs got a rental stroller for us (for free) and brought it right to where we were. They gave us free stroller rental vouchers for the remainder of our trip and checked many times at lost and found for ours, just in case. It was never turned in as far as we know and we called there and checked often too.

Like I said, it is rare, but I wouldn't leave anything of value in it while you ride, just in case! :)

We have never had a problem with our stroller, other than the CM who move them around. We have left the diaper bag in it, but no valuables. You see very expensive strollers left at rides and I have never heard of one being stolen.

amen to all of the above. My recommendation to you though would be to tie a unique ribbon or item to the handle of the stroller. For some rides, there are a sea of strollers and we all buy from the same pool of manufacturers. Long story short, this helps you identify your stroller as well as stops others from taking yours by accident. It does happen. Just a recommendation...

Well, we just flew back on Sunday night and one family was trying to make 2 little girls happy with a simple umbrella stroller. When I told them they could take it to the gate that made things better. That's when the mom told us her double stroller had been STOLEN!! at Magic Kingdom. They had checked lost and found repeatedly, had Cast Members on the lookout for it, but it was gone. SO, mark yours with your name & address very very well - like on the seat and the bars and the handle and identify it with a balloon or something that you will find easily.

Our rental stroller was stolen at DL in 2001, we had jackets, sweatshirts, wet clothes (from water rides) on it. Thank god we had picked up the camera. Disney found the stroller but not our belongings. We were issued Disney dollars to try and replace what had been taken. Make sure not to leave anything valuable...esp. sentimental value.

No, not in any of our trips. I have a unique stroller. I've NEVER seen another exactly like it, a couple in a different color, but never any like mine.

I never leave anything of value in it anyway.

We've never had a problem, but we don't leave anything in it.

This is a random and slightly icky tip, but was a good idea, I thought. Tying something to your stroller is always a good idea so someone doesn't take it accidentally (there are millions of strollers!). I can't remember where I read it, but they suggested tying a plastic bag with a diaper in it to the handle, possibly pouring in some coke or something to make it look yucky. I think it would be a deterrant :rotfl: , especially when there would be so many other CLEAN ones around if someone had nefarious purposes in mind.

Our last trip to Disneyland we had our Disney rental stroller taken twice. It was not moved (asked CM who was working there) just gone. Disney replaces them of course, but it was still a big hassle working our way back to where you get the strollers (even getting them in Toon Town or Tomorrowland which are easier then going all the way back to Main Street, still takes some time). Luckily we never had anything in them, just a balloon, or tie to mark it as ours, and the nametag Disney puts in. It wasn't too bad but it did interupt the magic for us.

This time we are going 10 days so to save money we are bringing our little $19 umbrella strollers. I am using fabric paint and Iron-on's to mark them as ours. Now that both kids are potty trained we are hoping to avoid carrying a backpack (we each have tiny hip packs for camera, video camera, etc) so I will have to leave some things in the stroller (water bottles, change of clothes for the kids, ponchos). I decided to put the change of clothes in a ziploc bag, so people could see what it was and hopefully not be interested in taking it. The stroller has a bag hanging off the back so the contents will be easily visible unlike a stroller with a basket underneath. I'll just make sure to bring clothes I don't care about in case something does happen. And the ponchos are two for $1 so I won't shed a tear over those.

Our rental stroller was stolen last Saturday night at Epcot when we came out of Mexico after having dinner there. Thank goodness we did not leave anything in it. But it's a lessen learned---DON'T leave ANYTHING valuable in them.

Unfortunately, yes. I won't go into details but it wasn't a pleasant experience. Also, several times I have seen people take park strollers from others. DS or DD was getting tired I guess and the parents just helped themselves to ones that were there (and already in use by someone else). The last time I saw this happen was in front of The Land.

My DD is now grown but if I ever have to do it again, I'm going to bring a bicycle lock with me.. and lock it to something .. or lock the wheels together.

We've brought our strollers to WDW for 14 years with no problems. Until this past November. I parked our stroller outside Maelstrom with our daughter's stitch fanny pack and a purchase from Mexicoin the basket while we went on the ride. The stroller was gone less than 20 minutes later. We spent about an hour searching and waiting for security. We were on our way back to our hotel when security called that they had found the stroller at the Mexico. The fanny pack was there but our purchase was gone. I'll be carrying a backpack this year and sending all my purchases back to the hotel. I really wish that I had come out of the ride in time to see the person walk away with it :rolleyes1

well it wasnt quite stolen....

We came out of The Tree of Life and my nieces stroller was gone - noticed a stroller a couple of feet from where we left ours that looked exactly like hers -so we figured someone took off with ours instead - we hung out for about 1/2 hour to see if someone would come back but they didnt , so we took that one - about 3 hours later we run into the people who took our stroller - seriously! it was sooo funny - they were very apologetic and said they were touring the park and keeping an eye out for thier stroller (as were we)

so if its gone - it might just be a case of mistaken identity (granted if things were missing -then it was stolen)

Actually, the stroller parks are an excellent opportunity to "trade up". pirate:

We are going soon and will be hiring ones kind of hope that it is mistaken that they are taken in error and not any other reason as we have 2 small children DS 3 & DD 4 so will probably get tired quick especially as we don't get much sun at home! :sad2:
But it is good to know that they will be relaced if they do go wandering!

Never had a problem with anyone taking our stroller--thank goodness, that would be especially disheartening at WDW. My problem is with the birds! They stand on/ around strollers and more than once, I've had to clean bird poop off of our stroller. Yuck! I tried finding more sheltered areas to stroller park, but the birds are persistent (as are the CMs moving strollers). You may want to bring some extra wipes, just in case...

We haven't had our own stroller stolen. We did have someone attempt to take our double rental on our trip in March 2003.

It was dusk in Epcot, and I was alone with my boys (ages 3 and 17 months at the time) while dh went off somewhere for a few minutes. I was letting the boys run around in one of those grassy areas, and I parked our stroller right by the curb, I was standing probably 30 feet from it. It had some of our (non-valuable) stuff in it, as well as the nametag that Disney puts in the clear holder...it was obvious someone was still using it.

A family with 2 (or 3) elementary school aged kids comes by and quickly starts loading the kids in and telling them to get in. Of course I see this and quickly walk over and say, "Excuse me, that's our stroller!" They said, "Oh, we just really need a stroller, our kids are so tired, we thought we could use this one..." I said, "Well, then you should go rent one. This is ours, we paid for it this morning." They kinda babbled again about their kids being tired, and kinda half asked me where they could rent a stroller...while slowly getting their kids out of it. I could tell they were upset that they had been caught, and they were trying to play it off like they were making an honest mistake. HELLOOOOO

And that is why, I too, will NEVER leave anything valuable in our stroller.
