Has anyone else here *never* been to WDW?

I can't fanthom all the DISers who have gone several times! I've never heard about anyone IRL going more than once These are obviously people who have never heard of the DIS Maybe one day it will be me! For starters I'm planning my first trip now. I hope to go in January 2007. That is the soonest I'll have the $$$...the trip will include me, dh, and our four children (11,9,7,5).

I knew absolutely nothing about WDW (except that it's in Florida) until this past May. Imagine my surprise when I found out about the resorts on site! All the restaurants! Character meals! When will the fun end? I can't believe how much I've learned in the past three months ~ and I have 18 more months to go before my first trip! Think of the knowledge I'll have.

Anyway, I, of course, can respond to so few threads because I have no experience nor strong opinions. So I thought I'd give fellow lurkers and those who have never been a chance to jump in and post.

BTW I've never been to Disneyland either. Who else has never been to WDW or DL?

Just wanted to say welcome to the DIS! By the time you go to WDW, you'll have a TON of great information from these boards! Check out all of the different boards: budget board, families, etc.

Well, I have never been to DL. I have been to WDW four times and will be there for a fifth time in Oct. But my wife (who occasionally posts under my name) has never been. But like you, she has learned a ton in the past couple months.

I have never been to DL. I have been to WDW once.
I was 8 at that time and that was 19 years ago. I'm presently planning a trip for July 2006 for myself, my husband, and our children ages 15, 10, 7, and 4. It is almost like a first trip for me. Alot has changed over 19 years.

I've never been to DL but our first and only trip to WDW was 9/03. We are planning another for 1/06. I am now helping my brother & parents plan their first trip and my brother was amazed about how much I knew with only being there once. He said "I swear with all the WDW info you have in your head I thought you've been there at least 9 times." Everything I know is what I've learned from the dis boards I keep telling them to check out these boards but so far no one in my family loves Disney as much as I do nor do they understand my love for it I seriously can get emotional just thinking about it It truely is a magical place

I have never been to DL. And I have only been to WDW once. It was no fun and I had a terrible time. I try to block it out. It was not due to WDW, it was my Ex-husband (explains why he is an ex now). So I say to myself, this is my first real trip to WDW. And this time is gonna be GREAT!!!! This time I have a wonderful DH and a beautiful DS who make my trip magical. we are on the same boat! No one in my family understands my love for Disney. Then again, none of them has ever been to WDW. Once they experience WDW for the first time, that will all change. They will have the same love that we have for it. Even though it's been 19 years since i've been, I still have a clear memory of that trip.

Prior to 2001 neither DH or I had ever been to WDW (or to DL for that matter). Our first trip was magical and as you can see from my signature once we went we were hooked. Enjoy the planning and try not to stress about things. The anticipation is part of the fun.

I have only been once, and that was 6 years ago. We are going again in November and most likely will be the last one, with all my kids. I love reading the board, you will learn sooo much and it will make the quality of your trip so much nicer. It was once of the best trips we ever had and it was because of all the tips I learned here!! Enjoy reading and asking questions, you will be glad you did by the time you take your trip.

Welcome to the DIS. Wow, with 18 months to plan, you'll learn a lot more by then. I'll make a prediction - the anticipation will get to you so much that you'll go sooner. It seems to happen a lot.

I've never been to DL. I've been to WDW 3 times total (2 in the last couple of years) But, I still have not done everything in DW....I've never been to DTD. I've also never seen the President show @ MK...or Tarzan Rocks in AK. I've never done Body Wars in Epcot....or Backlot Tour in MGM!!! I've still got tons of other stuff on my must-do list for our next vacation in Sept!!! I can't wait.

I think of it this way...most people have a vacation spot they visit over and over again. Ours just happens to be WDW. For the record, I've never been to DL (my husband has been once when he was a little boy).

There's a first for everything! Congrats on planning your first WDW trip!! You'll have so much fun learning more and more!

Just wanted to say welcome to the Dis! I have been to both WDW and DL, but I have a lot of friends who have never been to either....they think it is just for kids ! I just wanted to add make sure to check out all of the non Disney boards (like the community board) as well here on the Dis under just for fun.

I've been to Disneyland 3 times; once as a child, once as a teen and once with my husband and children.

We're planning our first trip to WDW for the fall of 2006 and we can't wait! If I could swing it earlier, I know I would, but I want us to have enough $$$ to do what we like and not have to scrimp while we're there.

I was in your shoes not so long ago. The first time I went to WDW was 4 years ago and I was 29! Since then DH and I have been there 5 going on 6 times. We used to live in Jacksonville FL so we took a few day trips. After going the first time, I was hooked. WDW flows through my veins now. November can't get here soon enough for me!

I've been going to WDW since I was three (29 years ago!) and still love it!! Never been DL, maybe someday but I'm not crazy about flying. Welcome to all of you first timers and be prepared- it can be addictive!!!!! My DH would disagree, but secretly he's looking forward to our trip as much as am- just doesn't admit it ! Happy planning, that's half the fun.
