Has anyone ever booked DVC same day accomodations?

When we drive we had a couple of times where we were going to arrive in Orlando a day early so, while on the road still, I called as soon as member services opened and made a same day reservation. I got SSR once and AK Jambo house villa another time, both one bedrooms.

Although with the Jambo Villa, there was a mix up and we ended up with a two bedroom suite - conceirge (non-DVC). Thankfully there was no mix up on the points because of this....I was really worried that they would charge us the points value for that room and can only imagine what that would come to.

No point value at all. You can't use points for AKL.

Stayed an extra night at OKW between Christmas and New Years when our flight home was cancelled. Luckily we knew the night before and the manager was able to rearrange things so we didn't have to move rooms. He was great in handling our points, of course he was a member himself, so he knew exactly how the system worked.

We added a night at vgf once in a 1br. We moved over from I think it's paradise pier.

We were able to book the same day at AKV - Kidani last year. I had a standing reservation at SSR and when my waitlist for VWL opened up, I needed another room, so called MS that very morning and got one

Yes, last year during hurricane season when Sandy was beating up the East Coast, we made a last minute decision to stay another night at AKV - we added on an extra night at the front desk (using our points) and didn't even need to change rooms.

Yep it happened for us once at Hilton Head. Due to circumstances we wanted and needed to stay another night. Went to front desk and asked them if they had availability. They did so I called MS and they booked it for us. Did not even have to change rooms. It worked great!!
